I highly recommend Unique Eyewear for children's glasses. We come here for my young daughter's strong and challenging prescription. They do a fantastic job with both frames and lenses, and they are always friendly and professional. The location is also great - we pair our visit with one of the many nearby eateries, and it's a fun outing. read more

I have been wearing glasses for 50 years and I have had so many eye glasses I've lost count. Including prescription sunglasses, I am sure I have had over 100 pairs. I have been going to Unique Eyewear for about 7 years now and they have always taken outstanding care of me. Eva is the best. One time when I needed eye surgery and subsequently a new pair of glasses, she made new lenses for me at no cost. I have also found that Unique Eyewear has some of the best looking eye glass frames around. Very nice designer frames. Whoever their buyer is has great taste. Because of their great service and excellent product, I think they are also a bargain. Their prices are comparable to other shops, but their service cannot be beat. read more

Not that welcoming. Kind of a cold reception. I did end up ordering my son's glasses from here but won't be back. Also, they called me to come pick up and when I got there, the order wasn't in. Not sure what happened there. read more

I love this place. I've been going here for about 15 years. They have the best and most unique inventory in the Bay Area. Their turn around for ordering frames and putting in the lenses is quicker than other places I've delt with. I mainly come here for the inventory though. I have two pairs of caviar frames from here and I have yet to see someone else wearing the same frames as me. And the first pair I bought I've had for 15 years and they still look fabulous. The second pair is newer. I saw them online when google-ing caviar cat eye frames and unique eye ware ordered them for me since they didn't have those particular frames in stock and they came super quick. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary this is a good place to look. They usually give a discount on services if they aren't within your providers network. read more

I had a business luncheon in the Pruneyard. At the conclusion I had time to 'look around' when the display at the window of the Unique Eyewear caught my eyes. I went in to look around and see what's "in" in Eyewear. The optician, Eva, was very courteous and professional. While I was not intended to purchase anything at first, Eva found the right Michael Kors glasses that was perfect for my face and right for my pocket. I hope to have another business luncheon at the Pruneyard so I will go back and get myself another pair of shades at theis shop. David P. Sunnyvale read more

I could not be more thrilled with the selection and the service! I visited 9 places this past week and found the same old boring options. I landed at Unique Eyewear (because of its name and great ratings). It SERIOUSLY lives up to its name! The attention and ability to hone in with what I sought ("fun and classy") and discern the right size and shape frame (because they KNOW what they have in stock), whittled down the amount of time I usually require to find just the right pair. I received HONEST opinions about every pair (which I solicited). The experience they have in this business far outweighs the competition. You will NOT find its high level of selection nearby. AND, they craft the lenses in-store which translates to lower prices and faster turnaround time! This is the sort of mom-pop (without the pop) place that is rare to find. Unique Eyewear is my new favorite!!! read more

I had a pair of vintage sunglasses that finally broke off at the right arm. As luck would have it, I keep pieces of old, broken sunglasses of the same type and one had the right arm intact. I first took them to a watch repair person, who could not help me. I then took them to Unique Eyewear. They also did not have the right tool to remove and put back on the arm that was needed. Instead of saying, "Sorry, can't help you", the person helping me took it upon herself to call another place she thought could do the job. They were fairly close by. Not only did she confirm they could do the work, she set up an appointment to go see them right away. I went to the place she referred me, and they completed the job quickly, at very reasonable price. Thank you, Unique Eyewear, for the great customer service! read more

This is the best optometry I have ever worked with Extremely professional, they go above and beyond to serve customers and are very amicable. In my case I went back with a broken frame a couple times and without any question they gave me a replacement frame honoring the warranty read more

Great friendly service saved me in a pinch! I gladly go back for anything I needed related to eyewear

Excellent attention to detail. They really want you to have a comfortable, good looking pair of glasses that are properly configured for your eyes. I spent thirty minutes browsing twenty frames that I selected, but I ended up best liking the first pair Eva chose for me. These guys really know their stuff. Then I got a nice consultation on how my prescription could be applied to the lenses to optimize this pair of glasses for a particular use I had in mind. I had no idea how many options there were, but Eva made it easy for me to choose what was going to work best. read more

Love this place and have bought 4 pairs of glasses. Always great service and smiles from Susie and everyone there. They will fix your glasses if they can and return and get your lenses fixed if you have problems. Check them out if you haven't been there! read more

I have been getting my glasses at Unique Eyewear for several years and have only had good experiences. Unique Eyewear staff are extremely competent. They take extra time to make sure that the glasses are correct. They stand behind their product 100% of the time. They have a lot of frame styles and are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend them as place to buy glasses. read more

These ladies have it together! Not only do they have a wonderful selection, but the service is outstanding!! Eva is the owner and so knowledgable and takes care of everything. Susie is also knowledgable and helpful. You cannot go wrong here... I won't shop anywhere else. read more

Thank you to Unique Eyewear!! Yesturday I dropped my glasses and there was a huge scratch on my right lense so I brought it in. Anyone who can't see well without glasses understands this stress. It turns out I have a two year warranty on my lenses. They are replacing both of my lenses for only $12.00. I was so relieved. They also mentioned my warranty covers any damage to the lenses even if the dog chews it. Lol... read more

