My family and I were very excited to try this restaurant, but we were disappointed in our visit. We came in on a Monday, so it was a slow night. The service was extremely slow,which shouldn't have been the case because there were plenty of servers. It took 10 minutes to get us our waters, and 45 minutes to get our luke-warm food. One of my family members sent back one of their plates, only to receive another mediocre plate. The food is nothing special, especially for the price. Another thing that was off-putting was the slow service. Instead of tending to tables, the servers were talking and laughing with each other rather than doing their jobs. I took my mother to Uncle Julio's at Kuykendahl and 99 for her birthday and we had to wait over a half hour to get a table. I ordered a house margarita which I thought was kind of expensive at nine dollars. But after the bill came found out it was $12! We ordered and it took almost 20 minutes for the food to come to the table. I ordered beef enchiladas and it showed up they were cold. I had to ask other employees to help me track down my waiter. But he was nowhere to be found. So the guy who was cleaning the tables offered to take it back and warm it up for me. At that time I guess he was a manager come up and wanted to know if I wanted to re-order or just warm it up. I said just warm it up because my mother was halfway through her meal. So, I guess I am some what a regular here. Honestly, I haven't ever felt the need to review. I always feel at home. It's next to my office in Spring. No matter what time of day, no matter the mode I am in or who is working... my experience is always pleasurable. My other half and I like to think of the place as the final destination. ALWAYS CONSISTENT SERVICE. FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD. ENVIRONMENT IS ALWAYS INVITING. BATHROOMS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN! Can't believe my eyes looking at all the mixed reviews. I met a girlfriend who had been here before. The food was very good but a little to the pricey side. Kind of like a Hispanic version of pappadeaux's as far as I could see. The sever is brand new, why would you give the man big table sections when he's supposingly "BRAND NEW" he took almost an HOUR trying to figure out everybody's checks when we let him know from the get go who was together on each check. This place wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The stars I gave it directly reflects the server and his ability to remember what I ordered. He forgot a lot of drinks I ordered and would just never show up with one. After multiple reminders I got drinks served at our table. Other than that it's average Tex Mex food. I don't think the price reflects the quality. A little too overpriced in my opinion but I guess they have to charge that in order to pay the bills for the location. ----UPDATE 7/6/18---- I went here around 8pm to have a second go hoping it would be different. We only waited 5 minutes so that was nice understanding it's a Friday night and it's busy. Our server came by soon after and took our drink orders and then we ordered a small order of guacamole. Drinks came quit (not exactly accurate... again but I didn't complain). After we had ordered a while passed by and she came by to ask if we got the guacamole and we said no. She grabbed it for us quickly and about 1 minute later the food arrived. I drank my iced tea quickly and for the remainder of the time I was there I never got a refill. First time here. Tried the mixed enchiladas and very impressed. I would recommend any of this as a dish or definitely try the mixed platter and see what I mean. The first time I went the service was awful. The waiter disappeared for a long time. He never refilled our drinks. Our food came out barely warm. The chicken dish I ordered tasted like chicken from a can!! I didn't want to go back but my husband wanted to give to another try!!!! Needless to say it was awful. The services was better but the food and drinks were awful. The margaritas were way to sweet and tasted like their wasn't any alcohol! We ordered The Jalisco fajitas, the shrimp was dried out, the steak was still bleeding and the chicken had some sort of gristle and was gross!! I think I might have got a little food poisoning. Ordered some food on Uber Eats. It was all delicious. The only thing I would say is that the sides like charro, queso, salsa, guacamole all came in incredibly small dishes. The first time I visited Uncle Julio's, I had a terrible experience. I am not from the area, but was visiting family. Upon my next visit, a family member suggested we go there, and because I am easy, I reluctantly agreed. I am pleasantly surprised with what a turn around it had been since my last visit! The service was SUPERB. The food was good (which was not my complaint from my last visit). This time, I decided to start with a Tres Amigos that was recommended by my excellent waitress- which was tasty! I split the white queso (Blanco, I believe) with my family, which we enjoyed. I ended up getting some enchilada platter that was excellent as well. The main reason for my satisfaction was my waitress! The last time I went to this restaurant, my waitress was the reason for my poor visit (I will not mention her name). She acted as if she did not want to be there and was very inconsiderate. However, this time, Karianna (I believe that is her name- it was a unique one so I can't remember quite exactly) was chosen to take care of my family, and she was absolutely excellent. She was knowledgeable with the menu, which really helped us choose what to order as a family, she delivered everything we asked in a timely manner, but her attitude was what struck me as excellent. From the moment we sat down, she treated us as though we actually mattered to her. She was genuine and kind and put a smile on our faces. The previous evening, we had lost my father-in-law (which was the reason for my visit back to Spring, TX). She lifted our spirits and gave us a wonderful experience, which truly made a difference to us. We were able to forget what was going on in the outside world and were able to enjoy a meal as a family for that hour and a half that we were there. I saw the way she was with her other tables, which were all close to ours, and she presented the same display to all of her guests. I feel that waitresses and waiters only get called out for their poor work, so I thought it was necessary for me to commend her, on behalf of my family, for the wonderful work that she did. When we told her that we had just experienced a loss, she knew exactly what to say to truly make us happy to be there. Each and every time I come back to Texas, I will return to this restaurant and ask for her. She is truly a beautiful individual, inside and out, and we are truly blessed we gave Uncle Julio's another shot. I hope next time I come back, she will still be working there so I can tell her how much her service truly mattered to me and my family. read more

My friends and I were visiting from out of town and so happened to come across this restaurant. There seemed to be a long line but we were seated pretty quickly. The interior in the restaurant was so beautiful , and so clean. Besides the great food and amazing drinks our waiter Sam was top notch ! She made sure we had everything we needed and more. We have been going to the Spring Uncle Julio's since they opened. They have definitely gone through some growing pains. We have been on the receiving end of some of those pains but I have to say the Manager, Chris, was very receptive to our feedback & helped to fix the issues. We also sit at the bar so the bartenders are what we base our service on. We had a bad experience with one of the bartenders but the manager told us he is no longer there. Which is good because he was definitely giving off a bad impressions to customers. Jasmine & Lydia are awesome bartenders! They learned our names & what we like to drink right away. Food is good. Table sided guacamole is fantastic. Drinks are great as well. Very good margaritas (regular & skinny). Drinks are a bit pricey but they are good!!! The one thing I REALLY think they need to change is their beers on Happy Hour. Also, I think it would be a huge improvement to have Draft Beer. My hubby is a huge draft/craft beer fan & he gets really frustrated that there is no draft beer & the only beer he likes & that is on Happy Hour is the Dos Equis Amber. Draft beer is the craze these days & it is also a huge profit maker. When if you just offer a few popular ones (i.e. Modelo, Victoria, Pacifica, Shiner, Miller Light, Bud Light). read more

This was our first time to try this restaurant. My wIfe and I love to eat Mexican food. We were in the area saw the sing and decided to give it a try. When first walking up we noticed the exterior area was clean and free of debris. Once inside there was a little wait but once seated the seating was comfortable and clean. The waiter promptly asked for our drink order and even suggested a specialty drink. We were immediately served. Chips and salsa. Good salsa! I honestly do not know why this place doesn't have all great reviews, possibly they struggled when they first opened? We went there with a party of 15 and everything was great! The service was absolutely wonderful and attentive! Everyone loved their food and trust me, we have a lot of picky eaters that love dining out! My husband and I split mixed fajitas and they were so tender and flavorful. Everyone at the table loved all that they ordered, absolutely no complaints! At the end of the meal we had a huge chocolate piñata that was fun, enjoyable, and plenty to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth!
