Randy is the best. Very attentive and an expert in his craft. He made my son's first suit buying experience very personable and memorable as he went through each process step by step. My son was able to get a quality suit that fits him perfectly. I was so fortunate to find this hidden gem. read more

They come up in a search for tuxedo rentals, but they don't actually rent tuxedos. They only sell tuxedos. Also their number in Yelp ((510) 922-9661) is wrong; the correct number is (510) 922-9300. read more

They don't usually work on women's clothes, but were kind enough to help me with a split seam on a pair of pants! So much appreciation for their help and kindness! read more

When I saw that the well-known Men's suit manufacturer I've gone to before now has a fairly low Yelp rating, I searched further on Yelp and noticed that Oxward Way Tailoring's rating was very high so I checked it out. I'm glad I did. I ended up with a new suit that I like quite a bit. Randy took the time -- and used his expertise -- to help me find the right look, and I couldn't be more pleased. The turnaround was very quick as well. I recommend this business for someone looking for outstanding, quality service at a very reasonable price. read more

These men are true craftsmen! I had a pair of heavy carpenter-style work pants that needed to be taken in in the waste (a difficult fabric in a difficult area), and had a short timeline (needed them back in three days!). Being that they were work pants, I wasn't much concerned with the aesthetics of the fix. However, the job is seamless (so to speak), fits comfortably, and I feel proud to wear them now :) Not only did the quality far exceed my needs, but the pants were able to be picked up a day before I needed them by! Thank you so much Randy and crew for such an amazing and difficult fix and for working on a rushed timeline. The shop is filled with elegant mens apparel as well, I highly recommend you go and check their store out for you mens shopping and all tailoring needs! read more

Oxford Way Tailoring - The seam is barely visible above the inside corner of each pocket - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Oakland, California

New to the area, I was in need of a tailor for an upcoming wedding. Randy had open availability during the week and was ready to hem the baggy pant legs of my linen suit. The turnaround time was 3 business days and the pant legs came out way better than when I purchased them. He turned a very baggy look into a modern style. I loved the fact that this was a black owned shop with first class service & reasonable prices. I would easily recommend anyone who is looking for a tailor to shop with him first. I will definitely return for more work on my garments. read more

We were in a huge rush to find the right suit since the one we ordered online got delayed. Our event was the next day and we came to Oxford Way Tailoring hoping to find a nice one for a good price. Randy, his daughter, and the tailor were exceptional. My partner is usually a size 34 in suits, but the pants were way too tight on him. We were able to switch it out for a size 36 that needed some alterations. The tailor was Vietnamese, and I was able to communicate with him through that a lot better to get details on the alterations. Randy gave us a great price for the suit and the altering that we needed on the pants! He even went above and beyond to have the suit altered by the end of the day for us. This is an amazing business, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for suits or looking to get their suits tailored. read more

Randy has tailored many blazers and pants for me over the years. Each have always fit to perfection. But what I treasure most? My custom women's suit from Tiendres. The experience of working together to create what I've always wanted in a suit was beyond what I thought was possible. Every detail was addressed. And I get compliments every time I wear it. Oxford Way is the only tailor I recommend in the Bay. read more

We walked into Oxford Way right off the street in need of a funeral suit for my partner. I was ready to buy something from Amazon, but I'm so glad we didn't. Within 24 hours, the suit was tailored to his measurements and ready to get on a plane. I can't tell you how grateful my partner and I were to have such kindness during this difficult time. Randy also offered us a discount and didn't charge us for the fast turnaround. I highly recommend Oxford and will be bringing all of my business to them in the future. read more

I was looking for a place to get alterations at a place nearby. I came all the way from the North Bay based on some past reviews and found the service and warmth of proprietor Randall to exceed my expectations. Family business right in North Oakland. Would 100% return. read more

From the moment my wife and I entered Oxford Way Tailoring we knew we were home. Randy welcomed us in and was cordial and paid close attention to detail. I had not been to a tailor for many years but being in Randy's establishment reminded me of the days when customer service and quality work was not a concept. The second time my wife and I visited Oxford Way Tailoring we met Randy's wife and other customers who were shopping. Before long we were all talking and laughing, and the atmosphere was equal to a family reunion. We will continue to solicit Randy's business because the suit I received was an exact fit, but more than that, when we arrive, we feel as though we have known Randy for years rather than weeks. read more

Randy and his team made a bespoke jacket for me that couldn't have been made anywhere other than Saville row. He spent several hours measuring me, had me try on different jackets so I would know exactly how it will fit and feel. I am so happy I found Oxford Way Tailoring. I've had two instances where I've need seams repaired and holes patched. In one of these instances I needed it by the next day. Randy was extremely accommodating and had everything perfectly patched up by the time I got there! He even reinforced the other pant leg seam as a courtesy!! Talk about service. Fantastic operation run by an old-school professional and craftsman. Strongly recommended. I've so far had Reverend Randy update some of my favorite suits and dress shirts, tailoring them all to much more of a modern, fitted look. Sure the heck beats buying new clothes. They were all done well at a reasonable price, and now I'm inspired to be better dressed more often. OK, at least during evening hours. read more

