When we got to Union Street, we were able to sit down immediately, even though it was a Sunday morning. Inside was bright vibrant and had plenty of seating. Service was good. We were waited on immediately. Food was good, the white cheddar jalapeño grits were phenomenal. I enjoyed my experience.

Excellent vibe. The music choices were top tier. Loved the waffle. It came with a pile of whipped cream. The star of the show were the jalapeño white cheddar grits. They were so good! The eggs and coffee were also delicious. I love the water bottles. Check out their May specials. They have outdoor dining. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

I have been meaning to take a stroll in Downtown Concord and check out all the local shops. Finally got a chance to have a nice local breakfast. Service was nice, quick and friendly. I ordered scrambled eggs, toast and potatoes. My daughter had the blueberry pancakes that she enjoyed. Such a nice place to sit and relax with a strong cup of coffee. Sit by the window and just gaze out and relax!

This was some of the best brunch I've had in a while. Everything was seasoned very well. My mimosa tasted good. I still wonder what the sweet tea mimosa taste like maybe one day I'll go back and try it. The food was very good and filling the menu was extensive so I can't wait to go back one day and try something else on the menu and you can definitely tell that this is a scratch kitchen restaurant so everything came out fresh and hot. Our waitress was very good and attentive. They also have outdoor seating if you would like to catch a breeze on a nice day 10 out of 10 recommend

    Chilaquiles and Chicken & Waffles

A friend and I tried out Union Street Cafe one weekday for brunch and really enjoyed it! The waitresses were extremely welcoming and attentive and made sure we had what we needed. I ordered the chilaquiles and my friend got chicken and waffles. The chilaquiles were delicious! (Be sure to not let it settle for too long or the tortillas start to get a little soggy). They were a little spicier than expected, but I enjoy spice. If you do not like spicy, I would not recommend. My friend enjoyed her chicken and waffles and felt the chicken was well seasoned and the waffle was tasty! Overall, it was a pleasant experience in downtown Concord and I would come back!

Usually love this place! I've never tried their biscuits and gravy so I figured I'd give them a shot. They were huge, covered in a delicious sausage gravy. The only complaint I had was they did not taste fresh, very dense and kind of Luke warm. I did notice while waiting for the bathroom that there were some biscuits sitting in plastic wrap in a plastic storage tub in their pantry.. they probably reheat to order, which isn't a problem unless they aren't hot like mine. Everything tasted really good it's just the temperature that was a miss. I will be back but will probably skip on the biscuits.

Came to union street Cafe on a Sunday morning, and it was the cutest little Cafe that has a few tables on the inside and nice outdoor seating as well. The café is small but airy at the same time which is nice! We were greeted immediately upon arriving and got to select our own seating. We sat by the window and it was a vibe. Our waitress was really sweet and offered a few recommendations since I had informed her that this was our first time coming. I did have to ask for a kids menu for my son though as it was not provided when we were seated. I'm happy I asked because there was a drastic difference in the prices! I ordered the biscuits and gravy (that includes an egg prepared how you like) which was suggested by our waitress, I wanted breakfast potatoes as well so ordered a side of those as well. My son ordered a waffle off the kids menu which only came with a drink so we had to order a side of bacon. For his drink, he got lemonade. Our food didn't take too long to come out, I overheard one of the other waitresses tell her table that the food is made fresh to order from scratch so, that's good to know. I was not impressed with the biscuits and gravy, it was a bit bland and that's probably because the biscuits are massive and in my opinion need way more gravy. The dish was not hot and the gravy was to thick so the consistency was off putting. The potatoes were piping hot and delicious, it was just way to much food... I hate reheated potatoes so when asked if I wanted a to go box for them, I declined. My son said his waffle was just okay, and made it a point to say he preferred waffle house waffles over this one. He ate it all though so, there's that! My waitress clearly seen that I had hardly touched my food and asked me if I wanted a to go box, I politely declined, but here's my issue, she didn't ask me if I was satisfied with my meal, I clearly was not but there was no inquiry as to why I barely touched my food and was not willing to take it with me. They missed the mark there. I did paid my tab through the QR code and they do ask via a survey on the web about your experience and I left my feedback there, but I'm disappointed that my waitress didn't care to ask. Also, my son didn't drink his lemonade because it was sickly sweet, I tried a sip and boy oh boy was it sweet, we tried diluting it with water and it was still to sweet, imagine how sweet something has to be for a child to reject it! Yes, I still tipped her. They have an interesting menu, so I'd be willing to come back and try something different!

    July Special- Fries Catfish Sandwich

The staff were kind and friendly! It was a great atmosphere. Although with the July special--the catfish sandwich i felt the bread was too tough for the catfish. I couldn't cut through the bread with a knife. The catfish was cooked well but ended up falling apart making the sandwich just too hard to eat with your hands.

