We are definitely staying here everytime we need a getaway from OC/LA to Paso Robles. Worth the trip! Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and OMG. Complements to the Chef! We had such a blast and it was definitely the reset we needed with this getaway! I wish we could stay longer! WE WILL BE BACK!

Rosemary potatoes had no hint of rosemary at all. Eggs, chicken and "rosemary" potatoes lacked seasoning. Our food arrived lukewarm and tea was simply cold. On the second day, food was warmer but they forgot our tater tots. Front desk was quick to remedy that. It arrived within 10 mins hot and crunchy, as it should be. The continental breakfast at the lobby was better than the savory & sweet selections, in our opinion. Despite the breakfast disappointment, it's still 4 stars!

We stayed in the Oak Room which was very clean, well maintained, and so cozy. The views are incomparable. PS - the rooms do not have TV. Which was fine for us. There is a shared living room with a large TV and different options for music, for those that need it. The breakfast was amazing! Big compliments to the chef. Highlight of our experience. We enjoyed exploring the grounds. All the animals are very gentle. Wanted to see the cows, but couldn't find them. Detracting half a star to the overall review for: confusion on check-in & overnight dog barking. Upon arrival, We walked in with another couple, and there wasn't anyone to greet us for about 5 to 10 minutes. The other couple texted, called without connection. There were no instructions on checking in either. So we were just confused together for a while until our host appeared. In addition, a dog was barking intermittently the whole night, for both nights that we stayed. So that detracted a little but overall a good experience and would recommend.

The grounds are beautiful and unique, featuring a lovely garden, expansive lawn and carefully curated outdoor patios overlooking valley views. Owners Neil and Gaye are not only hospitable, but excellent party planners and undercover gourmands. We were greeted us with sparkling ruby pomegranate mimosas, created as a signature drink for my party, and enjoyed a full bar, along with beautifully curated charcuterie board and hors d' oeuvres DJ Mackenzie kept the vibe perfect with her keen ability to dial into the crowd and give them exactly what they're looking for- during cocktail hour, dinner and especially with dancing. Just let her design the soundtrack to your party.... The fanfare ground to a halt as Gaye surprised me with a delicately flavored almond lemon cake topped with pistachio rose petal fondant icing. Having my birthday at this magical place was one my friends and I will never forget... If you're looking for a venue that stands out from the usual options and offers a refined yet welcoming atmosphere, I can't recommend Lilac Farm enough. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Perfect setting for an anniversary or just a weekend getaway! Cons: Beds need a topper and pillows are deflated. Although I love the inn my sleeping wasn't 5star. They usually have fresh cookies, however there were none this trip. It didn't bother me so much but I did hear 2 other guests expressing their disappointment. When you set the standard and have repeat guests it's expected... The cheese trays are usually over the top (and they were the first night). See picture- however we had an extended stay this visit and they declined severely the last night- that was a bummer because we were looking forward to it during the day. My boyfriend and I came to Calipaso Winery for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend getaway,…read moreand it has honestly been such a disappointing experience. When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.
