Super delicious and super fast food. Tuck next to a spa, Umi cafe offers fusion food in Issaquah. Everything we ordered was super flavorful and delicious. The food came out so fast too. Definitely will be back.

Really great find and highly recommend it. Restaurant with areally nice outdoor seating with a nice pond. Food was great, staff was great and place was great. What we got: Classic Pho 4.8/5 - Broth is reaaaallllyyyy delicious! - Great portion. Taiwanese beef noodle soup 3.5/5 (4.5/5 when you add the chili paste) - The broth was very light and refreshing compared to the taiwanese beef soup im used to; its almost taste just like regular beef pho; but when you add the chilli paste to it; its gives more depth to the soup and really make the dish reallllyy good. Lime chiken wings 5/5 - nothing but greatness. The sour, the umami from the fish sauce, the crunch from the fried garlic and the fresh cilantro; so so so good! Vietnamese coffee 3.5/5 - good but not great; i wish it was stronger. Overall its a great place to eat. I will for sure return and try their other offering.

The name fooled me. I expected this to be a small café and was surprised to see a beautiful garden as I passed the gate. This was just perfect as we were coming back from a short hike with two dogs. After checking with the owner, I went back to my car to get our 4-legged friends. Here comes the second surprise. We ordered 3 dishes. Short rib pho, beef salad, and duck bun. I had to order inside, similar to a fast-food restaurant, but the quality of the food matched that of full-service restaurants. The pictures of the food seem to be very rare because we're sitting outside under a red umbrella. Let's start with the pho. I rarely drink the soup base as they are typically salty and full of MSG. I am not against MSG, first of all. This soup base is different. It has such a clean taste with a hint of MSG. Just perfect. I really liked it. The beef salad was awesome. I felt they could've added a bit more avocado, but I understand the cost of avocado as well. The duck bun was very delicious without being too sweet or salty. In fact, every dish I had there had a good balance. I will not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all my friends, especially if you are with your dogs!

3.5 stars * Red curry chicken 3/5 * Chicken and rice 3/5 * Bubble tea 3.5/5 The food didn't excite me. It was middle of the road for sure. They have a lot of options and the outdoor seating is really nice. Not bad prices and easy parking.

This is a perfect date spot for a nice summer day if you're craving Asian food. I'm usually wary of pan Asian type of menus (they include Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai) as I worry about authenticity of taste. We got the bah mee (dry egg noodle dish with wontons and bbq pork) and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The bah mee was ok but the beef noodle soup was surprisingly authentic in seasoning. The highlight was definitely the outdoor patio with a lily pond. If you sit outside, orders are placed inside and paid up front but food is brought to the table.

Umi Café is such a hidden gem! We stopped by after a medical appointment and were blown away by how good everything was. I ordered the chicken pho and it was so flavorful, comforting, and delicious. I could honestly eat it every day. My husband had the Umi chicken and said it was packed with flavor as well. We also tried the fries, which were surprisingly great! They were crispy and perfectly seasoned. The location itself is really lovely. They have outdoor seating right next to a koi pond, which creates such a relaxing, peaceful vibe- perfect for enjoying a meal. The combination of amazing food, friendly atmosphere, and such a nice setting makes this spot one we'd absolutely drive back for. Highly recommend!

Fun little Vietnamese place in Issaquah. Service is prompt yet feels like a family run business. Everything's clean and well kept, food is well presented and tasty. I feel like a lot of the places nearby are a little too "local" and/or "casual" - Umi would do just as well (if not better) in downtown Seattle.

Great and friendly service. Was excited to try this place as I was really missing Taiwanese comfort food and was not disappointed. The popcorn chicken was crunchy, light, flavorful and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup was warm, had just enough spice. Duck bun special was good as well. Definitely will come back.

After troll hunting, Amber found a close spot nearby to grab a bite. Boy, did we luck out. The outside area is super chill. I bet it's tranquil over the summer with the little water feature outside.  HIEN the owner told us anything we order, we will like. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!! On top of that, it was the fastest service ever!!! For apps, we ordered the Crispy chicken gyoza...perfectly crispy that went well with the sweet chili sauce. We also had the pork belly bun. The pork belly was  braised with pickled greens, cilantro, and came with a delicious homemade sauce. Wow. That pork was so tender! It melted in your mouth! The sauteed green beans in caramelized garlic... Yaaaas!!! So fresh...so garlicky...LOVE!!! For entrees, we got the Beef Coconut Curry. It had thinly sliced braised beef in coconut milk and red curry. Omg absolutely delicious!!! The thinly sliced beef was a nice surprise and new experience with curry. On the specials menu, we ordered the duck bun. The roasted duck was cooked to perfection  paired well with the pickled greens. I could eat these all day! ;) We also ordered the Umi noodles. Fresh shrimp and bok choy were delightful, and the homemade sauce was dancing in my mouth. A little sweet, a little spicy, a little sour...omg. Drinks were delicious, many to choose from. We were all super satisfied! And the best part....we got to sit outside in the beautiful fall weather before it rained. And the food... FASTEST FOOD THAT HAS COME OUT AT A SIT DOWN RESTAURANT. We were all shocked! I know i said at least twice during the meal that I'd trek back up to Issaquah JUST for this amazing mom and pop small business! Thanks, Hien! This place is pretty good, but not exceptional. You order, take a seat inside or outside and the food is brought to you. Expansive menu, with options for everyone. The outside is really peaceful with some water features. Had the Szechuan beef starter and classic pho as my main course with a Thai iced tea. Everything was good, but again nothing knocked my socks off. Would come back to try more!