My daughter and I wanted to try something different and I've been wanting to explore more on my side of town, so we found Union Street Cafe. We were both immediately drawn to pictures of the Strawberry Crunch pancakes and wanted to try it. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and seated quickly. The atmosphere and vibes were amazing, music was a mixture of pop and R&B, and everyone was friendly. The menu had some great options so it was hard to choose but I ordered the Strawberry Crunch Pancakes, Jalapeño White Cheddar grits, bacon, and eggs. Everything was AMAZING!!!! I don't like spicy food and the grits was not spicy at all! As you see in the picture, I couldn't even eat all of this and took some home, but I would recommend everyone to at least visit very soon! I'm going back and plan on ordering lunch. I was able to look at someone else's table and the burger looked delicious and very filling!

This place was so surprisingly tasty. The blueberry pancake was cooked to perfection. Though their menu is simple, the food looks and tastes amazing. The wait staff was very attentive and it didn't take long at all for my food to come after ordering. There is a ton of seating in here with a view of the street and great lighting to soak up some sun as you start your morning.

This was my first time going to this brunch breakfast area come to find out. It's around the corner from my job. I came here with my husband to have breakfast and it was pretty good. The French toast was the best with the fried chicken and the bacon, not a big fan of the grits or the chorizo with potatoes, but overall the food was pretty good.

The food was pretty good and fulfilling. The place is nice and clean. The staff were nice too. The food took a little less than 15 mins to come out. The potatoes were my favorite, definitely something to share. The waffles were good, not too sweet though. Overall everything was good and the ranch is also very good!!

I liked this place a lot! The eggs were a tad hard for my liking and didn't have any seasoning though. Everything else was great. I'm a French 75 fan so their drink with the sweet tea take on a French 75 caught my eye. I'm glad I tried it too it was different but good. Service was quick and there was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

I ordered and picked up, everyone was nice at pick up. I had to go with the famous food Network sandwhich, The squawking goat. This was a biscuit with perfectly seasoned fried chicken, topped with fried goat cheese and pepper jelly! Every bite was delicious. The fried goat cheese was fried perfect and when you bite into it, it oozed out. I loved the pepper jelly as well, it leaned more on the sweeter side but I didn't mind it all. We also tried the chicken waffles. Again very good. The waffle was seasoned nicely. I personally like my waffles harder, but could of been the drive back to house that softened it up. But the flavor was on point so was okay with it. The chicken like in my biscuit was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tried their churro(iced) latte. Loved it, my mind was set on a super sweet drink BUT this was not at all, was a perfect blend and balance. We got a side of crispy potatoes, weren't a fan of these, no flavor and not really that crispy. But by time we ate everything else the potatoes were an after thought. That be the only thing I wouldn't order again.

A must stop for both dinner and Southern breakfast enthusiasts…read more On my way home from Charlotte, I used Yelp to find me a classic diner to start my day off right. I choose the Crack of Dawn Diner in Concord. I am so glad I did. Crack of Dawn Diner is the real thing--a local Concord breakfast-and-lunch spot serving traditional Southern fare at reasonable prices. The menu caters to local tastes, the dining room is filled with regulars, and the atmosphere is comfortable rather than trendy. Parking is somewhat limited. The private lot surrounding the restaurant was fully used so I parked in the lot next door that had signs that said private property, but it looked like other patrons were parking there also so I took the chance. As it turns out, it was safe to park there. The entrance is very welcoming, as well as the staff. Amanda was my very efficient and nice waitress. There is great teamwork here, and Amanda was well supported by, I believe, the owner who ran my food out and talked a bit with me. The menu is fascinating. A distinctly North Carolina menu. Several things jumped out: * Breakfast special for $6.59 weekdays * Breakfast plates mostly under $12 * Grits included as a side option * Livermush available * City ham and country ham both offered * Pork chops available for breakfast I ordered the country-fried steak with white gravy (essentially chicken-fried steak), along with two sunny-side-up eggs, perfectly prepared grits, a large buttermilk biscuit, and a delicious diner coffee. The restaurant occupies a stand-alone building with a warm, "come on in and rest a spell" atmosphere. Inside, you'll find counter seating, an open kitchen, and tables throughout the dining room. I chose a seat by the window overlooking the parking area. This was a great breakfast, that was reasonably priced, in a great atmosphere, with very nice people. It stuck to both my mind and ribs all day long. After breakfast, I continued on to downtown Concord and spent some time exploring one of North Carolina's most charming revitalized downtown districts. The breakfast was the perfect start to the morning. Crack of Dawn Diner has earned a spot on my repeat list whenever my travels take me through the Charlotte-Concord area.
