Tuna (or not) & Mayo Onigiri
    Cheryl V.

Orlando-Mills Market~ We've been wanting to try the Onigiri at Unigiri for quite sometime. The gal at the front counter was extremely helpful and explained all of the different flavors so we could choose wisely. Unfortunately this is probably the most disappointing Onigiri we've ever had. We ordered 4 different ones to try. Tuna, Beef, Shrimp, and Salmon. ALL 4 had very little to no filling whatsoever. All rice and nothing else. I only bothered to take a picture of the tuna and mayo one. They were so disappointing. We just dug out what little meat we could find and tossed everything else in the garbage. I am completely shocked because I thought this place was recommended as a possible Michelin star kind of establishment. Not exactly sure what all these wonderful reviews are talking about. I had to do an up close picture so you could actually SEE the tiny bits of tuna. I took an after shot too, so you could see what was left when we ate the little bits of tuna. I even highlighted and circled the little bits of tuna. The beef tasted pretty good for what little you could find. (You'll see my pictures.) The shrimp tempura was delicious, but only had two little pieces of shrimp. The salmon Onigiri was the exact same meat as the tuna. We tried a sandwich from one of the other vendors and it was delicious. We left hungry and went across the street to have ice cream! Overall, it was quite the disappointing lunch. We definitely will go back to eat at Saigon Snow, however, because we love Saigon Snow!!

Popped in here on Friday afternoon, We ordered the Uni onigiri $25, chicken onigiri, and salmon onigiri, these around 4-6$ something like that. I really enjoyed the uni onigiri, all the toppings on top were delightful. The salmon one was also delicious. I liked the chicken one because of the spicy mayo sauce on top. Plenty of parking, spacious, able to order multiple items from different vendors. Overall, ambiance was fine. Service was ok, when I told the girl I wanted the uni one, She had some attitude saying it's $25.. like ok?? lol obviously I'm going to pay for it so why the attitude.

My absolute favorite Asian spot in Orlando that's not sushi. So affordable and so tasty. My favorite is the tuna one. The salmon one was okay too. I've also had the uni and it was so good. Very creamy. The hashbrowns here are a must. Has a really great spicy salty curry type seasoning on it. All the food tastes so fresh even though it's "sitting out". Service is super nice too. Only thing I wish was the seating area in the place to be a little more kept up and cleaner. The floor is so sticky. Also the rice kind of falls apart so I wish they gave like a small plate or bowl and chopsticks. Just a thought.

Went to Mills Market and got overwhelmed on what to eat or what to get with so many different options Able to try a few things at unigirl. Love onigiri and they have a great selection of them. But don't miss out on their desserts- really great egg custard (Tamago purin) and mango Panna Cotta. The server was helpful for people who are not familiar with the menu and explained everything. Can't wait to come back.

Michelin guide said this was a Bib Gourmet location. Located inside Mills Market the parking can be a challenge but behind and sometimes on Colonial spots are available. A walk up counter with a view to the crew cranking out rice with yummy surprises inside. I ordered up salmon, shrimp and tuna/mayo. Salmon was ok. Not my favorite of the three but still ok. The tuna/mayo was pretty good. The slight sriracha bite was just right. The shrimp one was my favorite. Didn't taste "fishy" at all. We also had the curry hash brown. Very good. I would say the highlight. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and patient as it was my first visit. Not a bad value either. Put the receipt in photos so you could see what we ordered. I could have just had two and been sated. Lots of choices at Mills Market. And this is a good one.

    Unagi (eel) I like it
    Rachel M.

I tried the unagi (eel) and I really liked it. It gives me spam musubi vibes without the spam but with the seaweed and rice. It's a good size and portable. I would probably try the miso salmon next time. Service was very nice and helpful and quick. Lots of other options here at Mills Market. This was just one of the few.

Came here while we waited for our table at Zaru, and it's in a cute little market place. I really loved the tuna one I got and the cute stickers. A good appetizer to hold us over until our meal at Zaru! I would definitely come back here!

