TLDR: Manager Edgar lied, got greedy lost his salesman a sale. Said we wasted his time. Completely feel for the salesman, the salesman was kind, professional and knowledgable. When negotiating a price point we wanted to see the the payment with no money down to determine what amount would benifit us as a family. The salesman called his manager who asked us again what we wanted to put down we told him as well we would like to see the monthly payment with no payment down to determine if it was even worth putting money down looking at another vehicle, consider leasing, ect. Edgar informed us he couldnt even give us a monthly price unless we could put 4k down but he thinks he could help us out and only take a 3k down payment. We informed him we just want to see the price so we could decide ourself. Edgar informed us the bank wouldnt even let give us a price without at least 3k down. We told him we appreciated the effort but we would look at another dealership since we had offers with no money down. To which Edgar said, "oh wait let me see what i can do i think i can make it work". Our family had a weird feeling about the manager being less than honest with us about requiring a down payment and informed the salesman and the manager we appreciated their help but will be leaving. When asking for our keys and registration the manager Edgar went out of his way to express his emotions by stating and I quote "so you're just going to waste my time like that" I sarcastically replied "excuse me? I'm sorry, I wasted YOUR time?" I believe he caught himself after saying what he said and tried to make it seem like he was standing up for his salesman's time. Very unprofessional asked to speak with another manager but this manager would not leave me alone after me informing "i do not wish to speak with you anymore" it appeared to piss him off even more and i had to ask 2 more times "i do not wish to speak to you anymore" before he stormed off and told the salesman to "get his stuff and get him out of here". I spoke to another manager who I made sure to inform that the salesman did a great job and it was not his fault for this sale falling through. He also heard the commotion from the previous manager's rant and appologized. Will definitely call back Monday to let the store owner know that if that's his reaction to someone politely requesting to shop around he should be aware. The customer service is appalling. I called for a simple matter, and the person who answered the phone was not only completely unhelpful, she was also very rude. I patiently explained again, and she became confrontational, and actually hung up on me. It wasn't an accident, either, because she told me was doing it. When I called back, a different person answered, and I asked to speak to a manager. They then gave me the run-around, connecting me through seven different people over a period of eleven and a half minutes before finally connecting me to a manager. Each time a different person picked up, I simply explained that I was calling to speak to a manager. The manager who took my call was helpful, and he apologized for the poor service. He then helped me with my simple matter. Even though the manager seemed professional enough, I will avoid doing any future business with Unicars Honda whatsoever. I own three Hondas, including the one I just bought, and I am sure I will do more business with Honda in the future; but from now on, I will drive a bit farther to use a different dealership. read more

I started off with a pretty good texting conversation with a salesman at this dealership. We came to a price agreement, he provided a broken down out-the-door total price and we were basically good to go. All I had to do was drive out to preview and test drive the car and provide them a check. Everything was going so well, I couldn't believe the many negative Yelp reviews here. WELL, BELIEVE THEM. THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD EXPERIENCE. Believe it when you read they hold your driver's license hostage so you can't leave. Believe it when they want your social security number and other personal information to run a credit check, even though you're providing your own funding.  My initial text message to the salesman was if the car was still available and as to the overall condition of the vehicle. I was told it was in EXCELLENT condition with NO dings or scrapes. Later in the day, the salesman notified me of a bullet shaped ding which was discovered while washing the car. They said they could repair it for less than $100 (contrary to two bids I got for $500-$600). I agreed to pay the extra "$100" myself since they had accepted my offer and I believed I was getting a good deal. So, we were all set. Full agreement. As I started the 2 hour drive out there, the salesman texted and said he had a personal emergency and that his associate would help me. He described his emergency and it sounded bad, so ok no problem, understandable. However, when I arrived to the dealership (within the window I gave him), his associate was too busy to talk to me or show me the car. What?!  In good hands?!  She had ZERO intetest in talking to me and pushed me off on a young guy, who was rather green, but very nice and helpful. As we preceeded to view the car ..... DRUMROLL PLEASE ...... I couldn't believe my eyes. Dings, scratches and scrapes all around the car, maybe 10 or so, including some long significant scratches. Furthermore, a lot of the rubber was discolored, weathered and even peeling from the hot desert sun. Lastly, there were tears to the leather interior. Ive included 3 sample photos in case someone thinks Im exaggerating. I loved this car. I wanted this car. I drove 2 hours to test drive it. But I was appalled at the bad cosmetic condition and the MISREPRESENTATION. They kept me hostage for TWO HOURS. The first hour we were trying to work something out. The manager said "I wont discount this car another penny", to which I replied, "I didnt ask you too!" Their solution was for me to pay a percentage of repairs and they would do "the best they could" (very unspecific). I tried talking to them about an extended warranty, thinking if they gave me a deal on that, maybe I could live with some of the dings and scrapes. I waited another hour with no answer. No one with knowledge was available. By 2 hours time I was steaming mad and finally left. In conclusion, we struck a deal before I got there, the car was rough and misrepresented, I wasted 6 hours of my day and $50 in gas. Believe the negative reviews. I got a car from Unicarshonda on 8/23/21 , I realized with more inspection the car had had lot of defects , tires were worn out , the windshield glass had a crack the sunroof squeaked when opened and while it closed it sounded like broken glass. Back cameras were pushed in. I didn't receive a copy of contract the day of my purchase nor a receipt of the 10,000 down payment . I returned the car the next day 8/24/21. I was not happy with interest rate of 13 % not my payment of 637 . The car has 74,000 miles and they over charged me. The person I spoke to GM didn't want to negotiate on 8/24/21. He threatened my wife and I to make the vehicle as a REP even tho it was return the next day in the exact conditions and miles. They not want to return my down payment. I asked them who was financing me and they kept telling me they couldn't tell me and got different company names .They even gave me the car with no gas I gave it back full tank. Now they are forcing me to get another vehicle with them , I'm not happy and all we want is your money back and leave all this behind.. read more

