The moving industry has numerous outfits such as this one that operates like brokers of moving contractors. They typically do nothing but generate the sale. The tricky part is that they lowball the estimate and when they true it up to the actual cost you have no choice but to pay the price. In addition, there are typically many extra costs that are never communicated upfront. I was very concerned about the primitive road that led to my property, but the sales rep was adamant that smaller trucks could deliver and a scout truck would guide the delivery truck. Pure fiction. My delivery driver unloaded everything himself without assistance to a storage unit 23 miles from my home. Numerous items were broken and I lost a few items as well. The $6000 I spent was a colossal waste of money. I could have done the same thing renting a Uhaul truck at a third of the cost. Never again. read more

Elderly Fraud My 83 year old Mother is moving from Latham, NY to be near her daughter in Atlanta,GA. Moms items were packed and loaded by United Moving Experts on 6/14/19. Anyway, the next week we called customer service at United Moving Experts to find out more information. We were told that the normal delivery time was between 3-10 business days. We heard from some driver in Indiana and he wanted the delivery address again. Nothing. We called customer service at United Moving Experts again, and they reminded us that DOT gives them 21 business days at max to deliver. After 3 weeks of teasing us on when my mother's items would be delivered or where they are, we received another call last night on the 4th of July, and they left a message that they were leaving for Georgia and to call him back. When I did 5 minutes later, no ring, no answering machine, no nothing the number was Hornell NY 607-968-7030 They also called my mother's phone at 7:22 Leaving a voice message saying a truck was going to Georgia and was now being loaded and he needed me to to "call and confirm." I made 7 calls back to this number between 7:23pm and 7:31 pm. There was no outgoing message but I left messages anyway, hoping it was getting through. A couple of times there was no ring tone when I called and I heard loud highway sounds in the background, so I said "hello" several times without any response. Not sure why they needed a "confirmation"... After packing up my mother on June 14th it's now July 5th and over 21 business days. Now we were told that since no one picked up last night the truck just left and moms items are not on the truck, but in another warehouse somewhere in NY or PA, for an unknown amount of time, no one knows for sure. At this point I want someone else to handle this since they can't seem to get the job done. They quoted her $3,000 for the trip and she's paid already $1,783. My 83 year old mother had all her items packed and organized for them and then the drivers from Express Van lines charged my mother an extra $1,000 more to wrap up the last few boxes (about 5) for a total of about $4100. I tried to arrange another moving company to actually move her items but they won't even tell us the address of the warehouse until we pay the balance of $1,164 If I go with another company to move her, the job will cost my 83 year old mother a total of $6,804 to move her one bedroom items 1005 miles. Look very closely at all the other reviews. If it's a 5 star, the people only had a few items moved or they must be social media marketers. This was just a furniture move, no appliances. Here is what they do: 1. You call them and tell them what you want moved and they give you an estimate of the cost 2. They send a representative to your home and they visually see what you have, where it's located and the approximate weight. 3. The main office will call you back and adjust the cost accordingly and send you a contract to sign. (there are a lot of little add-on's in the contract, be sure you read them because the mover WILL add that cost to your move and they won't tell you until AFTER they have all of your belongings on their truck. Here is what happened next: 4. The mover shows up the night before, looks at the inventory list and told me that there is no way he can fit all that stuff on his truck. (Had to rent a U-haul and get friends over to take over half the stuff) 5. Mover totally trashed the walls at the bottom of the stairs and damaged some of the furniture. 6. In the new house we moved into, we had just had the wood floors refinished and new carpet, mover did not put anything down to protect the floors (we were told during the initial contract talks that this is part of the service) and they refused to take their shoes off inside. 7. Once everything was loaded onto the truck they informed me that the cost was going to be another $1300 due to the unexpected size of the furniture, and added stairs. Keep in mind, they are now only taking less then half of the furniture then originally quoted. 8. They would only take cash, but I said no, check or credit card. They agreed on credit card but wouldn't off load truck until the payment was posted. (took only 10 minutes). Be very careful when you deal with this company. read more

