They did an excellent job. The estimator was thorough in taking inventory virtually of the furniture in my home. He provided me with a written estimate a few days later. Andrea, who coordinated and managed my move was professional, efficient and courteous. It must be difficult to keep calm dealing with very stressed people like me. She communicated every step of the way, texting me with the time the men left the office, to their ETA. The crew, led by LT, consisted of Cam, Layne, Nykese and Andre. These five gentlemen were very careful and covered the floor and doorways with padding, not hesitating to ask questions, and did not waste any time in loading up my 2,700 square foot home. They worked well together as a cohesive team, which is quite rare these days. The next day, I met the crew in Dover. Once again, they arrived on time, unloaded everything, put furniture together, and were completed in record time. The final estimate came in on budget, as expected, with no surprises! I recently used First Rate Movers for a move within Delaware, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. From the very beginning, the team was professional, communicative, and helpful. I used First Rate Movers a second time, and I'm not quite as pleased. I originally made the appointment for 8am. I got an email from Brett the day before the move asking if I could move my appointment to the 11-noon slot because they had a bigger, out-of-state move who needed my spot. I agreed because I really didn't have any other options. It's not like you can reschedule a move with different movers with one day notice. 11 came and went. The movers called at noon saying they'd be on their way soon. They arrived at 2. Six hours after my original appointment. The movers are pleasant, quick, and careful with my belongings. My only concern is that being a repeat customer and scheduling my move almost a month in advance should have granted me some type of priority. I shouldn't have been bumped to accommodate someone else, especially with only one day notice. This inconvenience costed me a day in my move and put me behind schedule. I regularly recommended this company on social media. I don't think I will anymore. read more

We were very happy with First-Rate movers from the initial contact through the move and follow-up. The office got back to my quickly after my initial inquiry by email and let me know when to expect the quote. I gave them all the information about the move and they sent the quote over as expected. I had to update the move date a couple of times and they quickly handled that. They confirmed the move date a few days prior and contacted me when the team left their office (good for confirming the travel times and making sure that we were prepared). The movers showed up on time and did everything in the expected time. They were attentive and careful; we didn't have any problems with either the furniture or walls/carpets/floors. The quote was spot-on and they didn't pad the travel time or move time and were very friendly to work with. Very happy with Brett and First Rate Movers. Prompt, move hours within estimate. Handled items carefully and made sure everything was wrapped in moving blankets. Team was very friendly. Brett personally loaded the truck as well as packed our items into a storage unit with great care. He had to bring his smaller truck and knew we might not fit, said he would come back and pick up anything that didn't fit at no charge. Ended up being able to fit the couple of items that didn't make it into the truck into my care, so was not an issue. Also worked to fit us into his schedule on only about a month's notice. Would definitely recommend these guys - local business, very courteous. I was very happy with the service from First-Rate movers. I used them with the previous owners but found out it had changed hands when I needed them this time. Brian was very responsive with the quote and the automatic notifications as the move date approached were great. Andre and Keith were the movers and they did an excellent job fitting everything into the truck. We weren't sure there was going to be space but they managed to get everything in and well secured and placed. They hustled and got the job done with just a bit over the original time estimate because we took time to get the last cumbersome pieces in place. We had a great experience with this moving company. The three men who provided the service (Keith, Andre and Jacob) provided great customer service and were very professional in all ways. The three of them obviously knew what they were doing as they seemingly effortlessly moved bulky furniture, etc. It was also refreshing to see employees who seemed happy to do their job with all three of them having very positive attitudes. There were no issues with our move. They arrived on time and actually got the move completed earlier than had been expected. Pricing seemed fair. I was very impressed with First-Rate Movers. Brett gave me an estimate and even though the time line exceeded the estimate, he stuck to what he stated as costs. The team of Glenn, Brian, and Brett (and Brett's dad at the one end) helped me with the moving truck because my move in date differed from my move out date. They included loading up my storage unit and they even closed my account there for me since I was at the house when they loaded the unit. They never got upset when I asked them to move things multiple times due to me changing my mind. I trusted them completely and would highly recommend them to anyone moving!!! read more

We contacted Brett to help us move the contents of our 5 bedroom house into storage. We thought the pricing and plan for the move over 3 days was very good. Brett and his moving crew were very professional and careful with our furniture and belongings. Brett was willing to work with us on a move date although it was short notice. The crew was friendly and professional and we enjoyed the moving experience. They were able to carefully pack our storage unit and actually fit everything so that we didn't have to rent another unit for overflow. I chose First-Rate for my local move (from one apartment to another in the same complex) because I didn't want to use a large carrier and they are located in the same area. Everyone who spoke with me by phone to work out the estimate and arrange for the move was pleasant and helpful. Brian, the owner, was extremely responsive/hands on and helpful throughout the process. Moving an entire house with TVs/bedroom sets/furniture is difficult, and any issues that incurred were swiftly fixed by the owner. The movers were very friendly, and Rose, the coordinator was also very helpful and kind. First Rate wasn't cheapest option, but trust me, do not cheap out on moving all of your expensive belongings! Couldn't be happier. I needed two guys for two hours to unload my moving POD. There was a hitch with the POD delivery and Brett was as accommodating as could be, sent his team over as soon as the POD was finally delivered. The guys worked fast, no breaks, let me know when my two hours were running out to give me the option of extending (unwrapping my furniture) if I chose. These guys were so fantastic. We needed help emptying out two very large storage units and getting all of our belongings onto a 26' truck. They are Tetris masters! Initially we had doubts that everything would fit - we're a family of 7! - and thought for sure we'd have to leave some things behind.
