Process was quick and efficient, Rose is very professional and clearly knew what she was doing (I've never done this before). She also asked if I needed this soon and seemed like she could accommodate. Thankfully this was not something I needed right away. I came back to pick up the dress today, and went to try it on, and honestly I was skeptical that alterations were made before I tried it on, the dress looked like all the stitching was original and hadn't been touched. For reference I took in the sides of the bodice and hemmed the bottom. I put on the dress and it fit like a glove and it was the correct length, perfect. Wow! Wow WOW Rose can get any penny I earn the way she ATE THESE PANTS UP OKAY! I was recently a "grooms-woman" in one my best friends' wedding and in true fashion I waited til the last minute to buy my pants, at which point there was only one left in the style and color I needed! That size just so happened to be a size 33W in Men's, as I just so happen to be a very petite size 24W! I had one shop tell me the pants would look completely different if they took them in that much, but AS YOU CAN SEE, that was no challenge for Rose, as she took damn near 10 inches from the waist and inseam of these pants and they STILL look like the exact same style of pants! I had two nice cashmere sweaters (one a vintage item from the 50's) that had moth holes in them. Rose did fantastic repairs that you can't see at all. She even found a few additional holes that we did not find the first time through. She repaired everything and charged me what she quoted before she found additional holes. Took my shorts and a corset in to get tailored. She charged me $80 to take in the shorts at the waist. for this price, I thought she would've done something extraordinary but she just folded my shorts in at the waist and sewed over each fold. the corset rip was taken in but the fabric itself was completely warped. read more

I read the previous reviews and was a little surprised at the bad review. I can only guess that was the miss communication between the married couple and Rosa. Anyway, here's my two cents. I needed two pants hemmed the same day. She took them and said it wouldn't be a problem. I came back at couple hours later and they were done perfect! I've since taken in three other pairs of pants that have been done cheap and done well. I'm very happy she's just down the street from me. Dropped off an item to be fixed and she told me she would call me if she could find the right zipper. I kept calling and being told she would call me back. Finally after 4 months I called her 3 days in a row and she told me to come in person to see if the zipper she found would be ok. It was fine but she told me it would cost 175$ for the repair. I was very hesitant for any seamstress to alter my daughters prom dress. We met with over 5 tailors. My father has been using Con at Rose the Tailor for about a year now, Con formerly worked at Nordstrom as a seamstress. She fixed my fathers leather coat and that's when I was sold. We took my daughters $1000 prom dress into Con and she fixed the train, made the waist tighter and tailored the top to perfection.It took her 3 weeks but she had to take off one layer of lace, one layer of Tiffany beads and one layer of fabric. I am apart of a wedding party and the company we rented our tux through were terrible. Measurements had been given before shipment and a style type was to be slim fitting. The company kept sending me modern fit which was so bad looking and BAGGY. After multiple replacements and a week before the wedding, they finally email me saying they don't do slim fit for my size. I immediately went to Rose and asked if she could take it in a few inches without taking out the stitching. A few days later I returned to pick up my pants early and they looked sooooo much better! I took two dresses in to Rose (Khan) last Saturday to be fitted... one for me (bridesmaid), and one for my six-year-old daughter (flower girl). She told me that since it was near closing time and she had another customer in there, that she would call me on Monday with a quote for both. I left the dresses, expecting to hear from her in a day or two. My bridesmaid dress needed to be hemmed and have the thin shoulder straps (with no beads or other adornment) taken up about an inch on each side. My daughter's flower girl dress was a little loose around the middle, so we thought we'd have it taken in a half in on each side and take the shoulders up a half inch too. Well, I got no call back on Monday or any other time during the week. I called her on Friday morning to ask about the quote and she told me she was busy but would call me later on in the day. Didn't hear back from her. Saturday morning she called me (now a week later), to tell me that the quote to alter both dresses is $225 and that it's been discounted because there are two. I think that's a crazy price. She's not making the dresses, she's hemming one and cutting an inch off the shoulder straps! So I asked her what it would cost if I just left my daughter's dress alone and only had my dress done. Well, she goes on to explain how she discounted the one and that a regular hem on a normal skirt is $30, but this one is big, so should be 3-4 times that price just for the hem and blah, blah. Needless to say, I'm going to pick up my dresses today - a week after bringing them to her, and if she tries to charge me for her time, I'll charge her back for making me waste a week of time before a wedding when I could've already had the dresses brought elsewhere. I'm not pleased, even though I was honestly thrilled to know that there was a local tailor since I live nearby. THUMBS DOWN. Maybe she's great for a simple hem on slacks or something, but her communication has been non-existent and her pricing is way out of line for two simple dresses that aren't embellished or beaded (like I could understand the pricing if it was for a bride dress with sequins, ruching, pearls, beads, etc.) read more

Was done quickly (asked for a turn-around of about 5 days for an event), but giving 3 stars mainly because the back seam seemed just a tad sloppy. Nothing noticeable except on a close inspection. Make sure you're clear on the exact look you're going for, and if possible, take in a 'trial' type of item first before a full alteration. read more

Wow! I am so excited that I have a GENIUS tailor in my neighborhood! I purchased a dress with a matching bolero on the inter web, and when I got it, the bolero was a joke. I tried several other places that wouldn't take the job, because they said that they did alterations, not tailoring, or that they couldn't see me for weeks, and then I brought my dress here. Rose the Tailor did what no other alterations place was willing to even try...shorten the sleeves on a moto-style leather jacket. I took the jacket to multiple places and they took one look and said no. Then I went to Rose the Tailor and she talked me through the options and was honest about the risks of messing with a leather jacket. I told her I was willing to give it a shot, knowing there was a pretty good chance it wouldn't work out. And, of course, she nailed it. She got creative and went well above and beyond (breaking a ton of needles along the way!) to make sure I was happy with the end result. Just took in 5 pairs of jeans and 1 pair of suit pants to have all the same things done...legs a little shorter, a bit tighter in the seat, and around the legs in general. Without even starting anything I was told it would be $397!!!! Around $66 a pair! Considering I got the jeans in a sale, those savings are LONG gone. Not to mention she said it'll take around 10 days. At this point it's too late to turn back but I was kind of caught by surprise, and I really need the work done. The work better be flawless for this price and I'll be sure to update when I collect them. At this point, I cannot recommend this place despite the fact I haven't seen the work yet.