AVOID USING THIS COMPANY. I saw there were some bad reviews, but also got a quote from this company that was much less than other companies, so I thought how bad could it be? It was a terrible experience. Before you put your deposit down, the representative you get is very responsive (I had Trevor), and will seem very willing to be flexible with you. They'll promise you all these things. For instance I paid $100 more for my own individual truck, which Trevor promised me would only hold my own things and was definitely possible. I was feeling pretty good and things were going smoothly. Then I put my deposit down, and it became impossible to get ahold of Trevor anymore. He avoided my calls and wouldn't call me back. It also became clear that he was blatantly lying about certain details of the move, as well as just in general. I then had to talk to customer service representatives, who had no indication that I was to get my own truck. It took many many (aggressive) phone calls to finally get them to realize that I had paid extra for a truck (it was apparently never written down anywhere in their records) and then they told me that my own truck would never have been possible because my move was too small. This is just one example of the clear lies Trevor told me. And then when the moving company came (United Moving Experts is a broker company, who claims they make sure all the movers have extensive training), it was one of the most sketchy experiences I've ever had. They wouldn't tell me what moving company they were with, wouldn't let me take a picture of their logo, and also tried to get me to pay an extra $500, saying that's what they were owed. When I refused to pay, they stopped insisting on the extra $500 (so clearly it was a hussle). They also wouldn't answer any questions about how many stops they had (as it was not a solo truck), and they were no dividers or anything in their trucks like I was promised. They were super suspicious and I doubt they had any training at least on customer service. So I sent them away. In the end we didn't use their service, and they refused to give me a refund on my deposit. So now I'm out $1,400 to this scam of a company. I actually dealt with a representative named Michael S and not only did he explain everything in detail but he managed to get Myself, my family, and all my items from my 4br home safely and successfully to FL from CA. It was very hectic, especially with all the non stop calls from other company's. We had to move three states away for my work. It was sudden and unexpected, and we were scared and nervous. UME was able to come in and pack all of our belongings with great care and move them three states away without breaking, damaging, or loosing one single thing. I received a call from united moving experts after putting my information online requesting a quote for a move from NJ to Miami. I spoke with a Michael who was very informative about the industry. He walked me through the process and gave me a fair price compared to the other 3 companies I spoke with. Our move was from Missouri to Wisconsin. Pick up was to be on a Thursday and Delivery a week later on Saturday. After agreeing on a contract, we found out they are a BROKER, not a moving company. Don at United told me all their workers are drug tested and background checked. FALSE! Maybe people that work AT United are, but not the movers. The actual movers that came to our house for loading were found on CRAIGSLIST! For unloading, NO MOVERS SHOWED UP. It was just myself and the driver. Took us nearly 8 hours to unload a 27' U-Haul truck. Yes, an ACTUAL U-HAUL TRUCK was used for our move. Price? LOL. Our move cost us over $7,000, about $2500 MORE than our move from Wisconsin to Missouri. Oddly that is the amount we paid United. They purposely lowballed our estimate, delayed the final listing of goods and then 3 days before our move insusted we give them MORE MONEY up front. Reluctantly we did only because we knew we had no time to go elsewhere. Horrible service all around. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A SCAM! This company will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your money. This experience was one of the worst of my life. IF I COULD LEAVE 0 STARS I WOULD. I spoke with UME about a professional move from Saint Louis, MO w to Long Beach, CA, delivered on June 28, 2019. He quoted my move $1800 and I paid a deposit that same day. When I spoke to a Quality Assurance team member, I was honest with the amount of furniture that would be moved. My inventory was correct as noted that it should be in the contract. "All adjustments should be made prior to pick up to prevent any unexpected price changes upon pickup." On the day of the move, one driver showed up with an 18 wheeler that looked like it was about to break down in front of me. The driver of the truck was rude and pushy. He stated that my inventory took up a larger square footage in the truck than estimated, increasing my fee. The drive then proceeded to charge me $800 more than the quote. While I understand that an original quote is not always accurate this was a significant difference, especially when I went through the necessary process of assessing my inventory and then still running into hidden fees. After going over the price, the driver even tried to claim that my deposit I already paid to UME did not count toward the price. I called Jennifer from customer service explaining this upcharge but no one rom UME responded to my voicemail. After all this, the truck driver then hired two random locals in street clothes to move my things and furniture. Couches and boxes were thrown around carelessly and it was clear these were not professional movers. Over the next month I was continuously