I tried Uncle Paul's Pizza again and am happy to report that my opinion has changed. While there's no shortage of pizzerias in Manhattan, this one is pretty close to my office and has become a go-to whenever we want pizza. Since my initial review, I have been back a few times with colleagues and have reassessed the goods. The location of Uncle Paul's is ideal for a number of office buildings in Midtown East. The interior is spacious with a large back counter where you order/pick up and a decent amount of seating. While pizza is the main star of the menu, they have some traditional Italian dishes, as well as salads and apps. For this latest venture, we picked up a few items for a work celebration - namely a salad with grilled chicken, grandma pie, and a regular pie with half plain cheese half pepperoni. Everything was really good - the pies had a classic NY thin crust with flavorful sauce and a good balance of toppings. The salad was surprisingly good with a generous amount of grilled chicken. Overall, I think I was a little too quick to judge Uncle Paul's at first visit - honestly, it's a solid NY slice and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm looking for pizza in the area again. read more

I was craving some classic New York pizza, and stopped in here because it was the best-rated shop on my route. It ended up being a great choice! I quickly ordered a classic white slice. After I ordered, I wished I had taken the time to look at all of the different options! I noticed they have an alla vodka slice, which sounds incredible! The white slice was delicious and a pretty good size, and it was nice and quiet inside. The perfect little break from walking around busy NYC. read more

Quaint and intimate pizzeria about a stones throw away from Grand Central Terminal. Excellent service and clean dining area. Lasagna slices absolutely hit the spot on a cold winter day. Excellent New York Pizza! Can purchase by the slice or order a whole pie. We tried the lasagna , pepperoni, pepperoni & mushroom, and pepperoni and sausage . All were delish. They also have other goodies such as canoli's and other desserts but we didn't get to try this time around. The service was your typical order and go. The place is quaint...a few tables to enjoy your pizza and run. Would definitely come back! read more

Delicious pizza and the restaurant had a nice vibe. We ordered a gluten free pizza with several toppings - it was fresh, hot, and prepared perfectly. It was Saturday night and most tables were full, but they still has some open tables for us. Very fun and satisfying evening at Uncle Paul's. read more

Michael Scott would grab a Sbarro for a NY slice while in the city. We decided to go a little more authentic. This was just a very good small pizza joint. You walk in and all the pizzas are hot and ready, you just tell them what you're feeling. I got the pepperoni along with a NY cheesecake. It really hit the spot after all those blocks we walked. Service was fast, ambiance was just what you want out of a small pizza joint. read more

My wife and I came here with two of our friends and my wife and I agreed it was the best pizza outside of Chicago. We decided ahead of time to come here since we spent the day nearby at MoMA and my belated Great Uncle that lived nearby in New Jersey's name is Paul and it is also the name of our brother in law from New York. There is plenty of seating and the decor is very cool. The prices were very affordable and the service was fast and friendly. We would love to come back but would also love to try some of the other New York pizza places as it is a staple food there. read more

Just down the street and around the corner from Times Square, we happened upon a little pizza restaurant. It had great reviews so we decided to stop by. We've had our share of authentic Italian style pizza from all over the world, but the pizza we got from Paul's raised our eyebrows. It's not a big place, no place in New York is, but the pizza was amazing. We also had fettuccine Alfredo and the sauce was flavorful and creamy just how I like it. I know exactly where to go the next time I'm in New York and I'm in the mood for some delicious Italian food. Highly recommend this place. read more

This is by far the BEST pizza in Midtown! And I gotta say, I'm a Foodie and I LOVE pizza more than any other food group! The crust is thin.... and crispy on the bottom. The sauce is ON POINT. WHAT ELSE IS THERE??? Oh! The staff is super friendly and fun! This is a great NYC experience! Anyone who's around the area Must Must MUST stop in here to enjoy a slice. One of the beauties about New York is its local pizza. I took my sister here on her first trip to New York and we enjoyed the pizza. There was a long line when we walked in but the staff was quick and efficient with getting everyone's orders out. The Pizza had the right amount of cheese and sauce where the sauce wasn't dripping out of the pizza and the cheese had a perfect cheese pull when it came out of the oven. Another thing to note was that there wasn't much excess oil from the cheese which prevents messes too. Overall, if you're looking for the taste of New York, definitely check out Uncle Paul's! read more

Only real pizza place in the neighborhood so great to have them. Unfortunately the pizza quality and taste over the years has gone extremely downhill. We all talk about how good it used to be. Perhaps they changed ownership or ingredients. Either way the pizza is tasteless and all taste the same. Would not want to waste my calories on this. Only good if you really need to get something in your stomach quick. Otherwise skip. read more

Excellent pizza slices from this local shop. Located right off Vanderbilt. Slices are mostly what they got--and there's a big selection to pick from as therr is usually a long lunch line. Good sign! Good deeper dish pizza. Loved the crust. We also enjoyed the pasta dishes. The person taking our 'to-go' order was very busy with his phone call (air pods in both ears, obviously talking to them, not us) and only got 1/2 of our order. This employee could kill Uncle Paul's revenue stream through this location, but then a hero stepped in and took over. Uncle Paul's, thank you for a great experience at the Big Apple for my family and I. My parents first time in NYC and of course they had to eat a slice of pizza and I am so glad we stumbled at Uncle Paul's Pizza! We chose the location because they had seating available outside and we were astounded when they had dining inside too! Opon entering we were greeted by a gentleman, and I think he is the son or a relative of the owner, and he was very patient with my parents and I as we were deciding what to order. He was helpful and answered all of our questions. I loved that you can tell her had passion for the pizza! The food was delicious and authentic! I had a calzone (not my first time in NYC so I didn't order pizza lol) and man, it was packed with chicken! I wanted something with protein as I haven't been eating much protein for a week (vacation makes you eat unhealthy) and I chose just that because of it. The calzone wasnt heavy on the dough like some joints do, this one was proportioned and balanced between dough, sauce, cheese and chicken! Ok, maybe too much chicken but who complains on extra meat?! Lmao no one!! The pizza was ravedby my parents the whole time and my brother even said NY has the best pizza ever! Of course, every pizza is unique but you know what he meant, it was delicious and worth it! Given the interior and dining room and how up kept the bathroom and outdoor dining is, the pizza is worth the money and amazingly not expensive. The price is so worth the quality and quantity!!
