I recently heard of an item called Japanese Cheesecake, which I didn't know was a thing. So for all of you that are like me and dont know about Janapese Cheesecake it is a very light and airy cake, Its signature fluffy texture comes from folding whipped egg whites into the batter and baking it in a water bath. The result is a soft, chiffon-like consistency that wobbles. So I heard of a place called @uncletetsu_katy and decided to give it a try. I ordered the coffee flavored cheesecake and it was amazing. very light and flavorful. Definitely will be back to try the other flavors. #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodblogger #foodblog #foodlovers #foodpic #foodpics #foodie #foodies

It's about $15 per cake. I got the coconut pandan which was pretty good. I also sampled the coffee cheesecake they had which I didn't really like. They have a lot of flavor options you can choose from aside from the original. Generally these cakes are too soft for me, not in a fluffy way but in a mushy one so I would keep that in mind. Kind and quick service.

Limited Asian dessert options here so I was excited to see this place pop up! Burnt chocolate cheesecake - melted googey in the middle, taste like chocolate mouse Ube cheesecake - cold Chinese sponge cake with a hint of ube? Love how they are not super sweet.

While visiting the Katy area, we happened upon Uncle Tetsu! The nearby shops support one another by offering a 10% off discount with a receipt from the neighboring shop (we went to Wushiland for boba next door). When we walked in, we were offered a sample of their limited seasonal flavor, cherry blossom. The cake itself was yummy and spongey, but we ultimately decided to get the coconut pandan flavor of their classic Japanese cheesecake to-go. The cheesecake was soo delicious and a huge hit when we brought it back to share with our friends after dinner. The coconut and pandan flavors complement one another really well and the texture was so light and creamy. Highly recommend and would go back to this or other locations to try their other offerings.

Had a real treat today! Saw they were advertising a free mini-cheesecake with purchase for national cheesecake day. So of course I signed up for the email list and we got our cheesecake today. We purchased the cookies and cream cheese cake and got the strawberry mini. It also came with cookies as well. So good, and definitely will be back. We love cheesecake but a giggle cheesecake was a fun and great treat. Getting one for next family get together

One of the best Japanese cheese cakes in Houston. I usually drive across town for 45 minutes just to come here.

Favorite place to get Japanese cheesecake. Been coming here since their grand opening. Strawberry, black sesame, and pandan coconut are my go-to. For birthday stamps, you have to call the day prior. Semi-sweet Japanese fluffy, soft cheesecakes is what you should expect. Cherry Blossom is good but my mother said it tastes like soap (if you like floral sweets then I recommend it or just for parties). Their basque cheesecakes are the less sweet version of an American cheesecake, which I also enjoy. Recently, they introduced a smaller versions of their cheesecakes, I believe 4 for $20 whereas their normal size is $16. Random specials so check out the prices in the store such as 2 for $20. Friendly servers and it's just a simple small place where you get what you need and leave. No sit in but they do offer samples throughout the day for you to try. There's some parking in this plaza but many just park in one spot and walk around to the different plaza in this nook of Katy Asian Town.

Great place to get Japanese cheesecake in the Katy area. I was surprised on how delicious the cake tasted. It's like a sponge that melts in your mouth, very creamy, not too cheesy, perfect sweetness. The texture is amazing and is very easy to eat. I would come back.

There are so many different ramen options and toppings to choose from. You can choose to get the low sodium option for all the ramen if you prefer, and they also have free unsalted ramen broth refill. They also have other dishes besides ramen, and you can also customize any existing dishes with other toppings as you'd like. I got the Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen with spinach and corn, and my boyfriend got the Spicy Ramen. Both broths were so rich and flavorful. They were both slightly salty, so we also got the clear broth refill which made them just right. The ramen had a perfect chew, and the toppings were flavorful and delicious. I usually don't like bamboo toppings in ramen because of the ammonia smell, but I tried some bamboo from the Spicy Ramen that my boyfriend got, and it had no strong bamboo smells at all. I was so impressed. I also ordered the Japanese curry with chicken kaarage to-go, and they were also really tasty. I will definitely be back to Kizuki for more in the future.

I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The service was wonderful and everything came out quickly. I tried the oysters which were my least favorite out of everything I tried. The onions take away the flavor of the oysters. I don't know if I would order it again but it is worth a try. I tried the foie gras and this was torched and I loved the texture where it melted in my mouth. I took a photo of one where one piece had half the beef from the other piece I picked up because it was not cut well. Oh well, stick to the fish I suppose. One annoyance was that the mobile checkout wasn't working, or rather it displayed the price and had a place to put your name and email, but no way to input a payment method. I've done this before in several Kura Sushi spots and was even able to login to get rewards, so not sure why it was so hard here. So I called a server and it took forever to make a payment. I might've spent 15-20 minutes just trying to pay and get out of here.