called promising that my things would be delivered and everytime I would then receive a call that the truck was broken down and no where near my drop off location. I again called UME, leaving a message, explaining the situation and the unprofessionalism of the move. I left my phone number and never received a call back. I took off three days of work expecting a delivery. During these weeks of waiting, I continuously called the Customer service line but no one ever picked up. Even after leaving messages with a call back number I never heard from UME. Finally, I received my stuff but not without difficulty. The truck broke down 30 minutes from my delivery point. Mechanics could not fix the truck and it was towed to a truck yard. I then had to rent my own uhaul and drive it to the truck yard. Finally my stuff was loaded into the Uhaul and I then had to drive it to Long Beach and move my items into my apartment myself. After looking through my items tables were damaged and boxes were completely mangled even though all items were packed appropriately and fragile items labeled glassware. Again showing the move was unprofessional. I wrote a demand letter asking for a refund based on the fact that the move was not professional. I had to move things into my apartment myself and I even had to pay for a uhaul! paid for a professional and timely coordinated move, which I did not receive. I was promised that I would have a liaison between myself and UME partners to ensure that my move went smoothly, but this did not occur. Finally after this letter was sent I receive a call from UME. He states that they can only refund me for the deposit I paid them. He said they would not pay for the damaged tables or anything else. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS COMPANY IF THEY DO NOT COVER DAMAGES! Since I did not have time to argue I accepted the refund of my deposit. Here we are three weeks later and nothing. I called them again leaving a message and no one responds. I will definitely be filing a suit and posting reviews to every review website out there. That is how strongly I feel this company mistreats their customers. They will do anything to take your money. CAUTION, CAUTION, CAUTION!! As a retired Air Force Officer, we moved frequently and consequently, know the difference between a reputable company and an unethical company. As a result, we encourage you to avoid United Moving Experts. 1. They are not a moving company, but a broker. 2. They intentionally "lowball" their estimates, and consequently, our cost was 52% higher than the estimate. 3. Although our contract with United Moving Experts was specifically, "cost by weight", the moving company charged by "cubic feet". 4. When the movers arrived, they insisted that the "medium size" boxes (purchased at Home Depot) were actually "large boxes." This, although the boxes were marked appropriately and met the applicable size requirements. 5. Their customer service, although initially "friendly," ultimately was valueless. United Moving Experts (UME) used dishonest means to estimate and bill my move, resulting in significant financial loss to me. Their sales representative Greg told us that 30% of their moving estimate was all that would be needed to secure our move date, but he said that if we increased our payment toward the estimate to 60% that we would owe less to the carrier on the day of the move. This turned out to be a lie. In my subsequent conversations with the UME head of customer service, Frank Stone, I was informed that UME passes none of its security to the carrier, and the driver for Direct Movers LLC, said the same on the day of the move. My experience was the same as many of the reviewers here: a guaranteed not-to-exceed estimate was adjusted by the carrier through a day-of 'calculation' by cubic feet, although I was assured in advance by multiple UME representatives that this would not happen. The actual cost of my move ended up at over 2x the estimate provided to me by UME, and again I was told by Frank at UME that the problem was that I didn't throughly read and understand my contract with them. In the end, I did end up paying a deposit near 30% of the total cost of the move after the adjustments. One wonders if the carrier presumes the fee to UME is always 1/3 of the total cost and creates a fictional cubic-foot adjustment to make that math work out. I left messages for and attempted to reach Anthony Hill, who I understand is one of the company owners, but I did not receive any return call explaining how the extra money secured by UME would be refunded, although it was fraudulently obtained by their representative. Some additional notes: * The day before my move I asked a UME representative to reassure me that the carrier they had selected would not attempt a cubic-foot adjustment -- and this assurance was provided! * My experience with the carrier was equally problematic -- goods damaged in transit; refusal to provide evidence for egregious adjustment; refusal to communicate with UME on my behalf * My conversations with UME after the billing problems became evident stretched over hours and days. In the end, it became clear that I was being strung along and that Frank and UME had no intent to reconcile the injustice. read more