Selection for kids - Have nothing to compare it to, but the selection is good. Customer Service - nothing extraordinary, the lady just did her job and seemed to be in a hurry to pack us off. knowledgable - not really sure. asked her some questions and did not get stellar answers. read more

Love this place!! The customer service is excellent! They helped me find the perfect pair of glasses and sunglasses to fit my face and my style. They adjusted them to fit very comfortably. I will be coming here for all my future glass and sunglass purchases! read more

I have a large wide head/face (57mm is recommended lens width for me) so shopping for eyeglasses that fit my face and look good has been a life long ordeal. I came to this store based on reviews and their website which lists the brands they offer. Im glad i made the drive from Hayward because the selection and service were excellent! The proprietor of the shop gave me several suggestions that all looked good and most importantly fit. This was a first for me. She told me she makes a point to order several different sizes to accommodate people of different head sizes and shapes. I would highly recommend to anyone with larger head size. read more

I am so happy this store exists. My 7 month old baby needs glasses and I was having a hard time dealing with that but an even worse time finding someone that knows how to fit infants. We paid out of pocket for frames because Kaiser covered frames and lenses but only offered one style of frames they didn't know how to fit. I left Kaiser very frustrated, stopped by another retailer that was not experienced with babies, and started crying when I walked in and realized they had so many frames her size to pick from and someone competent to help me. Thank you! read more

I have been going to Unique Eyewear for years. Their service has always been top notch and they do quality work. With my new frames, Eva wanted me to try a new type of lens that they had just started carrying. I went ahead and after wearing them for weeks, I just did not like the new lens. Without me asking, she offered to remake the lenses with the lenses I used to have. The provide service with a caiptal "T". These type of businesses are becomeing rare, and I hope they contiune to succeed! read more

After going to another mess of an eyeglass shop in Valco that seemed like an eyeglass piñata had burst all over the store w a clueless sales person added in for good measure, it was a relief to go to unique eyewear with it's clean presentation, and a very knowledgable and friendly staff. read more

The selection at Unique Eyewear is FANTASTIC, and the staffers are helpful when assisting you with finding the right frames/ordering those of interest. My only issue was that they were slightly unorganized - after discussing options with one staffer, it didn't seem like it was the easiest to understand the notes or find my items when another staffer was on duty. There were minor inconveniences along the way (ie when installing my lenses there was a hole, so I had to wait a couple more days before the pickup), but on the whole I'm very satisfied with the look and quality of my glasses! read more

The best experience I have ever had at an optical store. They are very patient and helpful. They had a wonderful collection of frames and I wanted quality first and I got it from Unique Eyewear. Audrey was extremely helpful and I left feeling happy with my purchase. 5 stars. read more

Unique Eyewear is basically the only place in San Jose I shop for glasses. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, they REALLY know their business, and they go above and beyond any requirements of their job to help customers out. Dana, especially, was a HUGE help on my last visit. She saved me a lot of time and expense, and made the visit extremely interesting, as well. Don't pass this place up. read more

My husband and I just found out that our 2 year old daughter needs glasses from an optometrist in Santa Cruz. Neither one of us have ever had eye problems and have no idea how to deal with vision problems, what the lingo is, what the numbers or mean or anything. The optometrist in SC just seemed interested in getting us to buy some glasses rather than helping explain all of the things that we were stepping into. With such a limited supply of children's eyewear in SC, we tried this pace and Susie was amazing. She answered every question we had with kindness and understanding. This place obviously has it together based on all the 5 star reviews but another can't hurt! I am so thankful for someone who seemed to understand what we were going through. read more

I recently had to purchase some computer glasses which also are progressives and have reading glasses at the bottom. I was really concerned these things were going to make me sick, because the last time I tried it at another optometrist, I couldn't wear the glasses and never went back. Well the folks at Unique explained to me why they didn't work and spent a lot of time getting the new glasses properly set on my face and with my eyes. Voila! The glasses are FABULOUS. I can see again! Thanks to Unique Eyewear. Also - great selection of frames - although I'd like to see more retro stuff as well! read more

We went here based on the good reviews to get my three year old daughter eye glasses. Eva , the owner was super friendly and very patient and knowledgable about kids lens and frames. She was able to help us pick out a great frame that would be appropriate for a toddler. The glasses were ready the next day! I really like their shop and the customer service Eva gave read more

We take our daughter here for her glasses. She has been in glasses from 13 months and they have a wonderful selection of children's glasses, including the hard to find Miraflex. My daughter is now 2 and we just went for another pair of glasses. The ladies there were so patient while my daughter tried on different pairs and they are very nice to work with. We will 100% be back, thank you so much. read more

