Farmhouse sandwich ... delicious!

Beautiful location, delicious meal, and fun store.... Highly recommend stopping by this little gem! My only suggestion would be to include some indoor seating :)

The view of the pond and marsh lands from the deck. It was a spectacular midsummer day.

We had a lovely lunch at Unger Farms. My family ordered a strawberry spinach salad, cheese plate, and some gourmet sandwiches. The sandwiches came with a generous bowl of berries. All were incredibly tasty, seasonally fresh choices. Unexpectedly, the side of potato salad that came with one of our sandwiches was one of our favorites. I don't even really like potato salad and almost ordered seconds of this side. We ate on the deck overlooking a large pond in a marsh. A gorgeous view. The store had some great kitchen products. We left with some blue cheese dressing we had sampled, a farmer's market cookbook and a ceramic crock. The retail had a lovely although limited collection of local products. The staff didn't interact with us much. We ordered at a counter and returned to pick up our food when they called our number. I had them pack up one of our sandwiches which I meant to order to go. Although they were happy to do this, they put it aside on the counter and didn't tell me it was there or bring it back to our table. I was glad I didn't forget it. It was a gorgeous setting, a delicious visually appealing meal, and tempting retail experience. If they added table side service and slightly more welcoming customer service - it would be very hard to keep people away.

What a beautiful spot. I came across it by mistake and I can't stop going back to it. Their mixed berry smoothie is delicious and healthy tasting. Grapes and other products are really good. The view is just beautiful. Great spot to get married at. Their grounds are clean, well kept and beautifully decorated. I can't stop telling everyone about it!

Belgium waffle with all the berries! Blueberry, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries!

Unger Farms/ The Berry Café, a beautiful place to eat breakfast with a view of a lake and berries being picked freshly in the distance from their huge porch. I had their Belgian waffle which is more like a pancake with all the berries. You have your choice of blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or all the berries as I chose. It's also a storefront so you can purchase all of their berries and some vegetables that they have, honey, pastries, and products that they make with things that are growing on their farm. They are only open seasonal which I would think would give you the hint that their berries are non-GMO. They are open from Labor Day to memorial day and then close for the rest of the year. They are open from 9 AM to 6 PM but the café stops making food at 5:30 PM. If you're passing through or live around town and haven't checked them out you should give them a try; good place, and great friendly employees.

Nice view.

So, I haven't been to the farm or the farm store to comment. That sounds ominous, per the other…read morereviews. Gave me pause. Nope, still gonna write this. Every summer this farm puts a truck trailer loaded with corn on the highway between Hillsboro and Cornelius. It's only there a couple of weeks, then GONE till next summer. People call this, "the good corn". I hear about it all the time. From clients, coworkers, gas station attendants... it's a curious weird Hillsboro thing. There are a lot of those, trust me. Ahem. For seven years I've driven right by it. I usually don't have cash or I am in a hurry. Plus, the crowd sometimes looks sketchy. Today though, I had my family in tow and a few bucks,we were having a somewhat boring errand day, so we stopped. Braved the sketchy crowd. $1 for 4 ears. We bought eight. Now, I know how to roast, grill, barbecue, cook in milk, cook in it's husk in the oven a la Tyler Florence, etc. etc. But sheesh, our a/c is out. I ain't doing none of that heat up our house crap. I shucked the suckers, microwaved them, wrapped in wet paper towels, eight minutes for four ears on a plate. Buttered it like my grampa, you slather the piece of bread with unsalted butter ( Tillamook today), and then wrap it around the corn. Works great. Salt, pepper, done. Seriously, the best corn I have ever eaten. Sweet, juicy, goodness. Hurry up, go get some. It's gone in a flash. All those sketchy people (like me) snap it all up!

The smell of the roasting chilis is irrestible. We picked up a bag rated 3-5 on the heat scale a few hours ago and enjoyed them with eggs. Delicious. We plan to get another bag of 3-5s next week along with a second bag a step or two higher up on the heat scale. Word is Westwind will be roasting peppers at the PSU Saturday market through the end of October. The Westwind tables also offer baskets of over two dozen different kinds of fresh chili peppers for sale. The sweet peppers include California wonders, corno di toros, cubanelles, Italias, lipsticks, sweet bananas, and sweet cayennes. Hot peppers: anaheims, anchos, chocolate habeneros, fireballs, Hungarian hot wax, jalapenos, New Mex Joe Parkers, puriras, pimienta de padron, Sapporo hots, Scotch bonnets, serranos, and Thai hots, among others. All of Westwind's plants are grown without the use of neo-nicotinoid pesticides or seeds that have been genetically modified, and all of their herb and vegetable starts are certified organic.

Stopped in early again and ordered the chilaquiles (I forgot to add the pork but still very good)…read more Besides consistency the thing that I think makes a restaurant meal stand out - is the seasoning. With a well seasoned meal, you can actually taste the care and passion in the food. It annoys me to go out to a restaurant, pay for food where I am expected to season it. Show me what your vision is! Anyway - another outstanding well seasoned and flavorsome meal! Thanks!

Unfortunately, the food quality hasn't kept up with the price point lately. My wife ordered the Bodega Egg & Cheese, and it was disappointing -- the cheese tasted like a basic Kraft single, which really took away from the experience, especially paired with a bagel that didn't elevate it at all. For the price, we expected something more thoughtful and higher quality. The space itself feels like it's still figuring out its identity. "Collective Market" suggests something cohesive, but inside it feels more like a collection of random items -- though to be fair, the wine bottle selection is solid. We love the vibe this place could have, and we really want to keep supporting it. We just hope to see more care and attention go into the food and overall direction -- especially considering how great their sister location, Decadent Creations Bakery, is.