the rubber seal on my drivers door was coming off. service rep told me that they had to order the part. 2 weeks later I brought my car in to have the rubber sea replaced. waited 45 minutes. I opened the driver door and the rubber seal was not repaired as the seal was still coming apart from the door. No new part, no repair. went back in and talked with a different rep. he came out and looked at the door. He then told me that they changed the seal on the right and rear passenger doors so I go around the car, open both doors and what do I see? nothing had been done! the rep then claimed that he never said that the passenger door seals had been changed. really shady! when I asked him just exactly what they did do he pointed to the drivers rear door and said that they had changed that seal. At that point I took my car key from him and left. will never do business with this dealership again! read more

I let the salesperson know that I would not be making a purchase that day as I was researching hybrids and simply wanted to take a test drive. First, I was told they did not have any on the lot. Not true, there were quite a few. The salesperson reluctantly got the keys and I test drove it. He barely spoke to me, offered no insight or incentive and once done, abandoned me in the parking lot. It was clear from the moment I said I would not be purchasing that day that he decided there would be absolutely no customer service extended for me. It's amazing when you go in to buy a car they my wait on you hand and foot. Once they have your money secure, they don't care about you. I just called because I took my car for an oil change during my break. I had to get back to work so I left my car. They said they would call me when ready. I never got a call. I called because I need my car. Service is closed and sales managers said they have no way to contact the service manager. I have no transportation until tomorrow. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE. I had been looking at a Civic Hatchback 2019. I went in a week prior to look at it in person and for a test drive. I went in the following week wanting to purchase it. They did not want me to purchase this car but rather older inventory. They tried to show me a 2018 accord and when I went out to see what was taking so long they were trying to jump it. Wasting my time and theirs. They also showed me a 2018 Civic Hatchback in Red that I clearly didn't want. They said I had to put an outrageous amount down to purchase the 2019. So I walked away. A couple weeks later, I went to Honda of the Desert and purchased the car I WANTED. It was such a great experience. I hope no one has to go through this it was such a waste of time. Went into service for a simple oil change and a new battery. Duration of service was about 1 1/2 hours which is expected. After picking up the vehicle, drove about 3 miles down the street, stopped and attempted to turn on the vehicle to no power. Turns out the service tech decided to not connect the wires correctly which resulted in the vehicle being left stranded even with a new battery. After checking under the hood, multiple oil spills were found in the engine bay. When returning to dealership, an apologize was issued but in a very aggressive matter which is unacceptable since their sloppy work caused a loss of time and having to return again to dealership. Overall job was very sloppy and unacceptable for the reputation they claim. read more