Grabbed one of the workings when he was not near the crew chief, and answers were sketchy! Asked for identification of the 3 movers, and they proceeded to leave. Guess Hometown movers didn't like my questions. Hometown Movers tried to use the move as their bargaining chip - "well, if you want your stuff moved, you need to sign the contract." Hometown Movers left, since we continued to question them. Back to United Moving Experts. United Moving Experts promises you the world for the move, but the actual move is a horror show. DO NOT HIRE! I reached out to this company as I mistakenly thought that they were one in the same as United Allied Van Lines, the company I trusted. What should have been an easy and stress free relocation experience turned out to be about a 45 day nightmare that I was worried I would never wake up out of. Their communication was spot on until the day my brother paid a deposit, then suddenly they disappeared. I could not get responses to email, voice mail or text. They missed 3 pickups and then suddenly wanted an additional $350.00. The dispatcher, " Daryl " actually said to me, I don't care what you do, I have my money!. When I mentioned that I would ask for a refund as they failed at all levels, he said, I don't care. 9 times out of 10, I will win. The Customer service person who misrepresented United name, Jared, suddenly disappeared from the map and Mike Scott, the so called, "moving expert", well, is he even a real person??? The company that they hired literally lost what was left of my household items and then, would not call me back, would not answer my calls, would not respond to texts or emails. When I inquired as to why when after almost 2 weeks of no response, he said he had to have hand surgury. This is a scam. Straight up. Here's how it works: UME will charge you $2500. For this fee they will promise a discounted rate with a "white glove carrier." In truth they will book you with a one star company, or worse, a moving company so terrible they cannot book their own moves and have to rely on UME scammers to get them jobs. The awful carrier you end up with will charge you the same rate they would have if you had called them up and booked them yourself. So, would you really pay $2500 extra for someone to find a poorly rated carrier for you? They will low ball your estimate. They will assure you they don't need a complete inventory from you after you sign the contract, that they've overestimated in your favor. They will ignore all requests for a complete inventory. They will promise you your quote is for pounds and then book you with a carrier who charges by square footage. Your carrier will be so awful they will show up two hours late, break most of your things, and treat you like garbage. You will end up paying many thousands of dollars more for your move than what was quoted. They will tell you they need a 60% deposit even tho the industry standard is much lower. They will keep any deposit you pay them for themselves and not pass anything on to the carrier. I know all this because it happened to me. Stay away from this corrupt business. These are not movers: they are brokers. They will low-ball the cost of your move, take a deposit from you, and subcontract your move to an actual moving company. If you are lucky, the subcontractor will be a reputable one. (I assume this is why there are some good reviews.) I was not so lucky. Their customer service people are very friendly. Everything seemed to be going fine until the day of my move from NJ to PA. I had given them a $550 deposit. The balance was supposed to be $850, subject to some small change if the estimated weight was off. The estimate they gave was 2000 lbs. It was a small move - I was living in a one bedroom apartment and left half my furniture behind - but I was prepared for the actual weight to be as high 2500 lbs. I gave them $500 in NJ. The we're supposed to collect the remaining $350 from my husband on the other end in PA. When they showed up in PA, the head guy from the moving company - my job was farmed out to Direct Movers in Union City, NJ - told my husband that the actual weight of my move had been 7000 lbs. Did you get that? The estimate was 2000 lbs. The "actual" weight was 7000 lbs. I have no doubt that this amount was falsified. Google "weight-bumping." So, suddenly my husband, who had expected to give the guys $350, was now expected to produce $1500 in cash. Again, did you get that? $350 vs $1500. The guy from Direct Movers knew he was full s*** and basically said, "Don't worry. I'll take care of you." and was "willing" to take $1000. How kind. We were supposed to be grateful that he was willing to screw us over a little bit less. We handed over $1000; they had our stuff. We contacted United Moving Experts while this scam was taking place, and they just kept saying they had told us the estimate was just an estimate. "Right. I get that," I kept saying, "But do you actually think your estimate was off not by 25%, not by 50%, not by 100%, but BY 250%?! You really think that EVERY SINGLE THING your estimator guessed was 20 lbs was actually 70 lbs???" They pretended not to get it. They stood by Direct Movers, who, by the way, have the worst online reviews I've ever seen. Do not use this company. In fact, do not use any broker, because you have no idea who will show up to move you, and, once they have your stuff in the truck, they can hold it hostage for however much they'd like. He asked if I " really wanted to make that mistake" and when I went to retort he said " don't start stuttering now". Scratched terribly my mothers furniture. Broke a lot of valuables. Overcharged her. Were abusive to her. Quoted us one price then changed the price dramatically when they were sitting outside of her house. And by dramatically I mean they upped the price $2000. Had us over a barrel. She needed to move and they took advantage of her. Companies like United Moving "Experts" have me question the good in people. They completely scammed us with their original price then ruined an already stressful situation for my 80 year old mother. read more

