We stayed in the motel, low frills but cute clean and affordable. This is an excellent place to stay for a weekend of skiing at Hunter (20mins away). What would make it even better is if they reopened their epically cool bar to make it more of a destination. With everything around Hunter Mountain closing early it would be great to have a cool hangout spot at your lodging. Everyone that we met staying there was either skiing or hiking and surely we would have enjoyed making friends over some drinks after a day of fun. Lastly but most importantly, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! My car broke down on the trip and both Nate and Cassy went to great lengths culling together local resources to help us find solutions for the car and other transport. Their generous kindness truly made this experience so much more bearable. We may have lost a day of skiing but we made some friends. I look forward to seeing Nate and Cassy again when we return!

I didnt even take my dog to the room. When I requested to get a refund ( on calm voice and attitude) and leave , owner was telling me: Go to the Hell! I hope you will enjoy that. Shove your card to your ass. Take your dog too , to hell. I just can't believe how unprofessional , nasty person can run this motel. It was clean, comfortable, unique, and a lot of fun, offering the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. What I loved most was that it felt like camping, but without sacrificing comfort. The Lushna Suite gave us that outdoorsy experience and connection to nature while still having a real bed. My back was extremely thankful that I was sleeping on a comfortable mattress instead of the ground. I was also a little concerned that being so immersed in the woods would mean dealing with bugs, but we had absolutely zero issues during our stay. The property itself is beautiful, with plenty of fun things to do on-site, but we spent most of our days exploring the surrounding area. We hiked, kayaked, and fished, then returned each evening to relax and enjoy the atmosphere at Eastwind. A special shoutout to the food. The BBQ was outstanding, honestly some of the best I've had in a very long time. It far exceeded expectations and ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. Specialty drinks were delicious too and my son said it was the best Shirley Temple he's ever had! The combination of unique accommodations, great food, a beautiful setting, and easy access to outdoor activities made this a truly memorable getaway. Most importantly, it gave me the opportunity to spend quality time with my son and create memories we'll both cherish for years to come. For reference, we stayed in one of the Lushna cabins that are best described as the size of a big teepee tent with one beautiful window wall. First surprise, I don't think were were fully expecting how small it was and that there is basically just a bed and then room for a bag or two. Yes, the bathrooms are detached and you have to go outside to get to them but they are a few feet away, private, and they keep them so incredibly warm that it was actually really nice in there. They are very spacious, have plenty of shelves and the shower is huge and luxurious. My bathroom at home honestly pales in comparison. There are two saunas on property but the one right outside of our cabin was not working, most likely because of how cold it was outside. It was a bummer, especially because we didn't want to trek to the other farther away one. We ate at Dandies, their on site restaurant, our first night and everything was incredible. Their staff was super friendly and lovely to chat with. We went back for the mulled wines more than once and stopped by in the AM for coffees before leaving for the day. It was great to have so close by. Our first morning we tried the breakfast basket and loved that it just appeared at our door. For $30 we got a Stanley thermos of coffee, hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfaits, OJ, and croissants. Nothing too crazy but I loved having a slow start to the day with breakfast in bed. Windham is filled with great places to eat, cute antique shops, a movie theater, bars, and is not far at all from other great towns. This wasn't a ski trip for us, but we never ran out of things to do. Yes, it was expensive and might not have fully felt like it was worth the price with all of the surprises, but we had an amazing time and we also got engaged over this weekend in this teeny tiny little teepee tent so my heart is full of love and 5 stars for everyone.

We made a fire in the shared area outside, poured a glass of wine and watched while younger couples played cornhole, etc. It was our anniversary so I ordered chocolate covered strawberries, cheese tray and champagne for the room. We knew there were very few restaurant options in the area so I brought some containers of good soup to microwave and enjoy in the screened porch (our cottage had one). If you want to feel like you've gone on an exotic trip without the airports, baggage claim, and headaches, this is the place for you. We were there in late August but I bet fall is gorgeous with leaves, and earlier in the summer you could "live" at the pool with floating lounge chairs and trees to offer late afternoon shade. Coffee and biscotti are available from 7:30am till 10am in the morning. The staff is composed of four lovely women whose names all begin with the letter A. There are also s'more kits supplied to be made in multiple fire-pits at your leisure by the creek. Recommendations from dining, shopping, hikes or some great live music are given by this great staff. What is unexpectedly amazing about this hotel is the service. I have never experienced such warmness and understanding from any hotel staff. There was a snow storm on Sunday and my friends actually got into a car accident. Thankfully, nothing terrible happened and everyone was safe, but the whole experience had us shook. That was the day we were supposed to check-out. As you can imagine, we were all worried about driving back in these conditions, especially as the storm kept getting worse, rather than slowing down. The hotel staff offered to extend our stay, free of charge, so that we could wait out the storm. They even provided us with extra linens and towels so we could have a more comfy evening. I cannot say how thankful we all are. Our stay at the Kaatskill Mountain Club was amazing. Aside from the amazing staff, the hotel amenities themselves are pretty cool. We had a fun time at the hot tub and heated pool, and the complimentary breakfast is the perfect pick me up before a long ski day. If you're looking for a cozy weekend getaway, and an amazing hospitality, that's the place for you.

Breakfast was included, and it was a "grab and go" assortment of oatmeal, pastries, apples and granola bars, along with hot beverages. I would have liked it if the hot beverages had been available after skiing as well, but there were coffee pots in the room with coffee, teas and actual mugs, along with creamers and sweeteners. Tim was a friendly host who provided a nice breakfast and great stories. Eating on the patio with other guests while enjoying the birds and river was memorable! The 1847 house is full of wonderful character right down to the creaky floors and steep stairs. But the apartment was very dirty: large dust clumps, pill under table, food bits in and around sink with bugs flying around, very dusty/grimy. Two windows didn't have privacy curtains making our daughters uncomfortable sleeping in the living room. And viewed from those windows was clutter in the adjoining indoor patio and crutches leaning against a fence. The bathroom was tiny, very tiny dirty shower with used loofa's inside, no TP holder and a plate of mostly used bars of soap. The common rooms were very cluttered. That beautiful long table was too cluttered to visit and the living room was cluttered with laundry and drying laundry. But if you go into it knowing that, it is a great experience because of the interactions with the people, location and this charming home. And it was our most comfy bed of the trip!!
