I'm a big Bloomingdales fan having so many memories shopping at the NYC location with my mom when I was just a kid. The Bridgewater location is spotlessly clean, bright, and since I was there during the holidays, the decorations were beautiful; simple and elegant. The inventory was less than other locations. The handbag area, while it spanned many designers, had just a small selection. Same with the jewelry counter. Even in the clothing area, nothing was speaking to me. This trip I didn't buy anything knowing I was going to the Bloomingdales on Third Avenue later in the week. I'm really glad I waited to actually shop because the NYC store was packed with enticing inventory across all departments. My friend and I spent over an hour in accessories! In any case, I enjoyed reminiscing and perusing the various departments, enjoyed checking out the stylish mannequins and elegant silver holiday decor. read more

I stood in front of the Gucci sunglass case for about ten minutes and saw one customer and no associates so I left

I placed an order online for my usual size 6 but when it came it run a bit big for me so I returned it at the store and got refunded. So i placed an order again and this time on the phone in NJ associate and a size 5 1/2. When the item arrived I couldn't believed what I saw. The store actually sent me a "FLOOR SAMPLE" item, the shoes was so "DIRTY". I just can't imagine and not expecting that BLOOMINGDALES - is a luxury retail store that supposedly specializes in selling HIGH-END goods that are characterized by HIGH QUALITY and HIGH DEGREE of exclusivity and DEVALUE their standard. Special thanks to the two women in the beauty department. I was at Clinique and the MUA was on break i believe. I was in a rush and two women from other counters came over and were determined to help me with my purchase. I told them my color and it wasn't there. we matched me to another color and that wasn't there either, finally we found a third color that matched my skin tone and they asked what else i needed. i mentioned a bunch of other items and they helped me right along. they were so sweet and due to my colors being unavailable they hooked me up with some samples. I wish i got their names, but they both had beautiful blue eyes, and were just the sweetest for not giving up on my needs. read more

I just visited this Bloomingdales to pick up an order. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life. The two women at the counter for returns on September 7 at around 4:00 PM were extremely condescending. I felt publicly humiliated. I asked them if I could pickup my curbside order from in the store. Instead of simply explaining that the product was not yet in the store, they made me feel like an idiot for even considering I could do such a thing. I assumed the product was downstairs in beauty and I could pick it up early. They were rude, unhelpful, and bitchy. I will not be returning to this location again. Worst experience. read more

I will continue to go to the M.A.C. counter in Bloomingdales since their M.A.C. employees are always so sweet and knowledgeable; however, I am hesitant to go any further into the store. I spent almost twenty minutes in the coat section, entertaining myself mostly as I tried to convince myself that I didn't need a new coat but was also trying on whichever one caught my eye. I was the perfect, I'll admit easy to persuade, customer in that moment, but none of that mattered on this particular day. I was never greeted, and wasn't sure if there was anyone even working in that department. I walked around towards the register four times and noticed the only employee in the department was on the phone with a customer, presumably. I finally just stood on the side waiting but in view so she knew I waiting for her assistance. Well, fast forward, I then realized she was on a personal call -unless she usually ends business calls by saying "ok, love ya". When I heard that, after almost twenty minutes of waiting, I didn't even want to give her that sale. I also walked through the women's shoe department and was greeted halfway through by an associate. I didn't see any shoes that I liked when glancing around, so I continued strolling until I was out of that department. Luckily M.A.C. is right next to the entrance. I'm not interested in the hit or miss customer service that can be found elsewhere in the store. read more

What a lovely shopping experience I had here the other day. It was quite sparce of customers but then again, it was a Wednesday. I was looking for some shorts I had been eying up for awhile and was pleasantly greeted by a lady who asked if I needed any help. She led me to a changing room and circled back to see how I was doing, but I needed a size larger, which she promptly retrieved for me. We walked back to where the shorts were and I asked for her opinion on either the pink or baby blue Joe's Jean's and she was super friendly. Actually, we even ended up chatting about life in general for awhile. She rang me up and got my Bloomingdale's account updated and the shorts were on sale! Bonus! I believe her name is Patty, so whoever reads these and if you're her boss, please praise her for her attentiveness and amazing customer service. These days, a majority of retail employees are miserable and indifferent. Thank you, Patty and Bloomingdales for going above and beyond. I will be back for more! read more

This review is for the cosmetics counters only. I have to say I love the way the cosmetics are set up in this branch. The middle aisle is free for walking there's no weird stand in the middle of the aisle blocking your way. It's nice how they set up the counters in that you can visibly see the brands at each counter. Again no weird stands or shelving units blocking your view unlike in Macy's. Here everything looks uniform, clean and chic. Ok now on to the best part and the bulk of the reason why I'm giving this place 5 stars. So for years now I've been holding off buying Chanel beauty products because I know it's pricey and they say once you go Chanel you never go back. Well this spring season has been brutal on my skin and I needed a new foundation to combat my combination skin. I went to the Chanel counter and met the most wonderful cosmetic consultant named Jenny. Seriously if any of you want a product in the Chanel counter here ask for her. She was very engaging, friendly, respectful and she wasn't pushy with products. She applied the foundation and matched me perfectly and applied the rest of my make-up beautifully. This woman, with 15 years of experience, got skills!!! The whole time we were also talking and I just felt like I was having a chit-chat with an old friend. Because I loved the results so much I didn't just end up buying foundation. I bought a cc cream, bronzer and some brushes as well. She also does complimentary make-up by appointment for any special occasions. I actually saw some ladies there today getting their makeup done for prom and weddings. If you want knowledgable cosmetic consultants who aren't pushy with products and are not snobby this is the place to go. read more