I needed to finally move some stuff from chicago to florida and my friend recommended united moving to me. I'm not sure about some of these reviews because I had a good experience with them. I spoke with Garrett the whole time, he was nice and explained the process to me. My stuff came in the 7 days they said it would. The movers didn't mind that it took several trips in my building's tiny elevator but of course I made sure to tip them well. Everything was in perfect condition thank god including my beloved rolltop desk, even though some of this stuff has been in storage for a long time. I got my deposit back with no issue. Hands down this was the easiest move I have ever made! It's already stressful enough moving, the last thing you want to worry about is your belongings not being in tact when you finally get to your new pad. This company never once made me worry about the safety of my stuff. They explained the whole process to me and they followed the timeline they estimated almost perfectly. 1. This company is broker, not career. You will be lucky of you'll have a good career, but you overpay the real price. They use a very aggressive technique on signing a contract. When you'll get one, you'll see that they are not responsible for anything, just collecting your money. Again, you'll need to work with the career yo adjust the details. 2. The cancellation policy is very strict and you'll loose 10% of your deposit. 3. Do not provide any payments until you read the contract. And they are not the cheapest one, ether. DO NOT TRUST. If I would give zero stars I could. I was planning a move of ~ half a truck from DC to NJ, and they quoted me 3800. I had a coworker onsite at the first stop, and another coworker at the second stop, while I was at the destination. They were supposed to arrive at location 1 at 8 am, then location 2 at 9:30 am (I confirmed this on the phone and over an email with customer service). They called me at 9 saying that they wanted to stop at location 2 first, so I said fine. They got there at 11:15 am, loaded up, did not have my coworker sign anything, and did not give a revised estimate. I was in communication with the driver all day while I was at work. While he was loading up at the first location, I texted him asking when I should call for payment, but that I would be on the phone for the next 30 minutes. He called me 30 minutes later to say he was loading up still and he would let me know when he left for Alexandria. (He did not respond to my original text). An hour later, he texted me saying he was close to the 2nd pickup (which was originally supposed to be pickup #1). My coworker went over, but it was another 45 minutes before he actually arrived. He loaded up the truck without giving a revised estimate, and left without having her or myself sign ANYTHING (this is against their contract). I get a call around 3 pm from him saying "I've got your revised estimate." and quoted it $15,000. I said there was no way I could pay that, and was confused as to how it almost quadrupled, when the original space estimate I gave them was fairly accurate. He continued to say he can not return my inventory, and is keeping it in storage until we pay a fine. After speaking with customer service multiple times, the driver called me back saying he needed my fax to send over legal paperwork. I told him what he was doing and leaving the pickup location without me signing anything was illegal, and he said he would drop my stuff on the side of the road. I am waiting to hear back from customer service, but will most likely call the cops. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with a vendor. Ever. read more

I was looking to move to Georgia and several companies I had talked to their dates where too far from the time I needed to move by, out of all five companies I talked to they were the best choice I made regarding moving they were very helpful and Garrett was very attentive and professional set me up with a date and everything was taken at the appointment date and it arrived the day I was told to be delivered, quick, easy and reliable, I would most def recommend this company to my friends and family, Everything I had pack got to the location just how I packed it, moving was always hard or just finding a serious company I think I found some reliable guys and will not think twice before using them again. read more

