We've all had that moment. That moment where your washing your hands and catch your reflection and duck in fear because a wildebeest is staring back at you. No? Only me? Fine then. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency and precision offered by Unique. I walked in to find 3 girls working on seperate clients and was told to have a seat. 5 minutes later I was reclining back in a chair with my purse braced to my chest. The nice girl (who probably shared her name and I would tell you if my memory were not limited to coffee and dog breeds) cleaned up my eyebrows ($7) perfectly, keeping with their natural shape and getting rid of the kamikaze strays along the way. She also offered to take care of my upper lip.. I never really considered it a problem but being fairly vain and extremely self-conscious, I opted in for a mere $5 more. Not to say pain wasn't a factor- i assure you it was, I was in and out of the shop in less than 10 minutes with minimal irritation (redness was completely gone within 15 minutes). I consider this a perfectly fine stop for simple hair-removal needs.. I don't know if I would suggest it for anything detailed or overly sensitive folk. I assure you the second I walk out of there missing an eyebrow I will follow up with a review. read more

This is my go to place in the neighborhood for eye brows. don't be fooled by the $7 price and the semi scary looking neon signs everywhere. i gave them a try and i will never go to another place! i never know who my person is but everyone at this place knows what they are doing and they keep my brows looking super sharp. you can't beat it! if you are in the area, definitely give them a try! read more

I have to say, I absolutely love this threading salon. I used to get my eyebrows waxed. Eventually, though, I read an article in Lucky Magazine about this editor who was always offered top-of-the-line eyebrow waxing opportunities, but always turned them down in favor of her favorite hole-in-the-wall $6 threading salon. I started to wonder whether it was time I try my local $7 threading salon. So I did. I used to attend school just down the street from Unique Shape, so I stopped in one day before class and was EXTREMELY happy with the results. My eyebrows looked GORGEOUS. There is one woman in particular (she almost seems like she is the manager or something of the shop) that does a REMARKABLE job. I swear, my eyebrows look thick, beautifully shaped, and celebrity-esq. I keep going back to Unique Shape and I intend to do so for a very long time. read more

This eyebrow threading salon is phenomenal. I've been here many different times, and the ladies here always do a terrific job with my eyebrows. I have a tendency to let my eyebrows get bushy and thick before I go into a threading salon to get my brows back on point. I've always had a disastrous job done on my eyebrows by another threading franchise, but never has it happened here. I don't even have to tell the ladies her "not too thin" and they know exactly how thin or thick I want my brows to be. I really enjoy this place, I feel comfortable and the ladies here are very nice. I asked for just a cleanup (you know the hairs you can't quite get when tweezing your own brows?) The woman (Nicky, the manager), says "ok" and then gives me eyebrows with no shape...just two arches. Absolutely horrible. Will never come back, nor will I suggest to clients I have in the area. Who knows how long it will take for my brows to grow back. Horrible! read more

I'm very surprised to read a bad review. I've been here twice and both times Laxmi made me look better than any other recent brow threading place I have been to in years. She listens, she lets me grow it out and she shapes it so my eyebrows look natural. Also, I never feel pain from her even on thick grown out sections. read more

This is the only place I go to maintain great lashes and brows. They all understand what you are saying and give you exactly what you want if you tell them. The customer service is excellent. Nikki owns this location and the one on Park Place. All of my coworkers have come here off of my recommendation and have never been disappointed. This place is good with the eyebrows but I went to get a henna and it was just horrifying. A henna is suppose to last two weeks or more I got my henna on Monday and its already off. And on top of that they charged me $30 plus tax!!! Like what!!!I feel so ripped off and disappointed never coming here ever again!! read more

