Mmmmm I do love the bouncy, soft, sponge cheesecake at Uncle Tetsu. They have many flavors, but I like the classic, ube, and pandan flavors. I recommend avoiding the Oreo, it was just the classic with bits of chocolate cookies inside, definitely did not look like Oreos were added and did not taste like Oreos. If you go at the right time, you can watch them make the cheesecake!

The best and fresh Japanese cheesecake you can have! I got the Original one and it taste so good and cheesy. Moist and fresh.

For the tune and original cheesecake in the mini size. $7 each and they are so delicious! I also saw that they have cookies and tarts as future options. Service was quick and pleasant and the store still had a few options at 6pm on a Thursday night. Will go back!

Newest (relatively) Uncle Tetsu location in the South Bay! Conveniently located inside Oakridge Mall right across from the children indoor playground and adjacent to 99 Ranch Market! It's a quick stop, grab-n-go kind-of location. I'm a huge fan of Uncle Tetsu back in the days when we had to drive all the way to San Mateo and got in a long line just to get one of these coveted jiggling soft Japanese cheesecakes. Nowadays, it's just 10 minutes away and there's no line at all (at this location). The closest parking is in the garage next to Living Spaces. As soon as you step inside the automatic glass doors, you'll spot Uncle Tetsu right away, with its signature smiley logo and delicious smell of freshly baked cheesecakes. Their cheesecakes are famous for being light, fluffy and melts in your mouth. A guilty pleasure that won't make you feel so guilty! $18.75 (used to be $12-$13) for a cheesecake is still a reasonable price to me, considering it probably costing you more time and money to make it yourself. I love that the cheesecake's quality here is consistently regardless of which location you get it from. I highly recommend the original flavor as it brings out the best cheesecakes flavor. But feel free to try their seasonal flavor if you're adventurous. We bought the mango cheesecake and matcha cheese tart for our goodies hunt today. Both are delicious and refreshing. The matcha cheese tart is a bit grassy and bitter for my taste but the texture feels nice. Overall, this grab-n-go store looks very clean and neat! Staff was respectful and helpful. I got my cake within 1-2 minutes after ordering. Love the convenience of the location as well :)

Pointed to the oreo displayed in the front. Got home and there was no oreo :( after confronting him, they changed the display.

The worker was so angry, he threw the cake against the wall. I bought an oreo cake on the 12th from a yoing lady at the oakridgel ocation. The cake i pointed to with an oreo displayed in the front was for my daughter's birthday. Got home, it didnt have the oero on top. Next day, brought it back and asked to exchange or refund it. I let my daughter blow her candle and have 2 slices because it was her b day and we live in another town. There was a young man working and he didnt want to help. He was huffing and puffing, getting red in the face the asked to give him the bag with cake and threw it against the wall. I stood there with shock and was a bit scared. I told him that its false advertisement to sell something in the display. He finally asked for the receipt and did the refund but was angry while doing so. I told my co worker to go back to take a picture of him. He had tattoos on his arm but when she went there were 2 other guys. I was also going to tell mall security because that type of behavior over a cake was not ok. I wasn't yelling or being irrational but he took it to another level by throwing the cake. My co worker also said they changed the display with the oreo to the one without it. I do like their cakes and have bought from here many timee, but I will not be purchasing from them again and I've been spreading word of mouth to my clients. To management, if you read this, please train your staff on how to handle certain situations with customers.

Couldn't resist but eating it all

First time I try Japanese cheesecake. By the weight of it, I'm sure I ate only 25% of the calories I get with the regular cheesecake. It is so light and delicious, not as a strong taste as American cheesecake, but it is really light. I ate it and I was done. I felt not heavy like I usually feel with a regular cheesecake. It is seven dollars, so it's not cheap. Could be enough for two people. Experience for me so I will give it five stars as a starter. Quit service and the place looks cool. There's no seating, but there are tables close by.

Cherry Blossom
Patricia A.

Came into Uncle Tetsu Japanese cheesecake for their seasonal cheesecake flavor. Their seasonal flavor at the moment is cherry blossom and of course we had to try it. The cheesecake itself is very fluffy and sponge cake like. The cherry blossom flavor is floral similar to rose petal, a bit soapy, but not overwhelming and light and fresh. It would be great paired with ice cream, but it's also very delicious on its own.

Strawberry basque cheesecake
Yuki K.

I visited on the weekend around 30 minutes after opening but the basque cheesecake needed some time to be prepped because they weren't available yet. So I came back an hour or two later and ordered the seasonal cherry blossom cheesecake along with the strawberry basque. The basque is closer to "normal" cheesecake - very dense/heavy and sweet, though not particularly cheesy. Strawberry flavor is mild as well. The cherry blossom flavor isn't particularly different from the normal one. It's known for being "not as sweet" but it's a little sweeter than something like angel food cake despite having a similar texture.