Randy is phenomenal. I bought a new suit one day before my interview. I called him up and told him my situation. He said he could do express for me and have it within an hour. I can't even tell you how nice this guy was. He really knows his tailoring too since he has spent his life doing this. My friend had an interview a couple weeks after me and he bought a suit too. I recommended my friend here and he also had very positive things to say about Randy. The pricing is great too. Assuming you buy the right size suit (not too small), Randy will tailor it to make you look your best. 5 stars, hands down!!!!!! read more

This place is a hidden gem! I've had several major alterations for my suits after losing a lot of weight last year. The owner, Randy, is extremely knowledgeable and precise. Not only did he do a perfect job, he also gave me tips on fashion which I really appreciated! I am now a regular customer as I love to look good. I'll also be purchasing a custom suit here in the near future! Definitely make sure you pay a visit! read more

Excellent custom suit by a great tailor! I received a swath of fine Italian mohair suit fabric as a gift a year ago and was honored to have Randy and his team design and build an amazing suit to my taste. He worked tirelessly to make sure every detail was right and it turned out excellently. Fit was key for me as I wanted a modern suit that looked trim and slim-fitting and Randy did exactly that. I wore the suit at my wedding last month and enjoyed compliments and comfort. Success! High Quality Finely Detailed Styled to my taste Personal service Small business with family around Flexible hours for fittings Great price I looked at all of the options for a completely custom suit from my own (quality) fabric in the bay area and didn't like the other options. Everyone else was either out of my price range or would have the suit farmed out to Asia. Not Randy, he used his hands and his associates in town to make sure everything was done right. If you're thinking of getting a custom suit by Randy then I suggest you leave adequate time for it's proper construction. Follow up with Randy to track progress. Plan on having numerous fittings as the pieces come together. The result will be a fantastic suit at a very reasonable price. I will always have fond memories of my visits to Oxford Way. The gospel music playing distantly in the background. Randy's genuine dedication to the people and the clothes in his shop and his life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

Amazing customer service! True to the reviews on yelp Randy is an excellent businessman. I came in and tried on all three pairs of pants I wanted altered and he helped me make different changes to each one and gave me honest opinions to all of my nuanced questions. Hemmed all three to a perfect length and took the waist in on one of them to fit me perfectly. I had been putting off taking my pants to get tailored because I was worried but now I will come back in a heartbeat. Had some great conversations with Randy about business and fashion/clothing in general the time I came in and when I came to pick up my pants. There are quite a few tailoring/alteration locations in the general area but I checked out the top two on yelp and they treated me rather rudely and dismissed my questions so I worked my way to Oxford Way Tailoring via phone and was left in great hands. I have already recommended Oxford Way to my friends and I will definitely be returning soon. read more

Looking for great customer service and someone to help you with your style? Call Randy! He will take care of all your needs

This place is awesome. Randy was professional, polite, cares about his work, and I felt like I could trust him. I came in only needing to get measurements for a groomsmen suit my friend was going to purchase for me. I made it clear to him that's all I needed, as sometimes businesses dont like to just do that (I assume). It had been somewhat difficult to get the measurements, because i needed more than just the basic ones Men's warehouse would need to rent a suit. After he found that out, I think he was little less sure about if he was going to do it, haha, but he still did and I really appreciated it. He had to pull out a diagram on what measurements to take because I guess it had been awhile since he had to do a full custom suit. I was so appreciative of his time and service that I gladly left a tip to compensate him for effort, even though he didn't charge me anything for the measurements. This is the type of business that should exist in my opinion. One that provides quality service, and seeks to help the customer with their needs in a professional and competent manner. I would definitely recommend someone to go here for their suit needs. read more

10 stars! Couldn't have picked a better place to have a shirt repaired! Very reasonably priced and the best service I have ever gotten. Brought in a men's button up dress shirt that was horizontally ripped near the buttons (a sizable rip.) It was December 30th, and I told Randy I was trying to wear the shirt for my New Years Eve celebration. Randy was a miracle worker. He had the shirt ready within the day and it looked brand new! He even helped me pick out a tie to match with it. I wore it the next day! I couldn't recommend Oxford Way Tailoring enough! Randy is a Godsend!! Thank you Randy! read more

I needed some measurements for an online tux rental and this place is close to home and not a big box suit store so I gave it a shot. Randy was a great help and answered all my questions. Randy is a sweetheart and likely a skilled tailor which is a shame because he really disappointed me last week when I picked up my slacks from his shop. I brought in two pairs of slacks for work, both of which needed the waste taken in. The length on both pairs needed to be adjusted as well. Unfortunately he took the waste out on both pairs! He also took the length out on one pair when it need to be taken in. We looked at the bill where he wrote instructions for himself and it seemed like he just hadn't paid attention to them. He had me wait while he fixed the length and told me he could adjust the waists of the pants if I left the clothes with him over night. And yes, he insisted on charging me for the work he did incorrectly. Of course I took my business to a different tailor who told me the measurements Randy had done were incorrect anyway. I plan to return to randy this week to ask for my $40 back. It's a shame because I really liked this guy and have a lot of business to give him. read more
