Great beer selection. Food - typical bar fare. Nothing to get too worked up about food-wise. Reminds me of generic "Ye Olde College Pub". Very serviceable place for going out with the guys or watching the Flyers. Probably not the place you want to take the fair maiden's father when you start discussing marriage and you are fantasizing about a piece of his bank account. Food and drink have not changed any -- competitively priced and good. Service has gone downhill. Two years ago there was a blonde bartender, on duty at least either Tuesday or Thursday. She was good, gave attention to both people seated, as well as at the bar. Lately, the service has stunk. All attention has been focused on the "barflies", and the people seated for a full meal can go to hell. Staff never comes over to ask how things are, or if there's anything they can get customers. gotta love the wings here....the honey caribbean are the shit. the key is also the blue cheese, which is the best and most unique blue cheese i've ever had. having said that, be prepared to spend a small fortune to enjoy these wings and blue cheese. They are expensive as hell but are very good. An extra blue cheese is like 1.50....an absolute travesty. Union jacks wings are the best in the area, only downside they don't deliver. A bit pricey, but worth it. Whether regular buffalo style or special, they always satisfy. Beer selection is HUGE and never the same. Always rotating in some beers you have never heard of. Seating is tight but as long as its not happy hour you should be OK. Parking lot is tight too but plenty of street parking nearby. Staff is friendly, I highly recommend if you live around Glenside. read more

Been going to Jacks for 20 years and love it and always will but damn spend a few thousand and spruce up the bathroom. Place is a dump, faucet was broken off, toilet was broken, paint peeling, just nastiness. I'm 40 now not 20 so I guess this matters. Have lived in Glenside for 10+ years and this has been one of my favorites. They always have a really solid beer list, and the food WAS decent. BUT, the last 3 or 4 times we have gotten wings, we've been disappointed. Over cooked and either swimming in sauce or dry as dust. The English chips were good but have also slipped. Sucks, because there isn't a "go to" spot for wings in the neighborhood, but now I have to shop. You should too. read more

Been going to Jacks for years. Great tap selection, amazing bottle selection, and also the usual domestics. It has pretty good wings, and their chips are awesome. The rest is some pretty decent pub grub, with emphasis on British things like fish 'n chips but they offer burgers and cheesesteaks too. On a friday night this place is booming, with a friendly and nice atmosphere. Great bar to hit with friends for a catch up, or to watch a game. If you love wings and a great beer selection, THIS is the place to go. Yes, this is a cash only pub, but if you love a great small pub experience with a huge restaurant/bar beer selection, there is no place better than UJ's. Some may call it a "Dive" and that's just fine by me because call it what you will but it's fantastic in every way. I am lucky enough to only live 15 minutes away and there are probably 20 places in between me and UJ's to get wings but it's worth going out of the way. The beer selection is always rotating and they do a great job of sprinkling in hard to find beers (such as Pliny the Elder) at times and also feature a brewery for a week from time to time. The food is great, simple choices, all delicious, but you BETTER get wings, I don't care if you're a vegetarian!! I have had every sauce there and have never been disappointed once, even the Southern Country Garlic is great. Highly highly recommend the Cajun and the Carribbean BBQ sauces, both are my favorite. The staff is incredibly friendly and after only a couple visits it begins to feel just like stopping at a friends for a brew. So lucky to have a place like this nearby, very rare find!! read more

This place is a small dive bar with great beers, wings and friendly staff. The booths are a bit hard on the tush but you quickly forget about that once the suds start flowing and the wings are delivered with smiles. The crowd mainly consists of locals giving it a nice small town charm. Its an ok place to watch some sports, not good for a bachelor's party, but best for catching up with some old friends. read more

We ordered wings and a chicken caesar salad, both were delicious. Not so easy to swallow, the bait and switch price on the menu. Since Union Jacks does not have a official website I relied on the pricing I saw on 4 different sites when looking for take out online. Needless to say was very shocked when my husband came home and said that the bill was $10 more than expected, and oh yeah they don't take debit/credit. However, for a $2 surcharge you can use their mac machine. We called management the next day to complain about the pricing and no one was available to talk to us, but a not so nice bar maid was glad to tell us that we should have checked the price before we ordered. Okay, even if it wasn't your website, you think after looking at 4 different sites ( Yelp, Foursquare, All menus, restaurants.com) we wouldn't have had to ask what's the price? And you guessed it there was nothing the girl was going to do about it. I don't care how good your food is, poor customer service trumps everything. Keep your wings, I'll go elsewhere. read more