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years, at many different locations. Until I came to Unique Shape, I never really realized how terrible an experience it could be -- some people do shaping better than others, some break hairs and leave a few, but not a big deal. If my eyebrows aren't perfectly matched, I'm usually okay with it. As a result, I am very willing to try new places based on ease of location and affordability. But then I came here and the owner (I forget her name - begins with an "N" or "M") did my eyebrows. For the first time ever, I looked in the mirror afterwards and was completely horrified by what I saw. My eyebrows were completely different shapes, and the one that had previously been slightly "better" shaped now looked even worse than its mismatched partner! I asked the lady to fix them, which she did (very reluctantly, insisting that they were matching). It wound up looking a little better, but still definitely not symmetrical and both brows were considerably thinner than I'd have liked as a result of having to re-match them (twice!). She also left/broke a LOT of hair. And as I left, they tried really hard to sell me some lotion and looked very disgruntled when I refused -- I hate it on principle when salons force products you don't need on you. I've been coming here since I moved into the area 4 years ago and overall I have been pretty satisfied, though I will say the quality depends on who threads you. There have been times when a new girl or someone I've never had before does me and my eyebrows end up slightly asymmetrical. Luckily, my hair grows pretty quickly so it's usually not a big deal. Nowadays I only go to the women I know, even if that means waiting until someone I trust is free. Come here if you're looking for cheap and quick threading, but don't come here if you're looking for good customer service. The women that work here are often rude (one once told me that I had lost weight because I used to be "very fat" and another suggested that I wax the bridge of my nose, which is something I've never heard before), but as someone who has been getting threaded for over 10 years this lack of customer service and rudeness seems fairly common at the cheaper beauty salons, plus the proximity to home and the inexpensive price make the insults negligible. read more

Be very careful getting the eyelash extensions. 1. They make you keep your eyes open, which is very strange and annoying. 2 The false eyelashes and glue they use are too heavy...Most of my natural eyelashes ripped out! However, the do a great job with threading eyebrows. They should stick to just threading. read more

Extremely disappointed with the service I received here. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for a few months now after switching from waxing and this was by far my worst experience. I felt like the woman rushed me out even though I was the only customer inside and came in soon after they opened. She spent absolutely no more than 5 minutes, and did absolutely no "trimming" at all with a scissor after the fact. Looking in the mirror my eyebrows look exactly the same, there was no effort to do shaping of any form. Overall I felt that the woman was annoyed and pissed off and I felt rushed out of there after a less than average job. Will not be returning. read more

I have to walk by this salon to get to school , so I figured ,what could $7 dollars hurt?My self esteem apparently -__- I used to think this place was ok, until my third visit.The first visit went great, since I made sure to exclaim in my most convincing angry voice,"Don't leave me without eyebrows!" The second visit the lady rushed, so when I get home I realized I'd been scratched up.I still didn't learn my lesson and return a third time D: They are all bla bla blabbing while working.My intuition told me to run but I didn't listen.The lady was working way too fast and laughed when I teared up a bit.Thru my teary vision my brows looked fine. Then when I get home I see not only are they super thin and unflattering, but one is thinner and shaped different!I didn't go back to complain the next day because there was no way I was gonna do it without losing my temper.Its been over a month and whenever I walk pass it I feel angry. My eyebrows are thin,dark and have a natural arch.Pretty hard to mess up unless your not paying attention! Went for lashes and the girl did a horrible job. There is a ton of glue on my lashes it pretty much feels like a brick! When I close my eyes it's painful. There is so much glue I am having a hard time trying to get them off. I am starting to think they are not even qualified to do lashes. read more

I went here specifically because of all of the Indian ladies inside. I figured "these women know how to embrace on to their eyebrows." Not like these white women who would rather have four feet of forehead, and no furrow. I looked up a the lady who was about to thread my brows. She didn't have luscious Jennifer Connolly brows that I lusted for. In fact they looked kind of crooked. But I was already in the chair so I was like okay, "f* it let's do this." I told her please, "Not too thin...I'd like to have some eyebrow when I'm done here." The lady ripped half my face off. It was hardly even a decent threading, she missed a few hairs in the line. She didn't take her time at all. She was watching the door the whole time. She said "do you need anything else?" "No thank you", I said. This is the point where people usually leave you alone. Then she said the thing that reaallllly pissed me off. After I said no thank you, she followed up with, "You sure? No upper lip area?" First of all, if I had upper lip hair, I'd ask for her help. But I didn't. I've never had a mustache in my life. I've never even thought about having a mustache until I came in here. If you asked for a wax below, sure I could use a little off the side poofs. How annoying! Seriously, lady try not to degrade your customers, especially people who DON"T HAVE MUSTACHES. How about worrying about your own black hairs. You should learn the difference, cause now you have a one star review, and you still have to wax your own mustache, while I will still have no mustache without waxing. BOOM! read more
