I found Uncle's Pizzeria through Yelp, and this was actually my first time realizing that Detroit has its own style of pizza. The square shape, thicker dough, and fluffy crust were definitely different from what I'm used to, but I really enjoyed trying it. I stopped by during lunchtime, and it wasn't too crowded, so service was pretty quick. I ordered a veggie pizza along with a Caesar salad, and I definitely underestimated how much food that would be. The portions were generous, and I had leftovers for what felt like almost three days! One of my favorite parts of the visit was the music. They were playing nothing but Motown hits, and I was honestly dancing in my seat throughout the entire meal. It gave the restaurant such a fun Detroit feel and made the experience even more memorable. Fast service, plenty of food, good pizza, and a soundtrack that kept me entertained the entire time. Well well well. This is a city full of great pizza and along comes another one. We are spoiled in Detroit. We stopped by before the baseball game and enjoyed the lively, casual atmosphere. The pizza is a six-slice square and the menu is broken out by red pizzas and white pizzas. For me...a pizza has to have red sauce. The "Spiccoli" pizza was delicious - perfect amount of fresh veggie toppings and enough cheese without it being smothered. Pepperoni was nice and crispy. Go!!! You won't regret it. It's soooooo freakin good. We were visiting Detroit for the weekend and looked up pizza places near our hotel. Unc's popped up - 8 min walk from where we were staying. It was so good, we went back the next night for dinner. It's a nice, open diner vibe. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pizza is amazing! The crust is literally perfectly crunchy and flavorful. The wings are seasoned so well and they're not dry! The fries are sooooooo good!! Idk what the seasoning is but they're addicting. This place was really great. I was sceptical as I feel like Detroit has so many great Detroit style pizza places, did we really need more. I was very pleasently surprised when I came apon unc's,it has that great retro vibe with bright red tiles and spacious restaurant with lots of seating. The bartender Brye was fantastic and the drinks were super yummy. Loved the marinated tomatoes, the Caesar salad was good huge portion definitely sharable(Beware the croutons will break your teeth eat with caution would have been better crushed) The pizza was the star of all the things I tried. The gargamel was so good the mushrooms were locally sorced and the whipped goat cheese was the perfect thing to tie the flavors together. My partner got the pink room and really enjoyed it. Stopped into Unc's Pizza with Jordon and had a great visit. We were seated at a high‑top, and Drew took care of us with friendly, attentive service. We ordered the Dim The Lights and The Starling, along with the Cheese Bread and The Spiccoli. Everything was flavorful and well done. We went late (like 9pm) after a concert on a Friday. The hostess was super friendly and there was a fair amount of people dining in. Cute spot, comfy booths, not too bright or loud. Good atmosphere! Our server was working alone - the whole room aside from the bar was hers because no other servers showed up. We got a little bit of insight, but we all know how hard days like that can be. She was so sweet and busted her behind to get everybody everything they needed. It all took a little while, but it was a date night so we weren't in any kind of hurry! Had a Paloma (delish) and a beer and split a pep and mush pizza. Loved trying Detroit style za in its home place! 10/10 no notes. So good we took the leftovers back to the hotel with us! After walking around downtown, we decided to look for a pizza spot, and seeing that this was a fairly new place, I definitely wanted to give it a try. The inside is a bit on the smaller side and could fill up pretty quickly when there's a Tigers or Lions game happening. The pizza was good, although it was a little greasier and not quite as doughy as I normally like my Detroit-style pizza. Still, it was very tasty. First time checking out UNC Pizza and it was a pretty good spot. It's a smaller establishment with no TVs inside, but they do have patio seating and a full bar. All the pizzas come in one size, Detroit-style square pizza with 6 slices. I went with the Spicy Boi and it was really good. Definitely had some heat to it and lived up to the name. I got seated at the bar and the pizza came out in about 15 minutes or so. Overall, good experience for my first time. A great casual pizza option in the Capitol Park neighborhood, adjacent to the ultra-lux Prime and Proper. There's a variety of interesting red and white pizzas as well as the ability to build your own Detroit-style pie (one six-slice size only) Our server was attentive and helpful and the host greeted us and checked on us. It's also nice that there's a full bar and cocktail list. If you're looking for those crispy cheese-laden edges you won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be back again. The tomato-red interior is naturally-lit by enormous floor to ceiling windows. There are a few booths for 4-person seating, bar seating, one larger round table, and the rest of the seating is composed of two tops that can be configured for any size group. I do wish they had a bike rack and some outdoor seating...but maybe that will come soon. read more

Brand-new restaurant, and let me tell you... we ordered pretty much ALL the apps because why not?! And they did not disappoint! My favorite thing on the menu was definitely the pepperoni balls, and the pepperoni ranch that came with them was AMAZING. We also tried the Caesar salad and the broccolini pistachio pizza, which was such a unique combination but surprisingly delicious. The atmosphere is very chill and welcoming, and we absolutely loved the music they were playing throughout the restaurant. And I have to give a shoutout to the bartenders because the Aperol Spritz was wonderful! For being a brand-new restaurant, we were really impressed with the staff. While in town for Woodward Dream Cruise has the opportunity to try this new place. Great lively atmosphere. Very casual design. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. If you like Detroit Style Pizza you have found the place. Unlike other Detroit Style Pizzeria's they do not over cook the crust which makes it light and airy but not doughy. I built my own pie and it was very good. I would definitely return when in town. read more
