Ken was quick to acknowledge my request, and he let me in. There's a $25 diagnostic fee deposit, which goes toward the repair. Which, in my case, means soldering the cable back to the pin connector. Paid with a CC, and he asked for my contact and told me he would call me when it's ready. The next day, he called to tell me it's ready. And violaaaa, my record player works again! Our TV is a 65-inch Sony Bravia (model XBR-65X850F) that we bought in 2018, and it has already been with us for eight years. When it broke down, we hesitated over whether to buy a new one or have it repaired. After a quick search on Yelp, we found Mr. Gao's information. He replied immediately after we messaged him and came to our house the very same day to inspect it.His initial diagnosis was a faulty mainboard. To be completely sure, he took both the mainboard and the power board back with him for a more detailed diagnosis. To make a long story short, two weeks later, he returned with a newly purchased replacement board, installed it back into my TV, and successfully fixed it! Since the boards for the 850F model are discontinued and no longer available on the market, he had to buy an 850G board as a substitute and modify it slightly to make it compatible with my TV. I am not professional enough to understand the exact technical details, but I am certain it took considerable time and specialized knowledge to pull off! I found the repair cost to be very fair--around 40% of what I originally paid for the TV. Some people might not find it worth it, but I am so glad I can keep using this TV instead of scrapping a perfectly working LED screen and creating a massive piece of electronic waste.

To ensure that we knew what to expect. He called us several hours later that same day to let us know that he found a fault that he repaired and updated the firmware on the logic board. I decided on Tap Electronics and was communicating with Sal. He asked for the serial number and part description which I provided. He said I would need to bring the board into the shop. I felt I didn't need to do that as it was just a plastic part of the case that screws onto it. I expressed my annoyance and Sal stopped communicating with me. I contacted ANOTHER service center and they are fantastic! They sent me an exploded diagram of the board to confirm the part I need. I texted them back right away confirming. They are reaching out to Roland in Japan to find part availability and pricing. I don't know what the hell is wrong with Sal.

I thought I left it at home and was about to drive home on my lunch break to get it then realized I could just buy another one. Looked up local cell phone stores in the area and IQ appeared. They're located in the small shopping center across from Cypress College on the west side of Valley View, north of Public Storage. I called before I got there and asked if they had a magnetic charger and the owner said yes for $20. Showed up and the store is small and clean. There was one guy ahead of me and the owner acknowledged me and said he'd be with me in a few moments. I was fine. The magnetic charger I have is a lightning charger that connects to a USB-C cord, while the one the shop had was an apple approved cord that was connected directly to the magnetic charger. I connected it to a Sharge power bank and it worked, but slowly charged. My phone is older so it does heat up and I did ask how much it costs to replace my battery and he said $70, which Is $10 cheaper than the Apple store. Overall, great experience and if I'm in town and have time I'll get my battery replaced.