I haven't heard of this place til I started looking on Yelp for some places to eat in Issaquah. It was a nice sunny day so I decided to come here for brunch and took advantage of dining outside when it's not so hot out. Upon arrival, I noticed the outside looks like a temple with many trees surrounding the area. When you walk inside, it was very tranquil with a pathway towards a pond and to the restaurant. There's a sign outside that said you have to order in advance before taking a seat outside the patio area. I ordered the strawberry milk tea while my partner got the snowing white coffee. I thought the milk tea was mediocre, couldn't taste much flavor due to so much ice. The coffee was surprisingly good though. It had coconut syrup which made it delicious on Vietnamese coffee. We decided to share a few small bites since we weren't too hungry at the time. Here are my thoughts on each: Salt and pepper tofu: really love this dish! The tofu was soft inside and lightly crisp on the outside. The flavor profile was on par as well. Pork belly bao: the pork belly slice were tendered and juicy, paired with pickle veggies inside. They do not skimmed down on the size of the meat. Will definitely order this again! Honey basil garlic wings: I thought this was okay. Didn't really have much flavor except the sweet chilli sauce. Order at your own risk if you don't want to attract bees outside. Popcorn chicken: we thought this was okay as well but there wasn't much seasoning. For $10, I will pass on this next time. Soft shell crab bao: I was looking forward to this one and thought it was worth a try. The crab wasn't too big but perfect size to sandwich in between the baos. For $13, you get two baos to share. I pleasantly enjoyed this one. Overall, a nice hidden gem outside a neighborhood in Issaquah. Definitely one of the best Asian fusion restaurants we've been to just for the food and atmosphere. Will come back again next time to try their other main entrees.

    Is this place dog friendly?

At least in the summer, you can sit outside on the patio with your dog.

Is the popcorn chicken white or dark meat?

Dark but it's not quite right. Lacked flavor and crispness. Go elsewhere for popcorn chicken.

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #95…read more I loved the Rabbit Rabbit Tea in LQA from my very first visit. It firmly sits at my #2 favorite boba shop out of the 91 places I've visited in and around Seattle. I found out that they had another location in Issaquah and I made it a point to visit after hiking in the area over the weekend. This particular location shares a storefront with a Taiwanese restaurant, One N Half Lab, which I will definitely have to try in the future. This means there's plenty of seating, making it a great place to relax while sipping on drinks. Ordering is simple on the kiosk right in front, and unlike many other boba shops in the area, employees are available for questions. Iron Buddha Thick Milk Tea, 50% Sugar, 30% Ice w/ Boba ($6.90) - We were told that the "thick milk tea" is much richer than the normal milk tea due to the addition of cheese foam in the drink. That's pretty accurate. This drink is extremely luscious and rich, but the problem with cheese foam is that it completely takes over the entire drink, making it taste like the stinky and salty cheese. That's why it's usually used as a topping rather than being mixed in from the start. The delicate Iron Buddha flavors are unfortunately completely obliterated here. Thirty percent ice isn't quite enough to completely cool down the drink, although it's almost there. Unlike the Rabbit Rabbit in Seattle, this location doesn't offer honey boba and instead only has either regular boba or brown sugar. For this drink we went with the regular, which is definitely on the softer end of things, with a soft velvety exterior but an interior that's nice to chew on. It's definitely from a long soak in a sugar solution, making the pearls quite sweet. It's not too soft to be unlikable. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 Japanese Buckwheat Milk Tea, 25% Sugar, 30% Ice w/ Brown Sugar Boba ($6.45) - I usually love drinking true teas only (as opposed to tisanes), but i make an exception for buckwheat. The buckwheat tea that Rabbit Rabbit serves is exceptional. It's smooth, rich, nutty and toasty in flavor with the right thickness from the addition of creamer that doesn't overwhelm the flavor. I typically find that Rabbit Rabbit's brown sugar boba is sweeter than honey or regular boba, so I get the drink less sweet, in this case 25% sugar. It adds up to about the same sweetness level as 50% with the other boba types. The brown sugar boba is very soft, much more so than the normal boba with an exterior being almost too soft, approaching mushy, but somehow also has a bit of a grainy feel on the tongue. It doesn't feel great on the tongue but is fine to chew through. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 Unfortunately I don't think this Rabbit Rabbit is nearly as good as the one in Queen Anne. It's still probably a good choice for Issaquah, and considering that they serve some really delicious looking Taiwanese food, I'd certainly return. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