Original Cheese Tart
Devin M.

The Original Cheesecake was amazing--extremely soft and fluffy with a pleasant taste. You can't really taste the cheese, and the flavor is plain. 8.5/10. The Cheese Tart is a must-try! If you love cheese, I highly recommend it. It's sweet, cheesy, and exactly what I imagined--super crumbly and perfectly baked. 9.6/10. I'll definitely be back for this! The service was excellent--super friendly staff--and the ambiance was refined and inviting.

Lauren T.

Tried all the cheese tart flavors today: the best were the ube and original flavors. Matcha is a seasonal flavor, which was ok. I don't think I'd get strawberry again.

Monica V.

So glad there's one closer to me. Everytime I went to Valley Fair I had to get one. I usually go when there's new seasonal flavors. There was a rose flavor and it was pretty good. I like floral flavors but I can see some people may say it can taste like soap. My family tried it and like it too. Makes me wonder what new flavor they have this month.

Stopped by on my way out of the mall. It smelled so good inside. It's very organized and tidy in the store. The young man behind the counter was very friendly and took my order. I ordered the black sesame and the ube tarts. They are so delicious.

Negar T.

I love their cheese cakes. I wish they have tea or coffee too. They don't have any place to seat but their food store is very clean.

Although my go-to is the honey matcha latte, you can honestly just throw a dart and be pleasantly surprised each time (I've done this about 5 times already). This time, I got the yuzu matcha tea. SUPER REFRESHING! Tart, citrusy and with the earthy matcha, the drink was a great pick me up. I recommend getting this if you can't have whole milk and wanna try something new! My partner got the soft serve and the flavor of the matcha cuts through very well- you won't be disappointed if you're a matcha lover. The line is long, but our orders always come out fairly quickly (around 10 minutes) after we order. I think it's long because others are debating what to pick at the kiosk. The store looked kind of dead and did not have a lot of tables + seatings except the long bench. There's plenty of parking spaces since it's in a plaza. We got 2 of the creme brulee matcha swirl due to the hype of this drink. The cream was extremely thick and just for my preference, it was too much. The matcha was not as strong to balance the sweetness and decadency of the cream. We ended up letting it melt a bit so we can drink the matcha without having to eat chunks of the cream. If you like your matcha thick, then I recommend this drink! It was just not up my alley unfortunately.

I opted for ice on the side because I wasn't having my che until later, but unfortunately the ice froze into one big chunk in my freezer so I might just have them put the ice in the drink next time. I think price might be the only sticking point. The che is about 50% more expensive than Bambu or other Vietnamese dessert spots. I can absolutely see why their products are more expensive and totally think the quality of their dessert drinks surpass Bambu or similar dessert cafes. At the same time I have to acknowledge that I can order a che ba mau at another dessert spot and have my craving satisfied for less money. For me, this makes Co Ba a special treat that I wouldn't be able to have all the time.

But I wouldn't attempt any chocolate ones again if I did come back here. It's lacking something. As for the inside, it's a spacious place with plenty of seating which is nice, although the music feels a little loud. The service is pretty straight forward here as you can order from a kiosk or up front, and there are screens that show which order number is finished around the restaurant. The bathroom was clean. Our group ended up sitting outside since a lot of the larger tables indoors were occupied by only one or two people. You can grab your own chairs by the bathroom if you have a big group. I liked that menu was extensive. Besides shaved ice, they also had boba, tea, ice cream, and taiyaki. We waited maybe around 10 minutes for our order. We checked out a couple of games available near the front for customers to borrow. We shared one large mango cheesecake shaved ice and one medium Biscoff shaved ice. Mango cheesecake - This was AMAZING. My first bite tasted like heaven. The flavors worked together so well and the cheesecake wasn't overly sweet. The mangoes were ripe and sweet. Biscoff shaved ice - I enjoy Biscoff in general, but this didn't compare to the mango cheesecake at all. It was too sweet and more icey/watery. Chamomile tea drink -This paired nicely with the cold desserts. It was warm and refreshing at the same time. I almost never order nor see chamomile tea on menus so this was cool. One note: there was a water station available, but the cups were SO small. Maybe 2-3 gulps of water per cup. I wish they were bigger. Their tornado matcha is good and sweet, and is a great dessert however in my personal opinion, their traditional drinks are not standouts. Last week I went with a friend and ordered a matcha oat latte with a double shot, and while I tasted the matcha, it was grainy and didn't really have any depth. I wouldn't say I would avoid going here, for a matcha option and to get caffeinated for the day.