This was the worst experience possible. Do not confuse them with United Van Lines. These people are not movers, they're brokers and they book you to the most disreputable companies imaginable. Then when you call them back to ask for help, United Moving Experts simply washes their hands of you and refuses to even respond. I initially spoke to a smooth talking young man named John Stevens who gave me an over the phone quote of $5,117 for moving our furniture and goods from Napa, California to Sandy, Utah. It sounded very reasonable so I put down a deposit of $1,117. Four days before the move, another smooth talking young man phoned me to do an itemized list of our property. At the end of our conversation, he advised me our weight would be very heavy and the fee went up to $8,700. And he takes another charge of $2000 on my Visa. Now I'm in a tough spot. Our house has been sold and the new owners are moving in as we leave in 4 days. Two days later I sold off a side by side fridge and a wine fridge, lessening the weight by about 400 pounds. On moving day, a an undersized Budget rental truck shows up 3 1/2 hours late with paperwork sporting a South Coast Movers logo. The driver walks around our house marking things on a list. Then he makes a phone call and announces the price for moving is now $14,560...and he won't take a credit card. I have to write him a check for $7,590, which he deposits electronically and doesn't load an item until it clears. I'm stuck and have no choice. The new owners are in the street with their truck full of furniture. Since the truck is so small, our property is wedged in so tightly that many articles end up broken. And their policy on broken items is 60 cents per pound only. So if an antique vase weighing one pound is broken, you get 60 cents. So off we drive to Utah on a Monday. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday pass and our property has not arrived. I contact the original booking agent, John Stevens, for help but he doesn't bother to respond at all. Late Friday evening, a different rental truck arrives in Utah at our new home. This time, the driver says they are from First Way Movers. He demands $3,253 in cash or he'll leave with our goods. I go to the bank and get the cash...after all I had no choice. Whatever you do, avoid these scam artists like the plague. read more

I received a call from Untied Moving after looking for quotes online. A representative explained the process & insisted I made a reservation before we hung up. At the beginning of the call, i informed him that I didn't want to reserve a date yet, I was just looking for a quote or a range to expect. He kept saying i won't find another company to ship my things for less and that it's important i call him back to reserve something. He was very pushy and kept telling me what i need to do as far as speaking with my fiance before I decided to reserve a date with them. I was looking to ship a king size mattress, 2 box springs & 4/5 boxes. Not even a whole room worth of furniture. He said it would be a little over $1400. He sent over paperwork via email. The "bed fee" was $52 & the rest was for standard shipping. So a couple days later when he called me back, i answer the phone and i was greeted with "hey, did you still need your stuff shipped" i didn't get a name, what business he was calling from, he didn't give me at least a little reminder of our conversation. So i politely apologized for not knowing who it was because 20 different moving companies has called me over the past week. He said "united moving. We spoke & your quote was 1400" i then remembered & said, "oh yes i remember the paperwork you emailed. Unfortunately that quote is a little too much for me just moving a bed & boxes. But i do thank--" & he cuts me off & says "Have a good day" & hangs up. I get that he may be frustrated he didn't get a reservation, but in the business of customer service.. One should know how to control their emotions & remain professional. Not pushy or rude. read more

The bad experience ever I had. The worst company to dealt with , they never on time. They won't confirm the timing until you make the payment and after that the time they will schedule as per them and keep waiting the customers for such a long schedule hours and won't show up. They completely wrapped my belongings and got them to Hollywood safely and for a great price. Mike was very honest and helpful. The workers were punctual and got everything done in no time. United Moving Experts are brokers. I am warning you, this company is here to make a quick dollar off of non-experienced movers. 1. Everything will start perfectly, you will make contact, the "estimations" will be "extremely accurate," you receive your papers, sign them, and then the deception and finger pointing begins. a. You will have to pay about 30% of the move up-front, which is solely their effort of collecting your money. Not only that, but the estimation on the original weight is completely inaccurate. I walked through my apartment and outlined EVERYTHING to EXTREME detail with the original broker I spoke with. Then, when the "check-up" call takes place, just prior to your move, they will ramp up the estimation, and sense you have already signed, you are basically stuck with the complete lies they lead on about. b. This company deceives and gets you to believe what they are saying because they honestly come off as honest people, but the further you dig into everything, you realize what is happening: they are stealing your money, and providing a very, very sub par service. c. I worked with about 4 different guys in the matter of 60 days, each one telling me they would be my contact the entire time. Every time I would call back, I was informed they were no longer with the company. d. They let you know after you sign and get everything going, the pick-up and delivery of your items are ONLY ESTIMATES with windows that are weeks long. 2. All being said, this company does do the bones of what they tell you they will do. They hire HORRIBLY rated moving companies, some of which that don't even register with the Better Business Bureau. The company they hired for my move had ratings and reviews where they keep individuals' items for MONTHS at a time. MONTHS. What causes these extended holds is the fact that whatever moving company they hire is trying to load multiple moves onto 1 truck, so your items literally get put on the same truck as another individuals move. NO THANKS. 