Kringles are one of the iconic foods from Wisconsin. You can find kingles in a lot of different outlets. We were fortunate enough to visit one of the more popular locations in Uncle Mike's Bake Shoppe. They were pretty busy when we arrived. Looking inside there is a refrigerated section with some homemade goods, some doughnuts and fresh baked bread, and the piece de resistance, the kringle. They had several flavors including blueberry and caramel apple which they were unfortunately out of. We ended up selecting two halves since we couldn't make our mind and you only live once. We went with the Door County Cherry and Strawberry Cream Cheese. They also had some very generous samples available. First of all, the "half" kringle is huge. Looks more like a whole kringle. We really enjoyed each of them. Both flaky, buttery and tender. Loved the Door County Cherry but we might give the edge to the Strawberry Cream Cheese. That is a really tasty and indulgent combination. They do ship their kringles however getting a fresh one is a special treat. Some of the best kringles that we have ever had! read more

Went to pick up a cake at the Suamico location. I was told by their clerk they would be open until 2:00. Cake was ordered for noon and prepaid. Gave them my phone number. Went to pick it up and they were closed! No phone call to let me know as I would have come sooner since they closed at noon. Now I am scrambling for a cake for my mother's 94th birthday. read more

How have I not heard of these kind of kringles before?! I have never really been a fan of kringles, it's just not my kind of pastry. But this Frankenstein version that Mike's offers that is seemingly a blend of both a kringle and a king cake (the real New Orleans kind)? Heck ya. I will gladly devour this and will be back as often as my travels allow. I was passing through town and stopped in around noon on a Saturday and was thankful to see they had not yet sold out of Kringles for the day. Almond was the only choice left, so I went for it ($22.95)! Plus, a fudgy brownie because why not? Customer service was very friendly and helpful. After checking out I placed the massive kringle and brownie in the trunk so I could get it home to my family without me nibbling on it the entire 2-hour drive home. Once home, I have never seen my family devour a kringle so fast. From the grandparents to the little kiddos, everyone enjoyed Mike's take on a kringle. This should be the default version of a kringle! Oh, and that fudgy brownie? The best I have ever had. All the kudos, stars and compliments I can provide. How has this been kept secret from me for so long?! read more

Hate to say it..... But if you like a commercial bakery where its only rival is Kwik Trip (which by the way has better doughnuts)....5 star this place..go ahead lie to yourself. 2 stars for its free day old samples...only reason they get 2. O&H in Racine...the only true Kringle King. read more

A MUST TRY! The Kringles were so good, we even stopped a second time when we passed through the city on our way home! They had a ton of different desserts, espresso drinks, and even breakfast sandwiches made on their fresh-made bagels. A few of the Kringles were cut up to sample which helped us choose between the many flavors. You can also get half of one so it's less of a commitment, or so you can get 2 different flavors to make a whole one. We loved the pumpkin and raspberry! All of the employees were incredibly sweet and didn't rush us while we decided on everything. If you're around Green Bay, definitely add this to your list! read more

I would give a zero if I could..What happened this business has become unresponsive and definitely not customer service oriented. We used to stop here all the time and have placed orders for delivery. Ordered 2 Kringles for delivery on 2/2 and still hasnt shipped as of 2/8. Was to be dessert on SuperBowl Sunday..No number to call left 3 emails no response yet. Took my 78.00 immediately though. Wont be ordering from here again. read more

We were staying nearby and my sister insisted we stop so she could buy a Kringle. I never did sample that. You can also buy 1/2 a Kringle which is a plus. It was pretty busy but it was 8:30 on a weekday morning. It took a bit to get waited on. The place has more than just bakery but that was our focus. I did buy both a cronut which was good but not sure it was worth almost $4 and a peanut square. I fondly remembered peanut squares from my youth. Unfortunately this one was dry with very little cream inside - disappointing. I am guessing if I stopped in again and chose differently I would have a better experience but... read more

When I travel I like to try new foods, regional coffee shops and bakeries. Found Uncle Mike's via YELP. Hands down this was my favorite new try of all the establishments I visited on a 12 day trip to Wisconsin. The selection of goodies was unbelievable, the flavors were amazing and the prices were very reasonable. I'd go back in a heart beat if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Five star award winning Kringle, love every Kringle I've tried here, however $46 for a small loaf fruit cake is outrageous. Also enjoy their selection Collectivo Coffee. Highly recommend their seasonal Kringles, also cannot go wrong with a classic like the raspberry cream cheese. read more

For a real Dane, this place is a joke. It is pretend Kringle. And also WAY overpriced.