A spectacular little kiosk located in an amazing Asian food hall in Orlando. If you come here (or any of the places at this location) good luck finding parking close to the front. The lot they have is small and ruthless with everyone else trying to find spots as well. There is street parking as well but difficult to see what is good and what can get you a ticket if you park in the wrong area. The location itself is amazing and you can see their kiosk by their adorable banner and front counter. My wife and I stood for about fifteen minutes in line to get some of their onigiri. We got a few different ones including the shrimp tempura, tuna mayo and the miso tantan. The rice to meat ratio is spectacular. Every bit is the perfect balance. The shrimp tempura was heavenly and the perfect crunch. The tuna mayo was the right consistency and had a nice seasoning to it as well. The tantan was very interesting and while I loved it, I wouldn't go out of my way to get this one again personally. Prices are reasonable, each item costing about $4-$6 depending on the filling inside. The staff was also very friendly and hard working, you can see them making everything right behind the counter!

Spicy Garlic Crab $6 (front) and Fried chicken $4.50 (back)
    Marisa C.

We've been wanting to try Unigirl of awhile now and try to hit their soft openings. Finally was able to snag some on a Thursday afternoon, they seemed to make many different varieties when we visited. We tried the fried chicken, $4.50 and the spicy garlic crab, $6.50. Of the two I think the fried chicken was better, although I wasn't too impressed with either of these. I think they are a little pricey for what you get and I don't think the rice tasted that special. Service was quick and they helped us pick our choices. I don't think I'd try it again but it was nice to give it a shot.

This place has been on my list for a while now, and it jumped to the top of the best after I experienced the best restaurant in town, Sorekara. Sister restaurants, along with the best noodles in town, Zaru. Not only related to greatness, but internationally recognized now on the Michelin Guide. I had to come check it out. This place takes up a really gorgeous piece of real estate in the Mills Market. Natural looking wooden counters, curtains reminiscent of a Japanese izakaya, just a cool looking spot. In the hour we waited for them to open, the team working hard the whole time, making their signature onigiri. Service was dynamite. Very nice people, many of whom I recognized from Sorekara. Huge smiles on their face, friendly, warm service. The best service in town. As for the food, we only got to try a couple of things, because we tried things from other stalls in the Market. But I wanted to grab one of each and go to town. They all sounded really good. I ended up going with their special, a Hokkaido Uni Onigiri with salmon roe and shiso leaf. It just sounded so good. And it was good! Awesome, white sticky rice Ocean umami to the max with the uni. Fun, salty pops of flavor from the roe. And the slightly minty herbaceous from the shiso. This thing was decadent. Such a delight. Overall, I loved this place, and with how easy it is to grab and go with their normal menu, I see myself coming back here often. Thanks, Uni. See you soon!

    Brittany N.

Pros: Location can't be beat. In the middle of a very busy food hall in the middle of the best food neighborhood in Orlando. Service was great. It's the same folks that run Sorekara, which has the best service in Orlando, so you know the people are gonna be super friendly. Onigiri like I've never seen in this country. Tasted like they were handmade for us in Japan. Plenty of flavorful filling and perfectly cooked rice. Very good stuff. Cons: Not a single con. You have to wait in line about 20 minutes before they open, but that's not surprising given the quality of food. Tips: Splurge for whatever specials they have. The uni onigiri we got was very indulgent. Worth every penny.

    Victoria S.

Tried their curry hashbrown and it was exactly so, it tasted like a McDonald's hashbrown with curry seasoning on it. It was $4 which I felt was pricey for what you were getting, McDonald's charges just about the same which is also overpriced. The quality was okay, they fried it fresh but I can't say it was an item I'd come back for. I did like the stickers with the shop logo and bought myself one! Maybe I'll give another onigiri a try next time!

    Gabrilla C.

First time at mills market, I've always wanted to try Uni and this was one of the perfect opportunities. There was a line but it moved pretty quick. I really like that they have all the different flavors on display. The cashier was super nice and friendly, ans you can see everyone making the uni fresh on the spot. I got the spicy tuna and the fried chicken and both were really good and flavorful., I would come again.

