It felt like every camera I wanted to buy I wouldn't be able to take delivery of by the end of the year so I made some compromises in order to get something from these guys. Even after being told my cameras should ship they were delayed and I missed deadline after deadline. At one point I even had to have them redirect my shipments to the 4 Seasons where I was staying on holiday in an attempt to actually take delivery of what I bought and they still didn't deliver. Incomplete shipments, incorrect shipments, and here I am months later and I'm still dealing with trying to solve an order from December. The only star I can give to the folks at Abel was in their support department. The guy they had me working with, Jason, did help me put together the package I wanted even if I couldn't actually get what he was telling me to buy. He had a fast response time even if every time I talked to the guy he was telling me things were delayed or he flat out didn't have them in the warehouse. I honestly don't know how this place does business since they never seem to have anything on the shelf and then after almost three months awaiting a lens that I tell them I don't want anymore they try to tell me that I have to keep it.

Needed to make DVD-s from a file for a festival and that's hard nowadays, we were looking for…read morebetter quality and a small local business to do it. Harder to find these days even in LA! Found Digital Lab, I liked what I saw on their site, called to double check things. I liked that was easy to get someone on the phone. Pro-s - Got the DVD-s -quality is decent. They pick up the phone. But! And they are many! They don't make menu-s as they say on the site. They made labels but never told me via email or text ((and we did communicate for invoicing) what I want on them. They didn't put the entire title of the movie or my info. They put theirs!!!! They excused themselves by blaming it on me that I didn't ask for it and put it in the form. The form didn't have any room to put anything on and didn't have the option for transfer MP4 to DVD! So we put a lot on it and still went back and forth via phone and text about it! Another issue, this business is located on Olive on a big building, not a small mom's and pop's. No validation, have to check in w. security before you get on the elevator, they need to call it for you! You deal w. receptionists only. While they are nice, you can't go over your order with them, they don't have the expertise! Pay-CC only, it'd be nice to have cash, Pay Pal, etc - other options. A tad pricey, but that isn't the issue. The order took longer than I was hoping, but not the issue. A lot would have been avoided if we could talk in person w. Raymond or someone in the facility. But they use this place more like a drop off or pick. I did write him an email about my experience here. Mixed bag. Not the intimate, small operation I was looking for!

Two of the conversions were good and the other two are unwatchable. The tapes play fine on my home VCR but their equipment seems faulty. They will absolutely not give me a refund so I will eat the cost and go somewhere else to get the job done right. They take good care of your assets, and go the extra mile to get top quality transfers and (re)masters. All at very reasonable prices. High recommend! Long Review: Top-notch services here! When I first walked into the studio, it reminded me of the recording studios I grew up going to with my dad when he was producing records 40 years ago. Big, thick, heavy soundproof door. Dimly-lit room. Vintage recording and mixing equipment. Old, black leather couch. Ripped carpet with tape on the floor. Uneven steps. The smell of old vinyl. Mmmmm! I fricken love coming to this place! In fact, I was so lucky to find it. Because the quality of work is so high, that they literally serve all of the classic Hollywood music, film, TV libraries. Literally all of them. At any given moment you can see the names of famous people on the outer cases of tapes laying around waiting to be transferred. All these years later, we're remastering dad's tapes, vinyls and 8-tracks. Round N Wound has all the equipment to do it too. I've used their services 4 times so far and I'm always so surprised at how reasonably priced they are for what we ask them to do. It's really amazing stuff. And they are very trustworthy with your valuable assets. You can't go wrong. Bring your stuff here!