I have shopped this Bridgewater location for years, needless to say I now have had a negative experience...I find overall associates are not consistent with greeting customers or offering help. There was a pricing descripancy of 10 dollars on a ticket, spoke to manager and she refused to honor it. When crunched for time, where they could've totally made a sale, they were honest and forthright and actually said it wasn't necessary to buy something. I come to Bloomingdales in Bridgewater Commons Mall often to purchase my MAC products if I don't go to Nordstoms at Menlo Mall. My experiences are usually very friendly and quick; today I cannot say the same. I went to Bloomingdales specifically to check out their Alex & Ani bracelets. The girl in the jewelry department was horrible to say the least. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but she was blonde, with wavy/curly hair, and about 5'2". She was so unfriendly and unhelpful. I already knew what bracelet I wanted but she did not ask to assist me in any form. When it was time to pay for my bracelet she rang me up without asking if I was a Bloomingdales member. She put my bracket in a bag without a box nor did she offer me one. I am highly disappointed in this sales associates customer service skills. Needless to say I will have to make it a point to go to Nordstorms for any other Alex & Ani purchases in the future. read more

Bloomingdales Men's Department On two (2) separate occasions I was unable to find a "sales assistant" to help me. On Monday, 11/12/2018 at approximately 2:00 pm I went to the men's department to have the SECURITY TAG removed from a coat I purchased. When I was there to spend money there were sales associates all over the department. Not so much today. When I approached the sales desk there was a man there working at the cash register. When I asked if he could help me, he said NO he was a tailor. But he would find someone to help me. Never happened. A lady who was just coming to work assisted me. I know she was just coming to work because she had her little see through plastic purse. That's so she doesn't take anything. However, in the 20 minutes I waited for her to arrive I could have had suits, sweaters, ties, brief cases and more. She assisted me, apologized profusely and resolved the security tag issue in a minute. If the tailor has asked what my issue was, he could of done the same thing and saved me from standing around for 20 minutes. The assistant to the store manager came to customer service to see me. Unfortunately she received the loud, rude me complaining about the issue. She also was apologetic and very professional. She assured me she would convey my complaint to the store manager. When I was leaving the store I encountered the tailor who was looking for someone to help me. He was talking to the lady who did help me. And when I asked him were the help was he had the nerve to stand there an lie to me and said that the lady that helped me was the person he sent. Edgar (if it was his real name) is a liar and not a good representative of Bloomingdales. I am going to continue to try and find out the name of the store manager and send her a copy of this post. I will also include my destroyed Bloomingdales card. read more

Wow.. so I came after work on a Wednesday and decided to look for some all saints In the men's department. I often shop at this location due to the fact that they usually carry a decent selection of all saints in my size and it is right around the corner from my job. Now one would think that at a Bloomingdales a staff member would come right up to you when they see that you are looking at items. NOT HERE. I looked at the entire selection of all saints for at least 25 minutes until a salesperson acknowledged my presence in the store. I explained to her that I was browsing and am a frequent customer In the all saints section. Maybe you would use that cue to offer a professional "we have some new items here that you may be interested in" or a "could I show you some pieces you might like." No such luck. I grabbed a hoody that I was somewhat interested in and the staff member looked to see if she had it in an extra small. They did not and she flat out told me that the supervisor of all saints was on vacation and this is the reason why no one was manning the all saints section. She also never said would you like to look at any other pieces In this section. Then I went over to the John varvatos section and browsed some shirts. Again there was a staff member present but did not offer to help or recommend any professional advice. I actually called the store to voice my dissatisfaction and the Salesperson that couldn't help me picked up and said "please don't be disappointed." I am in complete shock typing this right now and it goes without saying that I will NEVER return to this men's department again for my all saints. I will stick to ordering online. I purchased a pair of Free People brand pants from Bloomingdales Soho NYC in which they frayed and tore apart the first time my daughter tried them on at home. I returned them to the Bridgewater NJ store within corporate time limit policy, three weeks after the purchase. After being refused a store credit or refund, I asked to speak to the manager of the department (Blond haired woman) who accommodated me with a store credit after a short discussion. Although the return process caused some angst (my intuition told me the saleswoman and manager thought the pants were being returned after been worn by my daughter which caused the damage) , I am satisfied the manager did what was called for and she deserves credit for her managerial decision. read more

The 5 stars are only because of one employee in this store as I was constantly transferred to departments that wouldn't pick up the phone! Then a young lady by the name of Sam (Samantha Parsler) picked up the phone. (After I had been trying to reach someone that could help me for over an hour) Sam went to a completely different department from her own to find what I was looking for. She had it expedited over night from NJ to VA. I just recieved it and it's perfect. Goes to show the results when something is done with a little love. Thank you Sam!!!
