Writing this review as I sit waiting for the nail tech to fix my daughter's nails here at UNIQUE NAIL! Definitely unique and not in a good way! I'm very upset my daughters prom is on Sat I'd never been to this nail salon walked in with her and was told they'd take care of her I trusted them and left for the hour came back and couldn't believe how ugly they look globby and lopsided uneven just not nice at all. Started going to get my nails done more regularly and have noticed a decline in the quality of workmanship. I am unsure of what has changed possibly new management as there is an older lady managing appointments and the salon. Stopped into get my nails done and I had an unfriendly and abrupt man do my gel takeoff. He was bending my fingers and appeared to be annoyed that he had to do my nails. I was passed off to another older lady I had never seen before. I wanted a simple French manicure with a lime green tip. Her work was so poor that I told her to just give me white gel polish. I had streaks of polish bleeding on the side of my nails like I had done it myself. She kept filing and pulling to fix it that I told her I had to leave. It has been a long time since I had a full set. The place was convenient for me so I decided to try this place. I made an appointment. It is recommended because it was crowded. People are nice but not friendly. They didn't try to make a conversation with me. I did pedicure and full set. Foot massage was great. They took good amount of time to do leg massage. I showed pictures of the designs I want, the lady couldn't do much and ended up normal flower designs. Everything took about 2 hours. Wife and I were in town for a wedding and had a few hours to kill. Decided to get a mani/pedi and happened across this place., The massage chairs for the pedicure were awesome, better than a lot of places I've been to. The nails techs were all super nice and thorough. We opted for their top pedicure which I thought was well worth the cost and I never felt as through they were just trying to rush through customers. Lily, who I believe was either the manager or owner, was very nice and talked with us for a little bit. It seemed like she genuinely cared about our experience there and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our visit. She's incredibly picky, and she's been staring at her nails for a few days now, and keeps saying "these are the best nails I've ever had". On top of the great service I am so happy on how she took care of my gel manicure. Love it! She is a very professional down to earth lady and one thing I'm impress about her service There are no surprises on the pricing after she's done. I came to California to visit my family wanted a manicure. Unfortunately there was a witch lady customer that started accusing me of being rude. I was completely taken back by it. Still shook. I was trying to get my purse from the bottom of her chair which is the chair I was sitting. She even replied nicely. When I asked. Then a few minutes later she came up to me and started yelling that I was rude. She was the one being rude. The workers were trying to appease. We just left. To not cause a longer commotion. Since I was already finished we left and went elsewhere. I give this place a 3 star because they didn't listen. I wanted a MANICURE, I asked for a regular manicure and I got a NAIL POLISH CHANGE. In NYC you get a manicure for $17 with shellac. So I was not understanding why they didn't touch my cuticles. This place is expensive too! read more

Went in today for a gel polish change and a fresh gel manicure. During removal I noticed the nail tech didn't soak my nails in acetone for very long. She was really rough when filing my nails and instead of waiting for the gel to soak off fully she filed it off and even used a regular coarse nail file on my bare nail bed to try to get some spots of gel off. My cuticles are all inflamed and red and cut up and there's even an open cut on one of my fingers. When she went to apply new gel polish it went on very lumpy and uneven and started to lift around the edges immediately because the old gel wasn't removed properly. I was upset with how this looked so a different nail tech removed the polish. My nails underneath are so terribly damaged now and my middle finger looks bruised because so much of my nail plate has been filed away. My fingers literally burn from all of the filing at my skin and I'm concerned that my cuticles are at risk of infection now since they are open wounds. I asked for a refund because I was walking away with damaged nails AND no gel polish. I was told I could only be given back $10 for the cost of the gel but not for the manicure or gel removal. I asked for money back for the gel removal because it damaged my nails and I was left with open cuts and I was only given another $5 back. So I only got $15 out of the $35 I spent back and I lost the $5 tip I had given initially. I'm so upset with the entire situation and I wish I could just get all of what I spent back since now I'm going to have to go buy stuff to try to fix what is left of my natural nails. I feel like I wasted money and 2 hours of my time. I have been going to this salon for a while for pedicures but I'm honestly never going back after this. I shouldn't be walking out of a nail salon losing $25 with destroyed nails. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wasnt for sure what to expect based on reviews. My first visit was for a pedicure. I was greeted right away and also seated right away which almost never happens at nail salons for me even with my appointments. They even told someone who was already sitting that she would have to wait longer because I have an appointment and she didnt. I kinda love that. I made my appointment for Kathy based on what I saw on Yelp. Kathy is who I got too. Not like other places that will try to just give you whoever is free. Kathy was very sweet and kind. She did a great job on my nails and even asked if I wanted a design (which I always do). The only thing I wish is that the pedicure massage was longer and included a bit more options for basic without having to upgrade to a deluxe. I've been to several salons that do more for a spa pedicure. Other than that I have no complaints. I even went back a few days later and had Kathy do my nails. I think I finally found a winner. I'll try a deluxe pedicure next time to be sure. read more

Went into this place today 4/30/24 for the first time for one broken nail be a my nail lady is out of town. The female in the 3 rd chair on the left was the tech I asked her if she could get as close as possible to the shape I had. She attempted to put a clear nail tip on I told her that my nails were regular tips the man in the middle of her and the owner spoke out and told me that it was all the same. Of course they started talking in that language back and forth so I turned my translator on the phone and the man in the middle told the lady that I could have went to where I got my nails done instead of there. I told her and him " I could have, but I didn't" of course he was shocked that I understood his language. I don't go into those nail shops where those Vietnam's just sit there speaking in their language the entire time in front of English speakers. She did a horrible job on my nail.
