Needed a moderately priced (decent quality material) business suit. Searched Yelp in the area and was ultimately VERY happy to find Uniformal. Behrooz was great. Smart, knows the business. Very patient. He doesn't sell, he listens. Respectful of my opinions on what suits me, but made addtional suggestions regarding fit and style which helped greatly in achieving the look appropriate to the purpose. I'm glad I called first. I asked if they had any art deco style wide neckties like the 1930's style. He told me that I need to come in to look and would not respond to my question. I asked if he has anything that might fit that description before making the 30 minute drive. Then he told me that I need to come into the store or go to another store. I don't know much about renting tuxedos, but I do know that Behrooz knows what he's talking about! My husband, his brother and father all rented tuxedos from UniFormal for our wedding reception and they looked dashing! Behrooz was very easy to work with, meet with and make decisions with. There are so many different types of tux's you could rent from him and everything we got was great. On the initial consultation, Behrooz sets you up with his look books and you are able to see what types of tux's you can rent. There are so many varieties and each has a breakdown of what body type they are intended for and also what look it will give you. In addition to this book, Behrooz will give you his personal opinions on what will suit you best as well (no pun intended!). He gave us very clear instructions on the process and made sure that both my husband and I were points of contact in the event that he couldn't reach one of us. My father-in-law and brother-in-law live on the East Coast and were provided an email and form with specific instructions on how to measure and they were able to send those directly. My husband was able to pick up the tux's well before our wedding day and address any issues that arose. He's very tall and his sleeve length was short but easily corrected. The drop off to return the tux's was also smooth. Behrooz was willing to either meet with us earlier or let someone else drop it off on our behalf. I was looking for a tuxedo to rent for my son to attend his senior Prom. To a high school graduate, the senior prom is as important as a wedding. I want my son to look his absolute best. Being a loving dad and a tech savvy guy, I went online to do some research to find the best place to get a high-end tuxedo without emptying my retirement account! My research shows that chains like Men's Wearhouse & Selix have poor service, high price and bad customers reviews. In contrast, UniFormal in Berkeley was rated 5-Star in all customer reviews. If a shop is always rated the best by its customers, the shop owner must be doing something right. I therefore chose it over other tuxedo stores that were closer to my home. What a great decision I made! It turned out that my son, my wife and I were all FULLY satisfied with the tuxedo, the service and the price. You do not need to go to three different stores and haggle with the salesman in order to get the best price. The owner at Uniformal will give you the best price! Isn't that nice? The owner Behrooz gave valuable professional advice, helping my son picked a tuxedo that wowed his classmates and prom date. Behrooz always considered things in customer's interest, not his. Besides the tuxedo rental, my son wanted to buy a blazer to wear for his future college days. Behrooz suggested my son buy a casual blazer elsewhere instead of a formal blazer from him because casual blazer goes better with jeans! Behrooz provided unparalleled service, bending over backward to accommodate every request we made. For example, he offered me $11 for having to make a separate trip to have my son's measurements taken. When I wanted to return the tuxedo rental after the prom, he went to the shop on a Sunday so that I could return the tuxedo on a weekend instead of having to take time off on a weekday. How can you find excellent service like this elsewhere? I benefited from the reviews posted before me. Long story short, I needed to rent a suit for an event the following evening. Behrooz was very accommodating and was able to get me a suit to wear despite the short notice. All I can say is Behrooz will guarantee your satisfaction and I would recommend him to anyone! read more

The proprietor is very suave and personable and puts you at your ease. He see knowledge-able. Unfortunately the follow through is somewhat lacking. Our clothes came and didn't fit quite right and one was the wrong color. They send out for them and it takes several days to arrive and we didn't have time to wait to redo it. He must have known they weren't right and said very little. It's also quite expensive - $200 for 2 black suits. The hours are not what's on the internet they are shorter. All that said I think if you have time and dispute issues you will be fine. read more

If you are at Berkeley and need a suit, don't waste your time going to the crowded shops at SF. This place is going to fulfill your needs. The owner, Behrooz, is a very friendly gentleman. He will help you to figure out exactly what you need for the price you can afford. I needed a suit for a formal dinner in a short term. Behrooz helped me to choose which one would meet the requirements for the dinner but still be useful for other occasions. Since he didn't have my size on store he made several phone calls to make sure the suite would be here on time. The overall experience was great. UniFormal Tuxedo delivered quality tuxedos, but the service leading up to it was not great. Behrooz is a very polite, knowledgable, kind person. However, he seems a bit disorganized and was not very responsive. He often promised deliverables that were never delivered. We didn't receive a confirmation of our order until nearly a month before the wedding despite having given him all of the information he needed to place the order 2 months prior and requesting this information several times both in person and over the phone/email. The confirmation was missing important details (like the groom's shoe size) and had incorrect information (wrong jacket size for one of the groomsmen). We corrected him on this, but he never corrected the order and the wrong jacket size arrived the day before we were to leave for the wedding. The groom had to go back the next day (when we already had enough things to worry about) to pick up the correct jacket. We were a bit worried because all of our groomsmen were out of town so they only person he could actually measure in-person was the groom. But he provided us with very detailed instructions for getting the groomsmen measured and this was very helpful and worked out ok in the end. Overall, we were pleased with the quality and fit of the tuxedos we received and the price was competitive. However, the service had us upset and worried up until the wedding. read more
