We were fortunate enough to visit one of the more popular locations in Uncle Mike's Bake Shoppe. They were pretty busy when we arrived. Looking inside there is a refrigerated section with some homemade goods, some doughnuts and fresh baked bread, and the piece de resistance, the kringle. They had several flavors including blueberry and caramel apple which they were unfortunately out of. We ended up selecting two halves since we couldn't make our mind and you only live once. We went with the Door County Cherry and Strawberry Cream Cheese. They also had some very generous samples available. First of all, the "half" kringle is huge. Looks more like a whole kringle. We really enjoyed each of them. Both flaky, buttery and tender. Loved the Door County Cherry but we might give the edge to the Strawberry Cream Cheese. That is a really tasty and indulgent combination. They do ship their kringles however getting a fresh one is a special treat. Some of the best kringles that we have ever had!

Since this was our first visit, we went inside to order, and every staff member went above and beyond to help us understand their coffee and pastry options. They explained how their drinks have more of a true coffee flavor and helped me customize mine by reducing the number of espresso shots to achieve the lighter, sweeter, fluffier taste I prefer. I ended up with a medium seasonal drink featuring brown sugar and caramel, made with just one shot of espresso which was delicious. The scones were the best I've had. We tried the lemon, java chip, and pumpkin flavors, along with a pecan roll. The lemon and java chip were our personal favorites. You can tell this place is a local gem--while waiting in line, regulars shared their top picks, and the lemon blueberry scone was a top recommendation. The interior is just for ordering, but there are outdoor tables available. Most customers seem to use the drive-thru, which keeps things moving smoothly. We're looking forward to our next visit to the Green Bay area to try more flavors.

First, the sour dough bread is absolutely amazing! Some of the best I've ever had…read more We will definitely continue purchasing the bread. We won't go in for brunch again though. I ordered toast, crispy potatoes, a side of bacon. My daughter ordered eggs Benedict . My order came and the waitress had forgot to put in the potatoes . This was after confirming the order twice. When the potatoes came it was a small portion swimming in some kind of spicy seasoned oil. For $8 I would have expected a bit more portion wise. The bacon was fine. Nothing remarkable, and $4 for two slices. The toast and jam was ok. The toast bordered on burnt and was served without butter. The jam was more like a strained strawberry puree. The toast was tasty, except for the slightly burnt top. The eggs Benedict was $22. For that price they should be stellar! The English muffin had burnt bits, the hollandaise was ok, nothing special , the ham was tasty , but the egg was poached way past the point you would want or expect with eggs Benedict . There was a side of thinly sliced zucchini and squash that was quite tasty . Again, terrific bread- but we will skip the dine in options.
