Super grossed out. I stopped for donut day this morning. While trying to decide what to pick, I watched an elderly lady manhandle donuts from one tray to another. It was angry rough. One donut was brushed up against another employee's shoulder and put on a tray. I should've walked out then. As I picked my final donut the elderly lady picked up a donut off the floor along with trash (parchment sheets). She crumpled the sheets and placed them on one of the trays with clean donuts along with the floor donut. I looked away for a second and then noticed she placed the floor donut back on the shelf. I informed the lady that helped me know what I had seen hoping she would removed that sugar twist off the shelf. I paid for my donuts and walked out, I didn't make it home with the donuts. I turned the car around and got my money back. Never going back again! read more

How in the world have I missed Uncle Mikes on my previous visits to Green Bay! The place is pastry heaven! The De Pere location has an entire wall dedicated to bakery cases with bagels, cupcakes, hand decorated cookies, donuts, Kringle, and I'm sure other goodies I'm forgetting. Oh, my Goodness! What a find!! We were staying in Appleton to attend the Green Bay Packers v Seattle Seahawks game (let's not talk about who won this one, okay?). We were looking for a place to get donuts to have with our tailgating beers, and I found Uncle Mike's on Yelp! Not only did they have an array of donuts and danishes, but also have several different flavors of Kringle!!!! WHAAAAAAT?? We grabbed a Salted Caramel Kringle and a dozen donuts and took them to the brewery for our pre-game festivities. The Kringle was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious! And it paired so nicely with the dark beers on tap at Badger State. We put the Kringle and donuts on the bar to share and everything disappeared pretty quickly. We enjoyed it so much that we had 2 Kringles sent to my brother's for Christmas Eve in South Carolina. They liked the Kringle more than any of their other Christmas presents!!! Uncle Mikes emporium in Appleton is awesome. The service was above and beyond great. Had lunch there and it was very good. The bakery is great. Bought a carrot cake, two Kringles and four doughnuts on a Monday for my family to enjoy and everything was eaten and gone by Wednesday. If you have not ever enjoyed their bakery it is worth a drive to Appleton to try it and I am sure you will enjoy and return many times. read more

I can't say enough kind words! I ordered an 80th Birthday carrot cake and asked the order-taker if she could put an old car on the cake. She asked what kind and color! I said a 1950 Buick thinking I would just have a little antique car in the corner!! First off, the cake was the moistest, tastiest cake I ever had and the person who decorated obviously knew their cars or researched it! Second, it was incredibly inexpensive for the amount of detail. This is my absolute FAVORITE bakery, ever!! Being from De Pere, I may be a bit biased, but Uncle Mikes is honestly just so good. From their cookies, to donuts, to cheesecakes, to chicken salad, to bread, to kringle, you seriously cannot go wrong. People make the drive from all over the state of Wisconsin just to get kringle for the holidays (or any occasion)! The kringle though.... oh the kringle. I feel sad for people who haven't experienced the joy of eating some of this deliciousness. The Sea Salt Caramel Pecan is by far the best, in my opinion, and it holds the award-winning title for best kringle in North America! While literally any flavor of kringle is to die for, I particularly like blueberry, almond, and cranberry orange pecan (seasonal) as well. We like to get the healthy harvest bread or the cinnamon raisin walnut loaf. The healthy harvest is covered in different kinds of nuts/seeds, and you have the option of getting your loaf with or without dried cranberries inside. The cinnamon raisin walnut is quite the treat, and honestly it can make a bit of a mess in your toaster! The cinnamon sugar coating on top of the loaf ends up melting down to the bottom of the toaster. Despite this, we still love to get this bread, as it's SO delicious! Toasted with butter is our favorite way to enjoy. My heart is happy whenever I get to visit Uncle Mikes, since they always have multiple plates of samples (usually their many flavors of kringle) for guests to munch on!
