I contacted union landscape to schedule an appointment for designing my back patio. The customer service was absolutely terrible. I can't comment on the work itself because they left me high and dry twice, so I didn't pursue further. They didn't come off as professional in the least, which is disappointing since they have some solid reviews. I called to set up an appointment, when they returned my call we missed each other again, I later got a text saying he was on his way- which bothered me because he didn't know where the property was and you can't just announce your heading to evaluate without speaking to property owner- I replied that we could schedule something for the following week and he said yes and we did. He never confirmed and he didn't show. I was mad but called again and then spoke with some secretary and let her know, she scheduled me and let me know that the person coming would call and text me a day before to confirm and generally have a quick chat about project- that didn't happen, so I called to confirm, the secretary confirmed and apologized; come day of appointment, he doesn't show, doesn't call, nothing. A couple of months ago, Chris and his team removed a very large old unruly palm bush, installed two areas of St. Augustine turf, and set-up sprinklers for the new sod. Chris will work with you to design the exact layout you want, pick out all the materials you want that are high quality. Unprofessional. Called me back originally and we scheduled for an appointment to view my landscape project. He texted that day saying something came up and asking if he can come the next day. I said that's OK and let him pick the time for the next day. He picked 3 o'clock. I had to get off work early and starting from 3 o'clock on I was asking his whereabouts and eventually an hour and a half after he said the traffic was just too bad so he had to get off the freeway. Chris and his crew were incredible. We wanted to rip out our front lawn and replace it with more drought tolerant plants and have a path put in over to our side yard. Chris' prices were fair and reasonable, but the speed and efficiency of his crew blew us away. Chris communicated with us well in advance of the project, provided us with a diagram and estimate of scope of work and budget for plants. We thought it would take a few weeks to complete all the work, there was a lot of overgrown brush on the side that we thought would take a long time to clear -- it was done in two days! The entire project, with all planting, ground cover and clearing of the old took 7 days total. Incredible! We are now going to hire him to do two more landscaping project in the backyard. I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years, and Chris and Union landscaping are among the best, if not the very best, in terms of communication and quality. I was driving down Huntington Drive in Arcadia around 4:18 pm on Friday, February 4th 2022. I was driving in the lane furthest to the left, approaching an intersection, & the Union Landscape driver was in the lane on my right. Because they didn't have their blinker on, I gave them the benefit of the doubt & assumed maybe they were just getting really close to my lane, but didn't mean to merge. However, in an attempt to not miss their turn at the intersection, they forced their way into the lane I was driving in. Normally I wouldn't be upset at something like this, but given that I had to slam on my breaks & I had children in the car, it was very frightening. There was no room to merge, the driver just expected me to break. I could care less about the services they provide, if you're hiring people that would rather threaten someone's life instead of missing their turn and going on a 2 minute detour, i feel it reflects poorly on the company.
