Well well well, after being a loyal customer (Uniqlo member who fancies scanning the membership barcode during checkout ;)) finally writing a review that was long due. This has been our first Japanese store interaction and in some way we find there's a fine thread of its culture weaved into this brand's fabric. The clothes seem to come up with a certain honesty with the way they are well made. This particular store is smaller compared to its cousin at the American Dream mall but has quite a collection for its size. The highlight of this brand/store is the unique self checkout technology they possess at the registers where you just need to throw the dresses in a bin and it checks you out without needing to scan the barcode manually. @ Menlo Park mall, Edison NJ The store is small compared to the NYC stores, thus, they have limited items. Since the fitting room had only 4-5 rooms, the line was long to try on the clothing. Also, the payment line was long but you may put all the items in the bin which automatically scans all your items. Also, UNIQLO App can be used to order without standing in line. read more

Located inside Menlo park mall, this Uniqlo seems little bit smaller in space, feels all the things are crammed in. There's not much open space inside the store. But they do managed to have almost all latest and popular items on display, or tucked in the shelves. Fitting room line was not too long. Associates are helpful. Staff, especially the manager was very rude to me and my special needs child. They sold us a defective coat (in the rush before Christmas I didn't notice the zipper was broken) and when I went to exchange it they claimed my daughter broke it. I know she could not have, she needs help putting on the zipper!. I called the corporate company and they did absolutely nothing. BEWARE they don't take any exchanges or returns even though they say they will. read more

Loved the self checkout where you can place your items at the checkout area and it automatically detects all the items placed there (no manual scanning needed). Also got a bunch of coupons when I signed up on the app and saved some money. Cool stuff, helpful staff and a decent collection. read more

This shop is conveniently located inside menlo mall, right opposite to apple store . Initially I thought it was a fancy shop, but then realized that they have some really good stuff . My wife loves shopping here . It is a little more pricey than other stores , but the quality of t shirts / shorts etc are really good . They have lots of options for kids / mens / women. Even though it was a Sunday, I was still surprised by how busy UNIQLO and Menlo was. Felt like Menlo on any weekend pre-covid. Just with face masks everywhere and queues. UNIQLO's doing pretty good handling covid. They have a one-way entrance with a huge standing sign serving as instructions and guidance for covid in-store. The one-way exit is straight from the cashiers. Capacity is limited so there's always a possibility of lining up and waiting to enter with the entrance worker controlling inflow by monitoring exiting customers. When that is the case, every person is given a squeeze of hand sanitizer. Otherwise, self-sanitize with the sanitizer left at the entrance. Workers are young, nice, and courteous! All wear masks and gloves. In-store-wise it's a bit harder to control. Patrons come and go as they please like normal but considering how small the store is, it's hard to maintain 6 foot distancing except when checking out where there are floor stickers for lining up (spacing of stickers seem less than 6 feet though). Fitting rooms are currently out of service. While this location mainly stocks the essential basics with less to offer than the larger outposts, it's always a good idea to browse the back racks and hidden sale sections as I've occasionally found pieces from collabs, collections, and sale items that sell out online. I've seen some of Christophe Lemaire's U, Hana Tajima, JW Anderson, and Ines de la Fressange. This visit, they had the subtle camo printed pocketable UV parka jackets in basically all sizes and both colors despite being nearly sold out online. Sale items sell out pretty fast in smaller sizes online so I was lucky in scoring the last XS jacket. TIP: Download the app and make an account as there are many app-only sales in-store and app freebies or promotions. This time it was a free pack of 3 airism face masks with no purchase necessary. That's a $15 value right there! Note that this freebie doesn't apply to those who register now. ALERT: UNIQLO is currently phasing out plastic packaging. As such there is currently a sale on their men and women full heattech range in that packaging in the back. Mens nearly sold out of their ultra warm but plenty of regular and extra warm tops. Women side had more options but also limited in the ultra warm department. Smaller sizes are selling fast. Hurry and good luck! 10/24/20: Ladies, the pocketable UV camo printed jacket has been restocked online and is still on sale at $14.90! Worst customer service, never come back to this store again. They forgot to bag the item I bought, when I came to get it they claimed I got it , lying to my face that it's supposed to be in the bag and their " lost prevention manager" was checking the camera. Popular for their HEATTECH collection, this is my go to clothing store for many of my essentials, like loungewear, basic sweaters, sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. You really can't find better workmanship for items at these prices. With winter coming up, stock up on their HEATTECH undergarments for added warmth. Today I happened to get my hands on a long winter coat that was the last one in my size in the color that I wanted. I was looking for an outerwear that can be worn with something dressier. One happy gal here! Throughout the years, I have purchased a number of coats and they have lasted wash after wash. It's lightweight but keeps you nice and toasty. The staff are always super friendly, from the ones on the floor to the dressing room to the cashiers. Note: I've also had a couple of pants hemmed here and they do a beautiful job. It's cheaper than bringing it to your tailor. Items ordered online can also be returned at the store. read more

