An older man started soaking off my nails, and everything was going well up until he starts putting on the tips and then he asked what shape I like, I told him long tapered coffin.... Let's just say my nails are square round, even after asking him to fix them. I'm part of the LGBTQ community and when he asked for the design I wanted, I requested all nude except for the ring finger on each hand. I wanted a rainbow and I even had a reference. Him and the other woman started talking in their language and he was shaking his head. I then asked for pink and white ombré but he said he don't do that. I end up, leaving with pink nails that are shaped awfully and way too short from my liking. When I got in my car, I was in tears. I want my money back. In the over 20 years that I've been getting my nails done. Never had I had a set looks so horrible. I want my money back. I need a manager to reach out as soon as possible, please. This place seems like it would be fine for a regular mani or even gel, but if you have long nails you care about I'd advise against going here. I've gotten powder dip probably 100 times and I've never had this stressful of an experience. The technician had the electric filling tool running so fast it burnt me multiple times. When I asked her to lower the speed she ignored me. All of my nails are grown out long and natural, but one broke off a month or so ago and I have been growing it out ever since so I get a tip put on. When I asked her to put on a tip she clipped my nail all the way down without asking, so now I'm back to square one growing back out my nail - really frustrating :/ and after all that, my nails are not even filed evenly. I made an appointment to get a full set of acrylics. I was sitting in the salon for almost two hours. I didn't have to soak off any previous nails. I didn't even have nail polish on. No reason at all to have to sit there for such a long time for a simple set of white tip acrylics. During all that time, they did nothing for my cuticles, except make them BLEED from the drill that they didn't need to use on my actual nails. As three of my nail beds are bleeding, I'm left at my table for a walk-in pedicure. (So don't bother making appointments.) Finally I get handed off to another lady who proceeds to douse my bleeding hands in alcohol based solutions, finishing up by putting on my nails CROOKED, and leaving the skin around my nails covered in acrylic. As soon as I walk in, I'm getting stared down by the owner, maybe she was having a bad day or maybe because i wasn't dressed up like the rest in the shop. She asks what they can do for me and I ask for an acrylic nail take off. She said, "you don't want to do gel?". I politely said "no, thanks" and she told me to take a seat at an empty technician table. I took a seat and assumed someone would be with me shortly. While waiting, another client comes in. She asks what can they do for her and she says a mani. Two minutes pass and a different tech asks if I want to do a gel manicure after the nail take off. I politely say no again and that I will be back for a shellac man, because I have an appointment to get to and do not have time for a manicure at this moment. I kid you not, she walks away and quietly begins working on the new persons manicure with NO appointment (a walk in, just like me). I go up to the front paper clipboard that every guest has to sign in to when they walk in, just to see if I was going nuts-O. But nope, they indeed serviced the woman who was listed after me first. I completely understand that they're gonna make more money with a mani, but at least have the decency to respect someone's time. If i had the time I would have done a shellac mani, but I didn't and they did not care at all. Finally after waiting, a DIFFERENT nail technician comes and begins to do the takeoff. She handled my hands roughly and was cutting down to my actual real nail not when the acrylic and the nail stop. It was all around bad from the customer service to the actual nail service. I went in to get my acrylics filled but it was hurting so bad and she was doing it a weird way that I asked to completely just removed them. I get mani/pedis here on a regular basis. The women who work here are great! They're super friendly, and I'm always satisfied with their work. If you're not happy, they'll correct it free of charge. The salon is always clean and sanitary from what I've seen. They play new/good movies, and the Broncos game was on today, so I guess they have cable too. The magazine collection is also good. One time I saw a couple getting a pedicure together and they had brought a bottle of wine with them - it was cute and it seems like Uni Nails was accommodating. Pricing is fair & I like that they give you free bottle of water. Cons: 1. If you walk in and it looks like they're super busy, turn away (unless you have extra time on your hands). They'll tell you it will only be 5-10 mins, but that's rarely true. 2. The quality of service depends on how busy they are at the time. 3. They don't have a student discount anymore. Really good work here. I had a meeting nearby and then was hopping on a plane for a wedding. I called and asked to be the first one in the next day. No problem! They were a little late to open the shop but they got me going really fast. I told them when I had to be out and they got me out on time. They do upsell you... I probably didn't need to pay for all of what I was paying for but it was a nice pampering. Here's the biggest thing... the mani lasted longer than any other mani I've had. Even my husband noticed and recommended that I go back to them (a bit far for me for a regular thing). It lasted impressively long for a non-shellac mani. This is an update on my review from 9/2013 here. Quality was so bad in my last visit I am going to find another nail place even though I've been going to this one for 2 years. It was not busy when I came but still took 2 hrs for a mani/pedi, mostly because they left me sitting in the pedi chair before they started until the water was cold. The gal cut the side of my big toenail way too close. It has gotten more painful and today my toe is bright red and hurts more. I'm worried it may be getting infected! My manicure polish was not applied evenly. Since I was running out of time I was only able to sit with my nails drying for about 7 minutes which is enough for high quality polish. This is not high quality polish though and when I reached into my purse to pay it smudged really bad. They would not honor my student discount or this little business card thing they once gave me that gave me a few dollars off. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it though. I paid, I tipped cash and left with my hurt toe and embarrassing mani. Customer service was very cold the whole time. read more

I've been going to Uni for over a year now, and I love it! They always do a great job on my nails, and it always lasts at least 3-4 weeks. I had one before I left to study abroad, and it lasted for 10 weeks! I've also had a couple great pedicures and one that chipped within an hour, but that's the hazard with regular nail polish I guess. The place is always clean, and they have movies playing in the big screen. It's also cheap ($25 for a gel mani), and they give discounts if you pay cash or you are a DU student. If you go during DU's school year be aware that it gets super busy around 4, when most DU students get out of class. You can try making an appointment, but just know that when you come in at that time all the technicians will likely be busy. If you want to avoid that go earlier in the day or on the weekends. read more

I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot since I was just filling time before I dropped my daughter off at the airport and it was in the area. I had limited time so I told the woman in charge that I wanted a pedicure. She heard me talk about a manicure and pedicure and said she would do both at the same time if I wanted. I reluctantly agreed and thought what the heck and went for it as did my friend. My daughter was the smart one and only had a manicure. We were the only 3 women in the entire place when I arrived but shortly after, several more women arrived. I had two women working on my manicure and pedicure but the one in charge immediately left my manicure to work on these new clients. I thought I would give her the benefit of the doubt and thought she'd return to work on my nails since she said she would do both simultaneously but that never happened. I started panicking and had to keep checking the time because I knew there was no way I would finish on time. I had to change the types of services half way through and I couldn't relax and enjoy any of it. The young girl working on my pedicure was nice but didn't speak any English and I couldn't communicate with her. The lady in charge seemed perturbed with me but I felt like I was more than nice about the entire thing seeing as she made a promise she couldn't keep. The manicure and pedicure were just ok. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would just have gotten a pedicure. Would I come back here? Probably not. I feel bad writing an unfavorable review but I spent a lot of money on a service that was at best mediocre. And this is the first 3 star review I've ever written. read more

Pretty awesome pedicure. Very papmpering with the massage chair and sugar scrub included. As well as pots of hot towels. The manicure felt like little butterflies. Chick flicks on the tele. Lots of current magazines. Very sanitary...took tools out of autoclave and put them back after each use. All for 35 buckaroos. Better than the more expensive mani pedis I've gotten here in Denver.
