No idea why this place isn't rated higher. We stopped in on a whim on our way home from visiting a friend's farm. I know we didn't look or smell very good but we were treated with kindness and respect. We had low expectations based on the current rating but they blew us away! When I mentioned it was our first time in, the barista was enthusiastic with her suggestions and thoughtful in asking our preferences and allergies first. My latte was DELICIOUS. It's hotter than the devil today so, I got it iced (they have the "good ice" small and crunchy!!!) Decor was cute. We stepped next door to the bakery and my daughter got an ice cream. That lady was super sweet as well! All around great experience. This place isn't "on our way" to anywhere but we will certainly be back. I was so impressed that I felt the need to write a review in hopes of it boosting their ratings so others can enjoy it too!

Café Lentz is a European style café in downtown Mt. Pleasant, NC serving craft coffee, paninis, smoothies, and pastries, according to their Facebook page. All I know, is little Mt Pleasant has stepped up their game from a snoozy, nearly invisible hamlet to a stop worth making. Apparently, Café Lentz is associated with 73 & Main (across the street), and possibly the bakery next door (but it was closed when we visited). The offerings are typical of most large cities (hand crafted coffees, sandwiches, etc.) which may make some of the locals frustrated that a basic coffee and BEC biscuit is not available (the Hardee's is still up the road). I like that. As of this writing they have been open about six months. I think they still have some wrinkles that need ironing: the counter area is contentious with the sole bathroom, as well as the condiments counter and ordering station, all competing for the same space. Claustrophobic. The coffee was delicious, but I think the "small" size is one click above a communion cup serving--I'll call it petite. Step up to the larger sizes for a better value. My first visit to Mt Pleasant was 25 years ago and it was all one could do to find a pizza shop. Much has changed and is getting better. Some local hangouts remain (e.g. What-A-Burger #13--yeah!), but Café Lentz is a forward move that I say, "give 'em a whirl." Support the nouveau investors willing to spend some cash in their pockets.

This place is gorgeous and so comfortable!

We live out near the Cabarrus Events Arena and there's not a ton of food options around us, especially for breakfast. That's why, I'm excited everytime something else pops up in Mount Pleasant and this spot... well, I'm not sure why I waited so long to go! This morning I stopped in around 8:15am, there were several customers carrying out as I was walking in, but not overly busy (mind you it's a work day). I ordered the Franklin Street breakfast sandwich, a dark chocolate strawberry latte (seasonal) and a blueberry danish. The latte blew my little tastebuds' minds. It tastes just like a dark chocolate covered strawberry. Not too sweet given it's dark chocolate, but soooo delicious and festive in advance of Valentine's Day. Will definitely be back to try their other seasonal flavors! The breakfast sandwich was also so yummy! The biscuit's just the right size, not too large, to balance the egg, bacon and cheddar and oh so savory. Haven't tried the danish yet, but I'm sure it'll be good too and I'm already convinced I'll become a regular! TL;DR: Highly recommend if you're in the area. Try it all and you won't be disappointed!

They also have a solid selection of pastries and desserts if you're in the mood for something sweet, but I decided to try the turkey avocado melt. It was honestly so good--the pesto really made the sandwich stand out. The vibe here is another highlight. It's a great mix of people working, studying, or just hanging out, which makes it a perfect spot if you're looking to get some work done outside of home.

My husband, however, has no self-control, so he got the Chocolate Strawberry Croissant lol. Both were 10/10. Even the matcha was so aesthetic and delicious! I know some people mention the prices, but honestly, it's spot on. I'd much rather pay for high-quality food and a gorgeous atmosphere than spend the same amount on something mediocre elsewhere. Plus, the service was fast and everyone was so nice. My only regret is not taking a dessert to go! I'll definitely be back.

I wish they had more food options, but it's fine because they make up for it with their amazing brew's that they have. The prices are super reasonable stopped going to Starbucks to come here instead my personal favorite part about my experience with this coffee shop is that my favorite lattes are mocha lattes and this happens to be one of the only spots around here left that actually carry mocha malt powder. Most of these other places just use chocolate syrup, which doesn't give it the right texture and flavor that it needs to be great. They really know what they're doing over there, if you're craving a hot mocha latte, with a beautiful texture similar to hot chocolate - I highly suggest getting one with whipped cream.!

I had the Americano with SF White Chocolate syrup. I was going to get some half & half but they charge $2!!!! That was the only thing that would stop me from going back (or take my own!) We didn't go through the drive through but the way they have it laid out is awful. If you go inside park way out so you don't get blocked. Overall, very nice place. Love the fireplace and plenty of seating.
