I have to say I'm a fan of the Plano location but it's always crowded and so often not able to sit at the bar where my wife and I prefer to sit. But as soon as we walked into this new location in Denton we were immediately impressed with the layout and the beautiful Bar. Found two seats pretty easily. Got Great Service from Red and ordered some food all of which was delicious. Only recommendation is for the meat and cheese board which is a much smaller and less expensive than the Plano location that actual slices of cheese are included rather than chilled cheese spread other than that great experience and look forward to returning! read more

We came here for a wedding weekend welcome dinner and it was such a great experience. The servers were attentive and helpful! At one point I wanted to order shots for the special couple and the server made sure I was able to order exactly what they wanted (salt, lime, chilled etc). We were seated in a private dining room which was also very nice! I loved the light halloween decorations as well! I got the mint condition to drink which was fruity and complimented the gin well. I also ordered the gold root mule which was flavorful and refreshing. Both drinks tasted fresh! We ordered the shrimp appetizer which had a nice light heat and sweet flavor. The fried breading gave it a nice crunch and the slaw had a great neutral flavor to balance out the powerful flavor of the shrimp. We also had the caesar salad which tasted like a classic caesar and the croutons had a great garlic flavor and fun crunch. When ordering the classic pizza we asked for the spicy sauce. This was a great addition! The spicy was very manageable and elevated the pizza just enough! There were plenty of toppings and lots of cheese. A solid pizza to satisfy the craving! read more

We recently visited the Union Bear in Denton, we had been to the Frisco/Plano location before but we really like the quaintness and decor of the Denton location. Our server Daisy was AWESOME! she was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Especially in giving good recommendations when we were between items. We got the pretzel bites to start, which were really good! The salad with blackened salmon on top and I forget what they were called but similar to a "dynamite shrimp" type dish were both really good too! Drinks were also great (my husband got a few different beers all of which he said were nice! He drinks mostly IPA drinks and is super picky so for him to find good beer is saying alot! I had a few different cocktails all of which were super refreshing on the hot day it was) we would recommend anything to eat or drink from there for sure! Next time you go be sure to ask for Daisy, she will greet you with a smile and make sure you have a wonderful experience! read more

such a lovely place, i've been three times so far and each time has been wonderful. the food is delicious, especially the pizza and the whole restaurant is such a cozy atmosphere and well decorated. the third time however, they got our pizza wrong, forgot a topping and had the wrong cheese but they were super busy so we completely understood, plus having worked in food service, mistakes happen! our server was so kind and understanding about it, and later the manager came over and expressed apologies as well and really, no biggie because mistakes happen, but then decided to pay for our entire meal that night!!!! the staff is truly so kind and generous, and that gesture really made our night. i wish i caught the server and manager's name so i could give them a shoutout. of course we will be coming here again :) read more

Great location for downtown Denton. Park here and enjoy what Denton has to offer! This location has pool, it has darts it also has foolsball table too! Great hangout spot! Pizza here too! $18 We had a beer $6 Mexican lager. They let you taste any beer you want to try! Definitely makes it easier to enjoy and finish the beer to your liking. Easy chill out spot. Beers are fresh and delicious. With expansion, Union Bear has absolutely upped their brewing game. Try the New Zealand Pilsner - so refreshing. Lots of fantastic and varied food options. We will have to explore more. Dry spiced wings - absolutely craveable. The crust on the hand stretched pizza dough is not too thick/doughy and had a perfect chew and crispness. Lemon Blueberries cake is surprisingly light and not overly sweet - fantastically topped with vanilla ice cream. Great spot for any time bites and beverages! This place is sooo cool! They have such unique decorations and the outside area has a lot of games to play. I ordered a skinny bear which I believe had vodka and tahini on the side and it was very delicious and packed a punch. We ordered the pretzel bites and they are delicious. It comes with cheese sauce and some strong mustard and they are both good. My husband got the Hawaiian pizza and I think added pepperoni and it was cooked to perfection. I really loved my grown up tenders, and it comes with three sauces which is the best. We would definitely come back,even just for the drinks. read more

First things first. Katie is awesome! She handled our rambunctious group of seven like a champ and we will request one of her tables anytime we return. My hungry belly was so happy with the beer and the food. Both were outstanding. The New England IPA was worthy of a growler fill and the West Coast IPA was very piney and my hungry belly enjoyed it more than the double West Coast IPA. They have plenty of other beer and wine options that are sure to please the masses. The food was well prepared and the fish and chips met the approval of our Scottish guest. The salmon added to the UB bowl was cooked perfectly but wasn't the highlight of the bowl, it was the tofu that was absolutely delicious and that is a hard thing to accomplish. Our server was ever so attentive, didn't bother us, but made sure she was available; if I recall her name was Tia. The ambiance is so nice, it's cozy yet roomy; hard to describe, kind of reminded me of the microbreweries I frequented in the Bay Area from long ago. We ordered beer samplers; 4 for $8.00 a bargain. Beers are great. I loved the Amber Ale and the Heffeweizen best. The food: We ordered pretzel bits. Yum, served warm with a house mustard sauce and cheese sauce. We opted just for mustard and it didn't disappoint. I ordered the UB Bowl. It was very large and very tasty. The dressing is amazingly delicious. My husband ordered the Reuben sandwich and said it was very well made; he really enjoyed it. All in all, we will definitely be back; this one is now on our rotation list. read more

Union Bear Brewery? More like the best spot to eat and hang in Denton! Living nearby, I've been eagerly watching the transformation--the art going up, the exterior changes--each step building my excitement to finally visit. And from day one, my girlfriend and I have been blown away by how laid-back the vibe is and, more importantly, how amazing the food tastes. We've only had one server, and honestly, we plan on keeping it that way because Bruce is the man! From the very first day y'all opened, Bruce has been on point--confident in the menu, giving spot-on recommendations, and matching the vibe effortlessly. You'd think he's been working there for years. We've now been back three times, and every visit feels like it's still opening day--the food quality, service, speed, and atmosphere are consistently top-notch. Really nice place for Denton. Very popular and food and brews put BJs Denton to shame. BJs used to be our go to, but they have dive bombed the past couple years, which is so sad for us. I changed from 4 stars to 5 stars because of one thing I forgot. I have never experienced a staff so friendly, not just our server, but everyone was fantastic.
