Cute little shop
Caryn K.

I was introduced to this local shop by my family and it was the perfect breakfast stop! I wish I lived here, because I would be a regular at this place. I ordered the breakfast sammie with sausage, egg and sriracha mayo. It was delicious! The mayo is what really took this to the next level. The bread was light and fluffy. The shop itself had lots of snacks for purchase and regular grocery items. It was the perfect local convenience shop. I will make sure to come back here when I'm in town. The downside is it's small, so don't plan to eat inside or really here at all, but it's a walkable city, and there is plenty of places to walk around outside while enjoying your food/coffee.

Got the bacon egg avocado breakfast sandwich this morning. The bacon was barely cooked, which was gross, and I wound up picking it off. The sandwich was also really small (think McMuffin size lol) and wound up costing $9 plus tip with no side or chips. After ordering the mid sandwich I got handed this pamphlet on the way out. Really regret supporting this place that apparently steals tips from its service workers and busts union efforts. Will not be returning.

sadly the management will NOT deal with the rat problem their unenclosed refuse feeds. a giant hole or three disgorges rats everywhere over the patio terrace every night. Management has been asked to account for months of a tip jar and has not. They fired their truly caring senior staff who would nip this rat problem in the bud over labor rights issues. So: good people work here. With good high end products. But.

The front staff was extremely kind and accommodating to my family and I when we came, so I have to add a star for that. My rating is this low because the sausage in my sandwich was legitimately RAW on the inside. I ate about half of it before I noticed. I'm in Arlington visiting family and had to go on an airplane about 4 hours from when I had the sandwich. I was terrified of getting sick, my mom called and explained and the person who picked up the phone told her she was wrong, that it was fine and lots of people freak out about it. I've attached photos to show that it was in fact raw. I got sick to my stomach a few times in the next few hours. I'm ok now but waiting to see if I get food poisoning in the next 12-24 hours. Please consider going elsewhere if you're craving a sandwich. Update: I have food poisoning

My boyfriend and I stopped in as he lives a few blocks away. I found the prices to be (surprisingly) reasonable for sandwiches and salads. My boyfriend got the TAPs grilled cheese, which was more like a sandwich with melted cheese. It had a very tasty sauce that made it and the turkey portion was generous. I got a turkey goat cheese salad which was pretty solid. It normally comes with pickled onions but they let me swap that out for avocado! They also sell your basic staples- milk, snacks, frozen food, etc. Pro tip: this place is dog friendly! They have some out door seating and a dog bowl of water (and even some dog treats!) You can leave your dog leash on a hook right outside if you just need to run in quickly.

Roast beef sandwich...proper.

An Italian sandwich the size of Texas... sign me up!…read more I went into this market when I was exploring Georgetown one day and I naively ordered an Italian sandwich and once they received it I realized it was big enough to feed a family. I found the cutest little park bench and decided to dig in. Needless to say I had left overs but I could have found a way to eat this whole sandwich because it was that good! Every topping was homemade and you could tell. Def a must stop in DC.

The sandwiches looked epic and the photos of the place looked adorable for a local joint. We walked over from our hotel in Georgetown and were overwhelmed by the sandwich choices. Caught between the Grinder and the Pastrami, we went with the employee's suggestion for the latter. About 5 minutes later we were handed a wrapped sandwich the size of a football. We found a quiet spot to unwrap and enjoy it and dug in. Frankly, I wouldn't order it again, and I think we would have enjoyed the grinder more. It was just a huge pile of meat on pumpernickel bread with mustard. Flavor was meh. Neither of us was overwhelmed for nearly $25. Props for the cute European goods in the shop, though, and the employees were courteous and friendly. But next time I'll look elsewhere for lunch.

I returned nearly after a year and happy to see improvements in packaging. Love foil wrapping because it does not leak and holds the sandwiches better. I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

People fishing for compliments is the worst right??? But RESTAURANTS fishing for compliments?…read more Perfection, apparently. I was in the neighborhood for a couple days for work and this shop was only two blocks away. Two things I love- a good sub and a short walk - so it's automatic for me. As long as you're ok dropping $25 on lunch, don't miss this place. Honestly you can probably make this a two part lunch/dinner portion anyway. The subs are big. The toppings are plenty. The bread is perfect. They have my favorite like of drinks, Just Iced Tea, and even Utz Salt and Pepper chips. The music is good but unfortunately no one around to give you any flash art tattoos which seems like a missed opportunity given their decor.

Everything is fresh. The bread is from Cardinal Bakery (bonus). They have several popular and unique sandwiches like The Crunchy Boi. Usually split one with the boyfriend. The Portfino sandwich hit the spot and bursting with flavor in every bite! The sandwich was stuffed with a heap of veggies (mushrooms, peppers, onions, arugula) with goat cheese and topped with lemon aioli, delicious! The Monaco roasted veggie sandwich is very flavorful! The sandwich was stuffed with fried eggplant, grilled zucchini, stracciatella, tomato, arugula and roasted red pepper spread. The Parmigiano sandwich with eggplant was more like a Caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella cheese, greens, tomato, and crispy thinly sliced eggplant stuffed between scrumptious moist Focaccia bread. This isn't a traditional sloppy Joe's Eggplant Parm sandwich (there's no marinara sauce!) While the ingredients were neatly tucked inside and I enjoyed the sandwich, the sandwich particularly was a little bit dry and I think a bit of sauce like pesto or marinara would go a long way. The Nutella Brownie is best eaten at room temperature, it tastes chewy and pretty awful cold. Let it thaw. Note the sandwich shop is now open Mon - Sun 10am - 4pm (it used to be open Wed - Sun and I made the mistake of walking over a mile from work on Tues when it was closed! My husband got the Piccata sandwich, which is a chicken mushroom and caramelized onion sandwich on focaccia bread. This sandwich was honestly a 10 out of 10. It was savory, umami and a little sweet from the caramelized onions. The chicken was really juicy and flavorful--not at all dry. I got the Caprese sandwich which was good, but it could really use a bit of salt. If it was an option to add Bacon, I would've definitely done that. I also wish that they used heirloom tomatoes instead of regular Roma tomatoes. Overall, really great sandwich options and a great place for lunch in the city.
