My experience today was unbelievable. I had two phones that I needed to ship back to my phone company bc I had upgraded and had to trade my old ones in by a certain day or I would be charged $800 each on my bill. Because of unfortunate circumstances I was shipping them out the day before the last day to send them. I had already had a rough day when I realized I had only 20 mins to get there before they closed at 6pm. I called the store when I was less than a mile away at 5:51 and wanted to give the courtesy of letting them know that I was sorry to be arriving at the end of the day but that I really needed to send these packages today. I had already printed labels, everything was boxed up and ready to go other than some tape that I didn't have at home. All that was needed was to tape the box with the label and for them to scan it in. The lady proceeded to tell me on the phone that they closed at 6 and that the door was locked. I said well it's 5:51 not 6 so I will be there before 6. She said ok and ended the call. I got held up at two red lights, but very quickly parked in front of the store at 5:57 and was at the door by 5:58. The ladies stared at me for over 3 mins standing there and wouldn't answer the phone or open the door and then mouthed " we are closed". I saw a gentleman leaving so when he opened the door I walked in. The ladies smirked and almost laughed and proceeded to tell me that they were sorry but they were closed. I became upset bc I was there at the door in plenty of time before the 6 o'clock closing time for them to do what I needed but they just simply refused to let me in until it was actually after 6. I said I even called ahead and said I was about to be there, trying to be courteous. They argued with me for over 10 mins saying that I wasn't there until 6 and that they don't lock their door until 6. I said well you just told me on the phone at 5:51 that you had your doors locked. So which is it? I reiterated that I was there in plenty of time to complete my transaction if they had just allowed me to enter. The lady asked me very rudely what I even needed. Once I told her that it was just a drop off, no payment needed etc the other attendant changed her tune and began to help me once she realized it could be completed in less than 1 min. The other lady continued to be extremely rude and said "you don't even have the label taped on, not even prepared". I said I didn't have that tape at home and I'd be glad to pay for a piece of theirs and that I would do everything myself if they would please just scan the package in for me. I was begging at this point. I touched the roll of tape on the counter to try and help and the lady snatched it away from me and said so nastily "NO! this is OUR tape not for you to use". I said nicely that I didn't know and again I'd be glad to pay for the use of their materials. The other girl who had changed her tune very kindly said no. You can use our tape. Scanned my package, gave me my receipt, and was complete in less than 1 min. The ladies now had to stay nearly 12 mins late to help me. If they had simply allowed me in to drop this off at 5:58, they wouldn't have been late at all. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business and just with other human beings period! It was not my intention to be rude and come in at the last min but sometimes things are out of our control and we all just need a little grace from time to time. read more