Somehow, one of my favorite retailers being located in the customer-service-deficient dump that is Menlo Park Mall makes me depressed, but I'm still happy that it's there because of the new ship-to-store feature for online purchases. That being said, the In-Store Pickup is an not entirely seamless service--at least not for this location, since the feature is new and because the store associates still need to spend time manually rummaging through inventory to find a single package. The young associate who went scavenging for my order in the backroom took about 10 minutes but was affable and very apologetic about the delay. As for the actual store itself, I would have to say that this location is the smallest Uniqlo store I have ever visited that is not in a train station, in an airport, or is a pop-up store. Understandably, the selection really pales in comparison to that of the Garden State Plaza store, any of the NYC stores, or the online store--so I can only see myself visiting this location on occasion. The Simon Malls website says the closest entrance is entrance D by B&N, but I would argue that entrance C on the lower level by Nordstrom is better because of parking availability. read more

Uniqlo is a great place to go for some basics. Need some shorts? Need some t-shirts? Maybe a parka or a light coat? They generally have these things and more but beware, if you really like something, get a couple because they turn over collections *fast* from month to month. This Uniqlo is a larger than its sibling store in Jersey Gardens, and I also tend to find this one more well stocked. There have been a couple of times where I have visited to find a shirt that Jersey Gardens was out of and these guys had it, so keep that in mind if you have been hunting for specific Uniqlo items. I also have to give a shout out to the employees who are always helpful and willing to answer questions. I did notice they have given up on the whole "give you an empty bag to shop with" thing that they used to do and no one greets you at the door anymore - but frankly it's not a big deal to me. Check out is fairly quick most of the time, though once in a blue moon you'll wind up with a customer that is returning something and taking an extra long time of it. In those cases I have seen the staff call for extra help to get people checked out faster. This is one of my regular stops whenever I go to Menlo. Definitely worth checking out. read more

PSA: do not go anywhere near the mannequins unless you want to be snapped at by the rude red haired manager quickly trying on a jacket, hands full, put jacket on mannequin which was promptly snatched off by the manager who snapped "Really? I tried calling the store to determine if I left my debit card. Unfortunately they don't allow customers to call in. Coupled by the new policy that they don't provide bags for merchandise. You can only but a cheap flimsy shopping bag after spending $$$. Shame on you Uniqlo. Your customer experience sucks all around. read more

Uniqlo is where I go for affordable, high quality basics. Their heat tech series is great as long underwear. The layer is thin and doesn't add bulk. I have a turtleneck, several leggings, some socks and some underwear that have all stood the test of time. I've wanted their ultra light down jacket ever since I tried it on at the flagship store on Fifth Avenue a few years ago, and finally went to get it today. Unfortunately, they only had the waist length ULDs, and I wanted the long one. It seems they only recently stopped carrying it at this particular store and shipped their remaining stock to another store. I didn't get the details of what store because I thought it'd just buy it online. But I went home to find out that it was sold out in my size. Ergh. So now I'm officially on a wild goose chase for a long uniqlo ultra light down jacket. I should've just bought it that day I tried it on. I wanted to "use up" my existing jacket first, even though it was bulky and left my lower body cold. So I toughed it out for another couple of seasons until the zipper started wearing out. Anyway I tried on another long jacket that might be ok. This new jacket has a matte fabric and a diamond batting, in contrast to the shiny trash bag number that has been their signature for the last several years. I need to think about it... I've had that ULD slated as my next winter coat for such a long time that I'm not going to just drop the idea in a day. Their new "seamless" jacket was also pretty good. This jacket is very trim for a down jacket. However I don't technically need a short jacket so I passed (will probably go back in two years and repeat history). There's a long version online, but it was sold out. I guess if you try something on at uniqlo that you like and that fits, just get it. It may not be in stock online. They do have sales, though, so that's another thing to watch out for once you know what you want. CREWNECKS I also tried on a few heat tech crewnecks today. I found that a size 11 kid's size fits me better than any of the adult sizes. The shoulders on the "regular" t-shirts are too broad. In this case, the joke's on them because the kids sizes are a few dollars less. Though on the other hand, they only had three colors available online-- white, pink, and baby blue-- so I wasn't actually able to fill all the t-shirt gaps in my wardrobe. In general with clothing in the US, t-shirts are often sliding off my shoulders or cut too low. Another problem is that sleeves are too long --I was tempted to buy a cozy fleece lined hooded sweatshirt today, but fortunately looking at the long sleeves, I was able to convince myself to refrain from purchasing this unnecessary wardrobe item (I have tons of sweatshirts and sweaters). read more

