The sloping wall seen in these picture is the result of the contractor not compacting the backfill before installing the steps. I incorrectly assumed that a company involved with this type of work would have known to do this step. I guess they saved $100 on a compactor equipment rental on a $15k job. The fact that they didn't appear to own any of the equipment they used should have been a sign that they don't normally do this type of work. Anyway if you want the job done right, probably best to go with a competitor, oftentimes low bid is not the best value.

The exterminator strongly advised that I dig out that overgrowth. The job was overwhelmingly huge so I called for estimates from local Kitsap Co. landscaping companies. Three companies responded - one didn't show up, another quoted the job so high that he didn't bother to send me a written estimate, and then came Jose. He was kind, upbeat, and thorough in his assessment of my expectations and offered a fair estimate for the job. He explained he had a pretty full schedule, but would do his best to provide service as quickly as possible. Sure enough, he put together a crew and found a way to get the job done within days. They did a remarkable job and went over and beyond what I had laid out as the scope of the project. Today, June 6, Jose's Landscaping came to the rescue once again. I didn't expect them to get to the job until at least mid-week, but Jose called on Monday morning and said he could take on my nightmare of a jungle by early afternoon. The same crew arrived and dug in (pun intended), providing the same excellent, over-the-top results in 88 degree weather! I am so impressed with this company and their fine crew that I would give them at least 7 out of 5 stars. They are polite, professional, efficient and beyond fair. If you have been missing the work ethics of days gone by, you will be delighted with this wonderful company.

This review is especially for Mathew, whose attention to detail and quality bar when it comes to maintaining the yard is second to none. They've always shown up as promised and we would recommend them to anyone looking for yard maintenance.

I know it's the nature of using a blower that makes it more difficult to make a pile and pick it up, but they must have a broom and dustpan. What makes it worse is I'm sure they're doing this everywhere they work, and aggravating all those neighbors.

They didn't tell me they were coming, which would have been ok, except they dumped the chips at the wrong house. My neighbors next door were not happy, and the guys were just going to leave the pile there anyway. I talked to the manager, Tom, and he said he would come and move it. While we were waiting for him to come, I paid a friend's landscape crew to move about two thirds of the HUGE pile. A week later, the rest of it was still there. I called back and Tom said he was going to come and move it the next day. In the course of the conversation, he was very condescending, blamed me for my directions being confusing, and made excuses I gave them the correct address, so if they were confused, they should have called. But they didn't. But he said he would move the pile to where it was supposed to be dumped, so at least he was going to fix it. But guess, what? He didn't show. The pile is still there in my neighbor's yard. I guess I'm going to have to pay someone more $ to come and move the rest of it and send Turning Leaf the bill. I just wish they would have done the right thing and taken responsibility for their mistake.

Yep, we still hadn't taken care of the trees with broken limbs on our property, nor had we trimmed back the trees that were in severe need of it. With the wind storm that hit us a few days ago, we decided it had become necessary, especially given the fact that the huge hemlock in front of our house had numerous broken limbs just hanging in the tree and some of the lower limbs were almost touching the ground. I had called another tree service we had used before and asked them to come out to review the property and they never even returned the call. A property manager friend of mine recommeded Tom with Turning Leaf and I have to say that I was impressed from the word go. He came out and told me which trees were a possible problem and even said that a couple of the trees I thought were a problem didn't need to be taken down. He looked at everything that needed to be done and gave me a reasonable quote. We scheduled a date for the work to be done and his guys, (three of the nicest, most polite guys you could ever wish for) came out on time and worked incredibly hard all day. They did everything we needed them to do and were professional and friendly the whole time while also being very safety conscious. They even cleaned up our walkway (which we hadn't done in months) and swept the driveway! The service was spectacular. I highly recommend Turning Leaf. In a time where customer service is secondary to everything else, Tom and his crew both suprised and delighted us with their fantastic attitudes. I will be recommending them to my friends and neighbors and calling them out again.
