Regardless, my first estimate from a video tour with Mason was for less than $4,600.00. About an hour into the move, I got a call from Matt who advised that I needed a 5th man...although it would cost more, it really wouldn't since it would be less time to do the job. About an hour or two later, I was called by Mason who said that the 5th guy increased the cost by $900.00 to $5,500.00. I reluctantly agreed. Next, a sixth man was provided without any authority by me or any notice from Black Tie Moving. After the move, which took about 10 hours, at close out, I got an invoice for $7,800.00+ and a credit card charge of $7,445.19. I spoke with Black Tie (Mason) and I offered to pay $6,200.00. They advised they would come down by $300.00 but refused to negotiate further. Long story short, after disputing the charges on my credit card, I am compelled to pay the entire amount based on their shady dealings and contract of adhesion. So, in review, there was an original estimate of $4,600.00 turned into $7,445.19. I strongly suggest after reading this review, stay clear of this company, unless you realize that you will be paying about $3,000.00 more than the estimate they give you.

We weren't there to oversee the packing and weren't totally sure what to expect. The crew finished packing up the PODS more thank two hours sooner than we anticipated (literally saving us hundreds of dollars). Our things were in storage for over a month and the PODS were just delivered and unloaded. I need to give credit where it's due. The PODS were packed SO well! Everything was wrapped and padded perfectly and nothing broke (even the fragile things that were barely unbroken when they were loaded). I am honestly so impressed. We have moved numerous times and this was our best experience with a moving company.
