This was my first visit to Ivy Nails and Spa. The gentleman who did my pedicure was very nice and professional in his demeanor. There was a slight communication barrier, but he was kind throughout the service. Unfortunately, the workmanship was not what I expected, especially for a pedicure priced upward of $60. I left with polish residue on the front and sides of multiple toes, and several nails were filed unevenly/crooked. While I appreciated his kindness, the final result felt rushed and lacked the clean, detailed finish I would expect at that price point. I will never come to this nail salon again. Now that John left this place has gone down the drain. I took my daughter to get her 1st acrylic nails done and it was my 1st set in ten years. Gary the owner took my daughter, while Gary's wife took me. My daughter picked very basic nails (almond shape French tips) and I picked square shaped French tips with one finger on each hand to have a nail design (middle finger nails to have flowers). As Gary was working on my daughters nails he asked me if I liked the length, then a while later asked if I liked the shape and finally as he neared the end, he asked me if I liked the shininess of what looked to me like just a clear coat. I said yes to everything not thinking anything of it, but when I went to pay I get hit with, "Ok the Chrome (whatever the heck it is) is $20 extra for your daughters hands and feet. Ummmmmmm! Had I been made aware of the price of what I thought was just a clear coat, I would have declined. I paid because it was a very special day for my daughter and I didn't want to have anything negative ruin this memory for her. As for my experience, Gary's wife did a beautiful job, but the flowers I wanted were just done with nail polish and she along with her husband Gary insisted that it should be done 3D. Ok... I went along, but whatever she did it left with areas on the design that catches on everything, which unfortunately was a very, very expensive sweater. To say I'm disappointed if an understatement! I called Gary to see if he'd at least do the right thing and refund me the $40, but he declined. I even offered to bring my daughter to have them remove the Chrome. I also wanted to get them to remove the nail designs. Please question everything if you do decide to go to this nail salon and if you get a nail design be weary of its ability to damage your delicate/expensive clothing etc. Side note: I literally need to apply band-aids over the nail designs in-order to protect my clothing, blankets etc. In response to Ivy Nail: The last time I came in was on the 21st of June, this last Saturday. When I left the good review it was 3 years ago and it was regarding my experience with John, not Gary. I never called! I was a walk-in. I didn't realize John didn't work there anymore until I was seated. I actually thought Gary was John. I think you have me confused with someone else. I haven't gone on a vacation and I only requested the $40 to be refunded for the Chrome that I didn't know anything about. Gary applied Chrome on my 11 year old daughter's nails. I never heard of Chrome. Gary never stated that it was an extra charge for that. I was never aggressive! I have the phone call recorded which I advised Gary I was recording. Also, I have the Zelle charge showing that I was just there on the 21st of June. My complaint was that you are dishonest! The nails turned out beautiful, but you are not to be trusted and that's what I am warning every potential customer about. John wasn't a thief! read more

My nails were really pretty and I liked the lady that originally did them! I had gotten acrylic with different colors on each nail and flowers. She was patient and really took her time shaping my nails and making sure to paint it really nicely! However when I came back to get the nails taken off, it was taken off by another lady who clearly didn't want to do it. She overfiled my nails and it's been almost 2 months and my nails are still healing. There are deep grooves on my nails and for a while they were hurting. I would not recommend going here to get your acrylic nails taken off. read more

I used to use Lena as a tech but after multiple abrasions and cuts around every single cuticle after each visit, I just couldn't take the pain anymore. Her technique really had lasting power (1 month+ and my nails still looked great!) but I couldn't nurse my swollen cut cuticles any longer. It's a real bummer too as I wanted to love this place. I did mentioned the cut cuticles on both my hands and feet and she managed to tell me that was very normal (which I've had my nails done for years and cut, swollen, pussy cuticles have never happened before) so I told her thanks but no thanks. read more