Susie just made my weekend! I was supposed to reading poetry on open-mic at the Pruneyard Barnes & Noble but I had lost a screw from my glasses so I was forced to wearing my "spare pair". Uugh... As soon as I approached the other readers, one of them looked at me and asked if my hair was different. I immediately ran out of the bookstore and straight to Unique Eyewear! It was probably 7:40pm or so and they close at 8pm so I figured me, my glasses, and their missing screw was probably the last thing Susie hoped to see. But she was fantastic and diligent; trying screw after screw until (yippee!) she found one that fit! And above even that, there was no charge for the excellent service! I will definitely be back soon to purchase new frames from the HUGE selection. Thanks! read more

I came here to buy sunglasses. There was one customer in the store and one employee. She was not willing to help me or even let me try on a pair of sunglasses - because she was helping the other customer. She said I could wait until the other employee returned from lunch but after waiting for 15 minutes there was still no one willing to help me so I left. Pretty ridiculous that she was not willing help two customers at the same time. read more

Impressive (huge actually) selection of glasses new and old styles and everything in between. I went to lensecrafters first hoping to find something, well, unique and was disappointed. Then a friend told me about this place and there were so many beautiful frames to choose from! The owner Eva and the other staff were super friendly and helpful and really gave me their honest opinions on what looked good on me. I ended up getting some cool European frames and have gotten so many compliments I think I'm going to go back and pick out another pair. read more

Lady who works here is nice, very awesome range of unique glasses, not cheap but not more expensive than any other place you would get high quality glasses at. Ordered mine Wens, got them Friday. That was pretty awesome. They even waited for me to come by even though they were close to closing, which was nice. read more

I cannot be happier with the services provided by Susie and Eva. My six-year-old daughter lost her glasses at school, so I called in to order an exact same pair. They told me it might take 2-3 days. Impressively, it was ready the same day! They rushed the order and called me right away. Then, as it turned out, my daughter's classmate found and returned her old pair. Eva generously offered to cancel the order when she heard about this. This level of customer services will keep me coming back for years to come. They have a cute store front. Young children will love to play with the toys and get comfortable at the store if it is their first visit. The prices are reasonable, especially compared to other children's eyewear stores that charges $50 just for a nose bridge. They carry a great selection of children's glasses. I had tried a few bay area stores, and I am glad to finally find this gem. read more

I have been getting my glasses at Cohen's for quite some time. They are very nice and you can get a good exam for $50. But, the glasses aren't cheap. My last pair cost around $800. So I read the reviews of Unique Eyewear and was a little bit skeptical, they looked too good to be true. But when I went there, wow! Great, personal service. Great selection of frames. And when I asked how much, I literally braced myself for the worst until she said, $160! She saw the nose pads in my old glasses were broken and said, "you're not leaving until we fix those!" And they did, no charge. I got my glasses the next day and since then have received so many compliments. Unique Eyewear, you have a customer for life! read more

Our family has been shopping at this store which for us has become an institution for some fifteen years because it has always kept up with the latest optical technology, service quality, and upscale styles. Last week my sister, who was visiting from New York, bought a pair of glasses and stated that this is one of the coolest optical stores she has been to - even in New York standards. We must have spent two hours selecting frames and staff was patient, professional and helpful. It was a totally enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. read more

Great children's selection and unique frames, from cheap to expensive, knowledgeable staff. A little bristly at first, but great service! Will definitely buy more glasses here. And I love the toy area! Great follow through. They even mailed our glasses to us! read more

I've been looking for new glasses off and on for several years. I don't know why I didn't got to Unique sooner! Eva picked out 8-10 frames that looked good on my small pointed face. Within 20 minutes we had it narrowed down to two really nice frames. One was an expensive designer frame and the other much less expensive. I ended up getting both! I am very pleased and will be returning for more glasses. No more searching because I know Unique Eyewear will have frames to fit my face and I won't have to spend hours looked at the wrong shapes. read more

Horrible experiences with this place, please don't waste your time and money. We had nothing but problems with this place and they refuse to resolve the issues and are nothing but rude to us and our insurance now. The employee we first dealt with recommended us multiple pairs of glasses for our daughter that were to big for her, being our first time getting her glasses we didn't know about sizing so we ordered the pair she liked. we went in to pick them up and asked about adjusting them and the one lady said you can't adjust these. then we went in to have a lens checked and a different lady adjusted them without asking me if it was ok to adjust my daughters and said the other lady didn't know about adjusting these glasses and didn't want to tell her last time we were there (well hello you should say something so we don't leave with glasses not properly fitting, sorry if there is some issue between to two of you but for your customers you need to figure it out). then after she adjusted them without permission the glasses started sliding down non stop all day long. the owner then met with us when we went back in because of the previous issues and said its because the glasses are too big for her. (so why did her employee show them to us.) i showed her a picture of another pair we liked, she said their too big as well. so the owner recommended we reorder a smaller size they didnt have anything similar so we just got a pink pair out of a catalog. they came in and we were still not happy, they look horrible. now we have a pair of glasses we spent almost $400 on just sitting in a case and i'm extremely upset that we don't have a nice pair of glasses for my daughter. the employees obviously don't know what they are doing. I wish the issues were resolved for my daughters sake, instead of them turning rude and not willing to do anything. We went somewhere else and got new glasses for our daughter, she was so much more excited about her glasses and they look a lot better on her then the ones from here! read more