It's a small lot and you do have to pay to park however, Tori Tori will validate parking for a few hours, which is nice. They do have a wait staff that brings food to your table, but everything is self serve. You have to go up to the bar to order anything you want and get the check. All of the food is tapas style. We ordered quite a bit, including chicken meatballs, garlic fried rice, avocado, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, Korean fried chicken and the Wagyu dumplings. The standouts were the mushrooms and the brussel sprouts both of which were very savory and the brussel sprouts also had a little bit of sweetness. Overall, the food is good, but for a Michelin restaurant, I was pretty disappointed. I don't think it lives up to the hype. The food is just okay and personally, I think there's better tapas in Orlando, such as Bulla.

This time I went with my husband and we ordered a few small plates and an espresso martini. The espresso martini was pretty standard, but we've definitely had better. The shishito peppers were okay, but I feel like I've gotten more in the past with an order. The karaage was highly disappointing, the sauce was overwhelming and made the fried chicken coating slightly soggy. I think a dry seasoning would've paired better. The beef cheek had nice presentation, but didn't really impress with the flavor; there's better places for yakitori. The otoro we got was decent. The ribs were my favorite of the night with good sauce and they fell off the bone. And then my real favorite of the night was the ube cheesecake, so delicious and flavorful! The service was great and the server was helpful in bringing us a happy hour menu after we asked. Interior was dark and had good vibes for a date night.

Of the zensai (appetizers), I've tried the Tatsuta-Age, which was pretty tasty. Hot and crispy with good flavor. The udon is also top notch. They make it in house. Perfect chewy texture, what Taiwanese would call "QQ" I realized after my second visit that I still have not tried an udon with hot broth. I've tried the Spicy Miso Tan-Tan Udon, which was quite tasty, although a little on the richer/heavier side. I have also tried the Mentaiko Tsukimi Udon which was refreshing in the cold broth. I paired it with an add-on of sliced beef, which was delicious, they serve it on the side so you can add to whatever dish on your own. What I wouldn't recommend... The Viet Coffee with sesame foam and crushed sesame seeds was hard to drink. I loved the initial flavors but the foam got a little greasy and clumpy when mixed with the crushed sesame seeds, particularly toward the second half of the coffee. I wouldn't order it again. I would be interested to see any updates they've made recently but with so many new restaurants on Mills, I may choose those first.

Sushi Tomi is one of the original secret Asian American staples of Orlando that opened in 2013 back when Orlando was known as Mickey Mouse's backyard. It's decently priced, albeit far, and provides a nice sense of comfort. We went on a week night and they were still super busy. Located closer to East Colonial area, it's at 8463 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32819. Their claim to fame are their bento boxes and different lunch and dinner sets, which is to say you will leave full with a balanced meal. I won't lie, I have been wanting to go for the longest time. I felt like some kid pressing his face up against a window, just watching everyone go and enjoy their meal. So this was really great for me, personally. I got their dinner tempura and sushi set. The set came with miso soup and salad as well as a variety of meats and veggies that had been tempura coated and fried with a side of rice. I also ordered a sparkling jelly sake drink, a tamago nigiri and eel nigiri. My overall portion costed about $45 without tip. The set gets a 8.5/10 rating from me. I kinda wish I just went with the tempura set instead of trying to have the best of both worlds. Not that the sushi was bad or anything, but the tempura was really the star of the show. It was so fresh and crispy and light and amazing with the sauce they served it with. The sushi was fine and well made, I just had heart eyes for the tempura. The tamale nigiri and the eel nigiri was good, but not the best I have ever had. They had other things on their menu, but I really recommend going here for Japanese basic meals or comfort meals. I think it's not dazzling, but provides you with a sense of comfort. Not to mention the service was amazing, and it truly was authentic and not gentrified. My overall rating is 9/10 for the whole experience. I will be back whenever I am in the area.
