Delicious!!! I tried unigirl last night for the first time and was very impressed. Everything is already premade and ready to go so it was very quick to order, eat, and go on about my evening. I ordered the miso salmon and the sea bream and both were delicious. I think 2-3 unigiri is the best portion size for a dinner depending on how hungry you are. Both were very flavorful and filling and I'm excited to go back and try other flavors! Only downside is they close so early on the weekdays. However I probably wouldn't choose here again bc the eating experience was so messy that it was kind of uncomfortable to eat in my opinion. The rice and filling kept spilling everywhere even while trying to be careful. I think to be a good onigiri it should be extremely compacted to keep neat and be simple to eat. Popped in here on Friday afternoon, We ordered the Uni onigiri $25, chicken onigiri, and salmon onigiri, these around 4-6$ something like that. I really enjoyed the uni onigiri, all the toppings on top were delightful. The salmon one was also delicious. I liked the chicken one because of the spicy mayo sauce on top. Michelin guide said this was a Bib Gourmet location. Located inside Mills Market the parking can be a challenge but behind and sometimes on Colonial spots are available. A walk up counter with a view to the crew cranking out rice with yummy surprises inside. I ordered up salmon, shrimp and tuna/mayo. Salmon was ok. Not my favorite of the three but still ok. The tuna/mayo was pretty good. The slight sriracha bite was just right. The shrimp one was my favorite. Didn't taste "fishy" at all. We also had the curry hash brown. Very good. I would say the highlight. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and patient as it was my first visit. Not a bad value either. Put the receipt in photos so you could see what we ordered. I tried the unagi (eel) and I really liked it. It gives me spam musubi vibes without the spam but with the seaweed and rice. It's a good size and portable. My absolute favorite Asian spot in Orlando that's not sushi. So affordable and so tasty. My favorite is the tuna one. The salmon one was okay too. I've also had the uni and it was so good. Very creamy. The hashbrowns here are a must. Has a really great spicy salty curry type seasoning on it. All the food tastes so fresh even though it's "sitting out". Service is super nice too. Only thing I wish was the seating area in the place to be a little more kept up and cleaner. The floor is so sticky. Also the rice kind of falls apart so I wish they gave like a small plate or bowl and chopsticks. Just a thought. read more

Orlando-Mills Market~ We've been wanting to try the Onigiri at Unigiri for quite sometime. The gal at the front counter was extremely helpful and explained all of the different flavors so we could choose wisely. Unfortunately this is probably the most disappointing Onigiri we've ever had. We ordered 4 different ones to try. Tuna, Beef, Shrimp, and Salmon. ALL 4 had very little to no filling whatsoever. All rice and nothing else. I only bothered to take a picture of the tuna and mayo one. They were so disappointing. We just dug out what little meat we could find and tossed everything else in the garbage. I am completely shocked because I thought this place was recommended as a possible Michelin star kind of establishment. Not exactly sure what all these wonderful reviews are talking about. I had to do an up close picture so you could actually SEE the tiny bits of tuna. I took an after shot too, so you could see what was left when we ate the little bits of tuna. I even highlighted and circled the little bits of tuna. The beef tasted pretty good for what little you could find. (You'll see my pictures.) The shrimp tempura was delicious, but only had two little pieces of shrimp. The salmon Onigiri was the exact same meat as the tuna. We tried a sandwich from one of the other vendors and it was delicious. We left hungry and went across the street to have ice cream! Overall, it was quite the disappointing lunch. We definitely will go back to eat at Saigon Snow, however, because we love Saigon Snow!! read more

A spectacular little kiosk located in an amazing Asian food hall in Orlando. If you come here (or any of the places at this location) good luck finding parking close to the front. The lot they have is small and ruthless with everyone else trying to find spots as well. There is street parking as well but difficult to see what is good and what can get you a ticket if you park in the wrong area. The location itself is amazing and you can see their kiosk by their adorable banner and front counter. My wife and I stood for about fifteen minutes in line to get some of their onigiri. We got a few different ones including the shrimp tempura, tuna mayo and the miso tantan. The rice to meat ratio is spectacular. Every bit is the perfect balance. The shrimp tempura was heavenly and the perfect crunch. The tuna mayo was the right consistency and had a nice seasoning to it as well. The tantan was very interesting and while I loved it, I wouldn't go out of my way to get this one again personally. Prices are reasonable, each item costing about $4-$6 depending on the filling inside. The staff was also very friendly and hard working, you can see them making everything right behind the counter! read more

I would venture to say this is the best stall at Mills market. We came on a Sunday at about noon and this was the only stall that had a line. By the time we left other stalls had lines, but it was clear that this is the most popular. I got in line without even knowing what I wanted to get. This place has all rice balls. They run out of their most popular one, which is the Uni, so if you see Uni, you should get it. The line moves pretty quickly because the rice balls are already made. It's just people deciding which ones they want. I got a miso salmon and a sea bream. For me, 2 to 3 rice balls is all I would need to be full. There is a lot of filling in it. I loved the sea bream, the seasoning in the rice was absolutely delicious. The miso salmon was pretty good, but it was missing the seasoning so in contrast, I would've liked two sea breams. This is such a simple concept, but executed so well. I would highly recommend checking it out if you're in Mills market. It's also easy to grab and go so you weren't stuck trying to find a table since you can eat it just standing. read more