3. I completely cancelled my trip, lost all my deposits, well over $1000 dollars, because there was absolutely NO way I was allowing this sub par moving company hired by hagglers (UME) to take my items of of my doorstep. The moral of the story is this: Moving companies are expensive, there is no doubt, but I SWEAR to you this company will NOT save you money. They make you feel as if they will, they swindle and coddle you to feel safe and then the fees begin to RACK up. In you move, before you hire this dirty company, do this: 1. Get a large UHAUL, pack everything into boxes, call a moving company (Two Men & a Truck, or another local company) and simply hire two guys to come move your stuff onto the truck. Then once you reach where you are headed in the UHAUL, hire two moving guys to come move it all into your new place. All you will have to do is pack and unpack and this process will only cost you about $1200 TOTAL by the end of it. This company will cost you nearly double of what the initial estimation process was. United Moving experts will PEEL you for money, please trust me, you have been warned. read more

Worst experience by far. They started out friendly and very reassuring. I gave them a window to pick up, they called and confirmed a day, then never showed up. It took me HOURS to get ahold of someone. When I finally did they told me it'd be 3 more days. Everything in my house was packed. I had no where for my daughter and I to go as we made arrangements for travel THAT day. They finally agreed to reroute a truck to arrive that night... They didn't show. The drivers eventually called me late and said they'd be arriving the next morning. They were two hours late. The arrived in a 26 foot truck with only a few other items stored in it. By the time I realized how poorly they were packing the truck they had already wasted so much space. I ended up in the truck myself packing things and loading things. I'm a small female and two grown men were standing to the side watching me. Ended up running out of room. I only had a few items left and told them if they rearranged and packed appropriately they could fit it all. They didn't and left my belongings behind and assured me another truck would come for them. The first truck arrived in CO, they unloaded all of my things into a storage unit. I arrived to the unit the next morning to find my stuff practically thrown in the unit. However, they managed to fit it all in a 10x20 storage unit but couldn't get all of my stuff in a 26 foot truck. Makes no sense. I had to completely rearrange the unit which ended up allowing me even more space but came to discover all of my tools had been stolen. I loaded them in the truck myself and they are no where to be found. Approx $500 in tools. I made several phone calls to United Moving Experts and the manager of the company who was contracted out. No call back from the driver's manager and United Moving Experts refused to give me any sort of reimbursement. They encouraged me to fill out an insurance claim and said they would deal with the trucking company. I have been unable to file a claim as their database doesn't recognize the trucking company's name and will not submit the claim. They have not returned my calls to fix this issue. After several days passed, the manager of the trucking company called completely unaware of the situation. He said he had another truck in the area and could get the rest of my belongings. Assured me he would deal with his previous drivers and get my things home safely. I had a total of 23 boxes and misc items. They showed up to the house and decided not to load anything and left without letting me know that my items were still in my rental. I ended up having to get someone to remove them from the rental property and drive the items hours away to my mothers house until I can make the 14 hour drive to get them myself. That will cost me about $500. My boss has paid these guys over $4100. Their first estimate was almost half of that. United Moving Experts stated we would get charged by pound however the trucking company charges by cubic feet. Their communication has been HORRID. Trying to get ahold of anyone to deal with anything is a joke. Not only did we spend the $4100 to not have all of my things delivered, but I know am out $500 for my stolen tools, $150 for a trashed piece of furniture and $500 in travel expenses to go back and get the rest of my things. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This company is fraudulent and does not care to see your move handled appropriately, just wants your money. read more

Do not use this company. They are a brokers. They take half (!) of negotiated price upfront convincing you that "Final Price can go Down, but will never go Up". That is it. After that they leave you alone with actual movers. Movers negotiate with you New price, because second half is too small. Brokers do not pick up phone(s). Bottom-line: My stuff was not moved and upfront money were not return. Scam. read more
