My son really enjoys cat cafés. We had been to the one in NoDa and wanted to try this location out. The café is clean, they had baked goods from local bakeries available for purchase along with their café beverages. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The resident cats at this location were older cats that couldn't be bothered with us, lol. There was probably only about one kitten that gave us the time of day, the rest of the cats weren't interested in us. Which is okay, we respected their space! We still enjoyed our time, and would definitely visit again if in the area! read more

This place is beautiful! I love all of the art and how it is detailed and peaceful. You can buy a coffee or a beer and sit inside or outside near a bonfire some weekends. The cat room is by reservation but it has plenty of windows if you just want to look inside. There is a nice desk area for extra work near the bathroom. 10/10 I always recommend Mac Tabby to anyone coming to Concord! read more

We made reservations for our twin toddlers to enjoy Saturday "Kitty Time," which is available twice a month (2nd/3rd Sat of the month). Kitty Time is for kids 0-6, while all other reservations throughout the month are for those 7 and over. This cafe is so cute and welcoming - beautiful interior with a friendly staff. The section with the cats is in its own closed room. All these cats are rescues and adoptable. Visit their site! Our kids had a great time interacting with the cats. It was a bit of a hike for us, but well worth the trip. The menu of drinks was extensive and delicious. Me and the kids each got seasonal items: Butter Beer latte for me, peppermint hot cocoa for the kids. My husband got the Maple Pancake latte. All drinks were amazing, which was just the icing on the cake. Merchandise is also for sale. My husband and I each got hoodies because they were so cute and unbelievably soft. We went here for my daughter's 10th birthday as a special treat for her (she loves cats). It was so much fun. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The sweet woman who greeted us also makes an amazing chai latte. The cats were adorable. They all are available for adoption. If I did not already have 2 cats, I would have loved to take one home. There is a variety of cat toys and comfy cat furniture, as well as a back room where the cats can go if they need some leave and quiet. They all seemed so happy! We are already talking about coming back for my son's birthday. Parking was easy in a free deck across the street. Highly recommend! read more

This place is super cute! The aesthetic is nice, the coffee tastes great, and the hosts are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up getting an elderberry Kombucha to start and finished my hour here with an iced dirty chai with oat milk. I also got espresso on the side to get a feel for the flavor profile of the coffee and it was tasty. It was more on the lighter end with hints of a berry taste -- definitely not smokey, which is a plus for me! My friend got a cupcake iced coffee with soy milk, and he enjoyed it. There is a variety of drinks here for coffee lovers, tea drinkers, and anyone who wants smoothies and brownies. The merch items are simple in nature, but soft and warm. The enamels and magnets are cute, and everything is decently priced. If you wanna purchase coffee, there is a ground and whole bean version. Their bags of coffee are decently priced. Actually a steal compared to other coffee shops. Moving on, as soon as you enter, you feel the warmth and love of this place. Everyone seems to know each other and get along. Really feels like a community. The cats are all lovely! They all have different stories -- some of rescued, some are surrendered. The staff here do take care of them well, and they all seem trusting of the workers. There are toys to use to play with the kitties, and you are allowed to pet and play with them. The only rule: don't pick up the cats. The waiver you sign before kitty time is really easy to fill out, and staff will assist if needed. As a tourist, this was a really great experience! I got to check something off my bucket list, and had a very pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend as a spot to check out if you have time. read more

This is a really lovely and nice cafe, and I think it would be fun to just come and sit, but as someone who is actively looking for a cat I found the experience kind of frustrating. I got scheduled in the cat room at the same time as a party of six kids and teens, and whenever I tried to interact with a cat they would laser pointer it away from me. So I left with only a vague impression of the cat I tried to go to see (who seemed a bit stressed out by the zoo situation anyway). And then I got home to find that the rescue org had rejected me because my current cats are due for rabies shots, which I literally just got the notice for within the last few weeks. Anyway, I'm still in the market for a cat if you know of one that needs a home. read more

Although you aren't allowed to pick up the cats, there are many and they come up to you and will sit on your lap if you are still and patient. This has become my favorite hangout, by far. The coffee selection is varied and imaginative, the beer is primarily local, and there's even a wine selection. Select baked goods are also available. The staff is friendly, informative, and seem to really care that the guests enjoy their stay. Located in downtown Concord, just one serene street off the main drag, in a recently renovated mill-era building, the guest area is cozy, warm, comfortable, eclectic, and speckled with cat-themed artwork, mostly by artists that actually frequent the place. For those who would rather sip al fresco, the large covered front porch is shaded by a wise old tree and heating stands keep things comfortable on all but the coldest North Carolina winter nights. This porch overlooks a small private parking lot that hosts food trucks on Saturday nights. There is free street parking and two free parking structures within 500 feet.