I have to be honest and say that I usually always have the same problem with onigiri because I never think there's enough filling and there's always way too much rice, and this place is no exception. I got the TRUFFLE SEA BREAM and for $8, it felt like a huge rip off. Mostly rice, and maybe one tablespoon's worth of truffle sea bream. I could taste the truffle, so at least it had that going for it, but the value was not adding up, even considering the presence of truffle. The rice wasn't exactly flavorful either, despite them "seasoning" it. I also don't think they have soy sauce, which would've helped. Or maybe I just didn't see it. I don't know if the other flavors were cheaper or had more filling, but this was hugely disappointing. It felt like they're coasting off of hype, marketing, and cute merch. If only they put that effort into increasing the value in the actual food. They don't seem to have any issues with people lining up though, so what do I know. Also, lines move ridiculously slow when the onigiris seem to be ready to go right by the register. It was maddening. P.S. for anyone who wants to try the uni onigiri, it doesn't say anywhere in print, but the cashier told me it was $25 and would have to be made fresh. $25 sounded outrageous because we're talking about small onigiri, especially depending on how little they put inside. We've been wanting to try Unigirl of awhile now and try to hit their soft openings. Finally was able to snag some on a Thursday afternoon, they seemed to make many different varieties when we visited. We tried the fried chicken, $4.50 and the spicy garlic crab, $6.50. Of the two I think the fried chicken was better, although I wasn't too impressed with either of these. I think they are a little pricey for what you get and I don't think the rice tasted that special. Service was quick and they helped us pick our choices. I don't think I'd try it again but it was nice to give it a shot. read more

This place has been on my list for a while now, and it jumped to the top of the best after I experienced the best restaurant in town, Sorekara. Sister restaurants, along with the best noodles in town, Zaru. Not only related to greatness, but internationally recognized now on the Michelin Guide. I had to come check it out. This place takes up a really gorgeous piece of real estate in the Mills Market. Natural looking wooden counters, curtains reminiscent of a Japanese izakaya, just a cool looking spot. In the hour we waited for them to open, the team working hard the whole time, making their signature onigiri. Service was dynamite. Very nice people, many of whom I recognized from Sorekara. Huge smiles on their face, friendly, warm service. The best service in town. As for the food, we only got to try a couple of things, because we tried things from other stalls in the Market. But I wanted to grab one of each and go to town. They all sounded really good. I ended up going with their special, a Hokkaido Uni Onigiri with salmon roe and shiso leaf. It just sounded so good. And it was good! Awesome, white sticky rice Ocean umami to the max with the uni. Fun, salty pops of flavor from the roe. And the slightly minty herbaceous from the shiso. This thing was decadent. Pros: Location can't be beat. In the middle of a very busy food hall in the middle of the best food neighborhood in Orlando. Service was great. It's the same folks that run Sorekara, which has the best service in Orlando, so you know the people are gonna be super friendly. Onigiri like I've never seen in this country. Tasted like they were handmade for us in Japan. Plenty of flavorful filling and perfectly cooked rice. Very good stuff. Cons: Not a single con. You have to wait in line about 20 minutes before they open, but that's not surprising given the quality of food. Tips: Splurge for whatever specials they have. It was $4 which I felt was pricey for what you were getting, McDonald's charges just about the same which is also overpriced. Onigiri is one of my favorite foods and I was HYPED to finally get a spot in Orlando that sells it (though I have sometimes found it frozen at the iFresh market and Kadence used to carry it when they were located at East End Market!). It took me a long time to make it over here because my first time at Mill's Market was just an ok experience and that day Unigirl was sold out. Orlando has such an amazing array of Asian delicacies with so many authentic spots to choose from, it can be really hard to justify waiting in line for something that is overhyped and overpriced. My fav spots are easy to get into, consistent with their quality and flavor, and quick. I called ahead to make sure they weren't sold out, which it seems that at 4pm on a Wednesday they are fully stocked. It was easy to park, get inside, and order. The customer service was not great and I felt unwelcome. I told them it was my first time, but I wasn't given any explanation on items or suggestions of what to try. Not sure why I even tipped someone who just handed me bags of prepackaged food with a Gen Z death stare. Either way, I was starving and this is one of my favorite foods so it's going to be great! It was just ok. Because they're premade and bagged when hot, they are a bit moist. I think I prefer cold onigiri with raw fish, whereas these are hot with cooked fish. I tried the tuna mayo, miso salmon, and a spicy fish roe that had a distinct name. All were good but not great, and make me think it would probably be best to just make my own onigiri at home. It's a good option for a quick meal on the go, but not something I would go out of my way for again. The market itself has lots of interesting vendors and a very cute atmosphere that is fun to visit. read more

Hokkaido uni onigiri was probably one of the best things I've eaten all year. The uni and salmon roe were really fresh. They give you about 3 seaweed sheets and some chopsticks to enjoy. The line was really long on the weekends. I would recommend trying to get here early in the day to get the premium items as some do sell out quickly. Located inside the Mills market. This restaurant was fully staffed with about 6 workers on the weekend making some fresh onigiris. The food came out fresh and delicious. read more

After saving Mills Market on my list of places to try, I explored the different booths they had inside, and UniGirl was my number one spot to get. They open a little later than the market does, but it was worth the wait. I'm a massive lover of onigiri and usually make them myself since there isn't a place near me that sells them in Jacksonville. I hopped in line a few minutes before they opened since the line was getting long. I decided to get two to try and got the shrimp and chicken. They were delicious! Everything I hoped and dreamed of!!