Horrible service DO NOT WORK WITH THE GINGER guy my wife and i was in unicar honda twice!! first experience i was approved for a 2018 car listed at $17000 with $1000 down with over 40,000 miles. but no one could explain why it had such high mileage then im told the payments will be $550 a month. Go back tonight to look at a 2012 car with over 100,000 miles check engine light on that no one could explain scratches all over the car exhaust leak and idle shaking and told im not approved because its a older car false i wasn't approved because there was something wrong with the car that they didn't want to disclose. So i ask about the car i was previously approved for come to find out it was a used rental car which explains the high milage and the new down payment price was 8,000 half the value of the car. I highly recommend avoiding this place someone's always having to go ask someone else for the answer to the questions you ask and are way to eager to get you inside to do paperwork before you test drive or inspect the car. Once we checked the car out and finally sat down to talk numbers, I did notice the sales man wasn't really speaking, like he almost HAD to speak to us. Later on the vehicle did not accommodate with what I wanted for my monthly payments since, it was a used car. So instead they offered me a "better" or "more convient deal" since I was a first time buyer. The deal was to lease a car and my options were the accord/ civic. And I was feeling pretty sure about it. They convinced me to lease and take home a 2020 Red Honda Civic Sport. First, they completely rushed the process to get us out immediately since it was after closing time. So I allowed them to close the deal with my exact monthly payments. That is the whole reason why I even signed those papers to begin with. I left happy thinking I just signed my new car. - [ ] A week later excalty, they called me in & had informed me over the phone that the reason for the visit was an issue with my social & i had to bring it. I showed up to find out the the contract didn't go through. So why not be honest for the visit instead of lie? They had called me in because the contract didn't go through. Due to my co-signers credit. Not only that but they said to me; "We need $3,000 MORE" "Or we have to take the car away." - [ ] So why would they sign a contract and close a deal then, a week later inform you that it did not go through? That was not my problem nor, was I going to give them $3,000 MORE. So I thought about it & decided to give the car back & demanded my $4,000 down payment back. Then they hit me with, "No that's not an option." "We can't do that for you." & I questioned why. They were just threatening me earlier, that if I did not give more money down they were going to take the car away. They did not let me get my down payment back, even if it was my consumer RIGHT to return the car within the first 30 days of the purchase. - [ ] Instead they were going to look into trying with the banks again to see and do everything in their power so that I did not return the vehicle. - [ ] Because keep in mind. Once a vehicle drives off that lot, they lose value. They lose value with the added miles. They lose value because that car will be considered a "USED" car. That's why they did NOT want the car back. But I knew I did not want to do business with them. They were rude, dishonest & manipulators. Just to gain another sale. - [ ] They did not contact me until 2 weeks later. They said they would in 4 days. And I believe they couldn't get the deal to close so I received a phone call that they needed the car back & I was happy to return it. I got a great APR, great price on the car and incentives, and they even threw in a free scotch guard service! I am paying less then I thought I would have with having done research on the car pricing as well as my expected APR. We couldn't be happier. John, our finance guy was also very nice and great to work with and gave us a great deal on our warranty. I didn't check yelp reviews before coming, but I am really surprised with all the negatives. I visited this location over the 4th of July weekend due to an unfortunate circumstance. I had been having issues with my Honda's anti-theft system and had been utilizing the manual anti-theft method to start my vehicle for a couple weeks. My 2 yr old daughter and I were visiting my parents in the area for the holiday and we found ourselves stranded when my lil trick was no longer working to start my vehicle. I reluctantly had triple AAA tow my car to Unicars Honda to finally uncover what was the matter with my car. Anthony was my service advisor and was professional from the very beginning. He even had the guy that would be servicing my car come to the desk so I can explain exactly what my issues were. They promised a call back of 11am and they followed through with a prompt phone call and explained it was after market alarm that tripping my system and cutting power to my starter. They did the work and my car was finally back in working order. The mechanic that serviced my car was Jesus and seemed to know what he was doing. Very knowledgeable. I was really expecting a possible nightmare as I've never had good experiences at any car dealer service centers where I live (Fontana/Riverside area). Unicars Honda was a pleasant surprise. I did pay $280 but I think it would have been much more somewhere else with someone that didn't know exactly what the issue was. I'm glad now that I have piece of mind that car will be working again especially since I have my daughter with me most of the time. My fiancé and I have been discussing getting a new vehicle and based on my experience here I will seriously consider a purchase from here. read more

This is a follow up from a previous review. My 2016 Honda Accord was previously diagnosed with a rear seal transmission leak. This was discovered after two previous leaks in the surrounding location. Since my car was out of warranty I was told the cost would be $1300. After expressing my displeasure of the diagnosis/treatment I was contacted by the Service Manager, Carl Coggins. He requested me to come in a discuss the diagnosis. After meeting with Carl it was determined that Honda would repair my car for no charge. Needless to say I was extremely happy with this decision; I felt that Unicars Honda as well as Service Manager Carl Coggins went "above and beyond" to assure quality customer service.