At first glance, this store looks so much bigger than the Bridgewater store, and maybe it is. Everything looked to be in order, but I don't care for the tall fixtures on the floor. It limits visibility if you are in need of help, and I imagine it can't be good for loss prevention. We weren't greeted by anyone at any point. Luckily, this was not my first time visiting UNIQLO, so I knew how to find what I was looking for pretty quickly. I love the quality of their clothing and accessories. And it's getting pretty cold, but their Heattech line has helped to keep me warm and comfy when outside. I also love their scarves. There's much to love about this company, but this store should be more aware of the customers that enter and are browsing their store. read more

....Let's face it folks....Americans are fat and as fat people, dangling inexpensive,well made and designed,colorful,fashionable apparel in front of us and then limiting your largest size to an Asian XL...is just cruel. Now I'm of average build and could benefit from losing a few pounds but by no means obese or even fat,have broad shoulders and an actual butt but find their XL to be almost comical in it's vain attempt to cover my back and I will not even consider fitting their jeans in fear of a embarrassing bodily injury. Uniqlo's sizes tend to favor the typical Japanese male more than the majority of men strolling the average New Jersey mall. and for that they lose 2 stars. Now I remember when Uniqlo first appeared in Menlo Park mall in the 90's and closed soon after,conceivably due to lack of sales,today's visit saw the bulk of shoppers being of Asian decent so perhaps timing is everything. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. Since their jeans only come in two inseam lengths, I was forced to have them altered at the store. The result was too short and I went back to the store to return it. The cashier told me that they don't accept returns of altered clothes. Essentially they force customers to alter pants because they don't offer most sizes and then don't take returns. I left my jeans behind in disgust. They don't allow customer to try coat/ outwear in fitting room!!!! Okay... I have never imagined this will be my first Google review.. This is what happened to me around 1:40 pm,12/13/2017 , Wednesday. In my first round shopping, I brought 7 pieces (6 outwears, 1 sweater) to the fitting room and figured out they won't fit me. So I organized them well and gave them back to a guy who working in fitting room and said "thank you :)". I kept on shopping and decided to try a smaller size (XS) Ultra Light Down Parka because I really love them, but the one I brought to the fitting room earlier, which is one of those 7 pieces, is in size small (S), so i have to go back to the fitting room again. However, the fitting room guy didn't allow me to get into the fitting room.. This is what he said "If you like you can try it right here (outside the fitting room), cuz we don't allow customer to try outwear in fitting room". And I told him I just tried some in the fitting room. He said " because you came with 7 pieces, I didn't want to be an asshole and piss you off". I was totally shocked about what he was saying. If I can try it outside, I wouldn't bother him. The reason I have to try this inside the fitting room is that I was wearing a very very huge hoodie (nothing inside....). And that Ultra Light Down Parka is very skinny, I can't fit myself into that coat with such a huge hoodie, I have to take it off. I explained to that guy and he insisted. I don't really understand why he insisted on this. That was a weekday, they barely have customer using the fitting room. I don't really want to beg him to let me in, it's just so terrible. I mean, if it's the policy (a ridiculous policy), why did you let me in at the first time? If this policy is flexible, why didn't you let me in at the second time? No one was using the fitting room at that time. A ridiculous shopping experience... , which happened in one of my favorite stores. That is disappointing... :/ read more

This review is for the actual store, not the clothes cause I have yet to actually wear them. Super neat and organized (and color-coded! #makingmybrainsohappy) and an easy-to-navigate layout. The dressing room attendant guy was so polite and friendly and went out of his way to help me find my size. There was only one cashier on a fairly busy Sunday morning, but she was also very polite and apologetic. Great location! read more

I had an annoying experience shopping here. I had to purchase a jacket for a family member with a leftover store credit. First, I asked two staff members for assistance in finding a larger size. Their terse response of "we don't carry that size in-store" made me feel like UNIQLO doesn't care to make all people feel welcome. Later during my trip, I asked another staff member where I could find inexpensive non-size dependent accessories to finish off my store credit, and she didn't seem to understand the gist of what I was saying. All-in-all, it was a shopping experience that reminded me of why I dislike corporate stores and shopping malls. read more