I am SUPER picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I'm happy I stumbled upon this place when looking through Yelp. I have been getting dip on my nails for the past year and I'm so happy they did not disappoint. I was a little nervous based off the reviews but I told Gary exactly what I wanted and he followed through. I read some reviews about them trying to put acrylics on them but I didn't have that experience. It was the dip polish thing and the powder on top. My natural nails are very long. This was my second time to Ivy Nails. Since COVID, I took the time to learn how to do my own nails but every now and then I treat myself to having them done and it was my birthday so I came in on Sunday 12/03. In the time I've learned to do my own nails, I like to take little notes when I can watch nail techs do my nails; however, people in this profession don't tend to be forthcoming with tips or knowledge which I grew used to overtime - UNTIL I met Gary! He was SO kind and sweet with explaining his strategies and genuinely took the time to give me tips and tricks for any questions I had! He was above all the biggest breath of fresh air by going above and beyond and it went such a long way for me as a customer! Since moving to Temecula from San Diego, I haven't become a regular with anyone yet; but after my first experience with Gary, I believe he gained me as one of them :D. I am very picky about my nail shape [so much, that even I am still learning how to get them shaped right on myself haha!] so I really appreciate his attention to detail, the time he takes to ensure they are the perfect shape, and his friendly energy. I was REALLY disappointed with this visit especially since I was skeptical based off of previous reviews and pictures. However, I was in the area from out of town and they were the only ones I could find open on a Sunday in that area (hours are definitely a plus). Let me start off by saying I've waited almost two weeks to write this review because while the lady who did my nails did a horrible job (technique and end result), she was really nice and honestly I could tell she was trying her best. I place the blame on the woman who appeared to be running the shop (and who sat in the station next to mine doing another client). I made an appointment several days before coming into the shop, the client she took was a walk in, to me this matters...I walked in and i was one of a few in the shop, the woman whom I assume was in charge greeted me and I informed her I had an appt...I noted a slight hint of hesitation and then she assigned me to the kind woman who did my nails. As a manager, we know (or should know) our staffs' strengths, weaknesses, and areas needing work...I have no doubt that she was well aware of the lack of skill of the woman she assigned me to (this was confirmed by the fact she kept talking to her and looking over at our station and sitting next to her as of guiding her). I completely understand the need for experience in order to increase skill, but your paying customers should not be your Guinea pigs. More than that, at the time I walked in, the client whom the manager/more experienced tech took as a walk in had not yet entered. If you're not busy, you should not get someone NOT skilled to do a basic set of nails to a paying customer. Highly disappointed. I don't remember the woman's name who did my nails but I would bet that if the staff are reading this they know who she is. Stop allowing her to embarrass your shop until she has improved her skills. This isn't fair to her or your clients. Even my 10 yo son who loves nothing more than to pay me compliments told me my nails were ugly and crooked! I forgot to add that while she did a fill for me, LESS than a week later my middle finger nail on my right hand came off after having just had a fill. read more

I gave this salon a chance for the first time since I recently moved to Temecula and needed a new salon, but I will not be returning. I made an appointment over the phone for 12:00 and asked for dip powder. I said I had gel polish on that needed to be removed and he said he would just charge for the dip powder and not the removal, totaling $40. I arrived at 12:00 and as soon as I got there, a woman asked what I had on my nails. I said it was gel on top of a regular hard tip, it was not gel x or builder gel or anything. I know this is not very normal to have done but it was done by my boyfriend's mom, not at a salon, and she put the hard tip on to protect my nail. She said no, you have acrylic or something. I said no, it's just regular gel on top of tips. The man who I spoke to on the phone said I will have to pay the $10 removal fee since it's gel extensions and not just gel. Fine, whatever, I don't mind paying $50, I just didn't like that they told me $40 on the phone and were arguing with me about what was on my nails when I literally watched them get done by my boyfriend's mom and I knew exactly what was on them. 45 minutes go by past my appointment time and he finally finishes the girl's nails he was doing when I arrived. Because of this delay, the man tells me he'll give me a $10 discount, so I'm thinking it will be $40 like originally promised. When my nails are finally started, the color is a neon pink when I chose a baby pink color. I ask if it will get lighter when he's done and he says no, but he can put a gel polish on top to make it lighter. This is not ideal for me because the main reason I get dip powder with no gel on top is because gel always chips, but it's better than the ugly neon pink nails so I agree. At the end, my nails do look decent and a lot closer to the color I chose, but I felt like he was rushing and his nails dug into my skin which was painful. He ended up charging me $50, so I don't know where the extra $10 came from since he said he would be giving me a $10 discount. At this point I was too tired to argue over $10 and just wanted to leave, but if you're telling someone you'll give them a $10 discount for waiting 45 minutes you should stick to your word. I still tipped my usual 20% on top of that since it's the holidays and I work in the service industry as well, but honestly I regret that now. When I went home I had to even out the shape of a couple nails with a file myself and sure enough, one day later the gel color on top has already chipped. Just not a good experience all around, I don't recommend this salon. :( read more

My fifteen year old just went in to get a gel manicure because due to stunt she can't have acrylic. I'm not sure if it was because it was two teenage girls that they rushed and didn't care but this is unacceptable!