Hands down the best thing I've ever eaten! S'mores Kringle Run don't walk to try this !!!!!! read more

All I have to say is since owner past the Bakery has gone downhill. The last cringles I bought where very short on filling. That being Apple, cherry raspberry, etc. Plus, they must have messed with the ingredients of the filling . Kringle now falls short of what they used to be. read more

When visiting Green Bay, you must drive over to De Pere, for to visit this bakery. Outstanding display of every type of pastry you could possibly think of along with any other baked goods. I will hunt out new to me donut shops where ever I go so on a recent trip Green Bay, I had to go to a new to me place. I left with some donuts, some cookies, and a gigantic Kringle. The donuts and cookies were just for me. They were good, pretty standard fare. The Kringle is where Uncle Mike's stands apart. This kringle was larger than any I had seen. I had gotten their special at the time which was a salted caramel filling and shared it with a group of ladies doing bridal party stuff. It was delicious! read more

Everyone is over run the moon about Uncle Mike's and I'm completely missing the glamor. I've tried them several times now, different bakes each time and they are all totally mediocre. They're just overly-sweet, generic bakes. The donuts, the kugel, the cinnamon rolls, cookies, all of it, not sure what everyone else is geeking about. read more

The food here is good and sweet. I went home with a loaf of raisin walnut bread today. The bread is usually $6-7 but is half off on Sunday's because it is a day old. My wife had to get a petite four ($1.65 each) because they looked great. I have been here a few times and never tried their coffee bar. Today I got a mocha latte. On the way out I thought it was light so I looked in the cup. For $5 it isn't cheap and I would expect a full cup. The latte is good though and could hold up to the competition. Their Kringle is great. The cherry chip angel food cake is my wife's favorite. The donuts are worth a treat but we have rule of getting quality sweets but not too often. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, this would be the place to do so!! A smell of buttery goodness overwhelms the air (in a good way) l, when you walk in! Upon walking in the door, I was amazed by how many sample items were available to taste on the glass counter. Easily more than 10 goodies to try! You could easily have a meal tasting the samples. I was there to buy some donuts for a customer. All of the donuts looked really good, so i settled on six and a turtle paczki for myself (o.m.g. the turtle paczki....soooo delicious!!) I mentioned to my server Carol that i was so impressed with the bake shop, as a first time visitor. (The employees wear fun, bright, colorful get-ups...adding to the good vibe of the place) Anyway, Carol informed me that as a first time visitor, i could have a free loaf of raisin cinnamon sugary bread! How cool is that? (Btw, that bread is/was delicious as well!). This is a must see, must taste, must not be-on-a-diet stop! Go, eat, enjoy! read more

Uncle Mike's is simply one of the best "like home" bakeries in the Green Bay Area. I purchase donuts from this location almost weekly for others in my office. It never fails that I get read the riot act if I'm unable to make the stop on the way to work, or even worse, dare to offer Dunkin Donuts as a substitute! Uncle Mike's is an awesome place for any carb lover! It should simply be noted that because it is a very fresh, made daily style bakery, the prices are reflective of that in being slightly higher than alternatives in the area. While price may be slightly higher, I recommend everyone make the trip and try a custard filled donut or Kringle. Worth every dollar! read more

Yum! Yum! Yum! A very nice bakery with many different types of fresh bread and tons of pastries. While we love Uncle Mike's, this morning was the third time that we drove out of our way for donuts at 6am only to be told "Trucks not here yet and we don't know where it is or what time it will be here". Roads are 100% dry so bad roads hasn't been the issue. When you open your doors at 6am, those shelves should be stocked, ie, the truck needs to leave on time in order to make that happen. This isn't the only bakery in town...maybe stop acting like it is. read more

I mean their kringle brings out the hungry coworkers I have in droves that is for sure. Always a hit besides the kringle their bread is really good and I love their bun options. They do not have a location near me in Green Bay so it is a bit of a drive and more of a special treat for us but totally worth the drive. Fabulous treats if you can tolerate the attitudes of some of the clerks. Unacceptable. I suggest that the owners expect better service from their staff and in that five star service , mirror that 5 star service.