Have tried their buckwheat tea, their strawberry buckwheat tea, and original milk tea on three seperate occasions, and it's delicious every time! The signature fruit tea is very generous with the fruit slices and you can buy it as a combo with food! The spicy noodles was cooked throughout and the beef was soft and moist. The braised pork over rice was a comforting flavor. cashier and server was the same person, and all the food + drink came out timey and hot! Went during an after school crowd so there were some people sitting in and standing in line at the self-order screens, but aside from the regular pop music playing from speakers overhead, the noise level is normal. I'm definitely coming back here to try other things on their menu when I'm craving a snack!

Located in a small business strip in Issaquah across from the Gilman Village, parking is easy to find in the lot, but it can be limited with the space and other businesses around. Inside, the shop is very cute, with pastel decore, velvet seats and tables, and plenty of places for photo ops. I ordered the ube matcha latte and the seasonal pandan donut, which were both good. I enjoy this location has free parking and seating inside but feel this location could be more welcoming in many ways. I was the third customer and it wasn't busy yet (said by an employee to another employee who was late), but the employee rushed me talking extremely fast and in a let's get this over with tone. But the two behind me were regulars and got a very relaxed tone, slower pace convo, and smiles. She remembered their names which is cool but she could've smiled at me like she did to them and not rush me? Just a little unwelcoming to those who are not regulars tbh. Also if there is seating inside why are there no trash cans around? I had to throw my donut wrapper and napkin trash in the restroom since all trashes were behind the counter and again the employees were caring for the regulars. The regulars behind me also were given napkins with their donuts and I was not so after I heard the male employee offer napkins to them I went up and asked for one since he never gave me one or asked if I wanted one...Just felt like my business did not matter compared to the regulars which is disappointing being honest. Maybe they should keep napkins and a trash readily available for customers in the lobby since they do have seating inside which would make sense and is the norm?... My Goma Goma drink with oat milk and standard sweetness was delightful and finally got my hands the famous donuts! I tried a matcha donut and honestly probably one of the best donuts I've ever had. The dough is so soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet with plenty of matcha filling as they don't skimp! The donuts are big! Soooo delicious. I love Bobae but this location isn't my go to.

Each of us ordered a slice of crepe cake, which felt like a perfect way to end the night. Out of the seven slices, my husband's slice was still frozen in the middle. I walked up to the counter where two young guys were working and politely asked if we could get a different slice, since everyone else was already seated and eating. Instead of acknowledging me, they immediately started speaking Chinese to each other without even a simple "one moment" or any indication they were discussing the issue, so I eventually just walked back to our table. About five minutes later, after they had apparently consulted with a woman in the back, one of the guys finally came over and told us they would not exchange the slice because my husband had already tried it. We were all just sitting there, honestly dumbfounded. A basic level of customer service would have been to apologize and swap one slice of cake, especially when you have a whole group there to celebrate. You didn't just refuse to replace a frozen slice of cake--you lost seven customers over the way you handled it. We will not be coming back.

My friend was a big fan of boba tea, and I missed Taiwanese street food badly, so we just decided to try out this place. We showed up right after they opened their door. I am a low tech person, but I found their ordering kiosk was easy to use. We ordered two meals, Taiwanese sausage bento and Beef noodle soup, that came with drinks. One interesting we noticed is that each meal selection came with different drink options. When we ordered Taiwanese sausage bento, there's an option to order a drink at a cheaper price, but no old fashioned black tea, so we ordered milk tea. However, when we ordered beef noodle soup, there's no milk tea option but old fashioned black tea. We thought all the add-on drink options were the same, but they weren't. We then got milk tea and black tea from the add on options since it's much cheaper. We also ordered blood rice cake and the braised combo. There were a few tables in the store. When we were there, not too many people were there, so we just picked up a table. The food came very quickly. During the lunch time, around noon to 1 pm, the entire place was packed. After that, most people just came to pick up something and left. The food was very delicious and was authentically Taiwanese food. The blood rice cake was southern Taiwanese style. I wish they also had northern style that would wrapped with peanut powder. The braised combo was very tasty. I guess it was cooked in the sauce for a long time. The beef noodle soup was really good, and they could add picked mustards for free. My friend and I had a lot to chat, so we stayed in the store until they closed. Nobody ever tried to kick us out simply because we had stayed too long. We had a good time there, enjoying the food and the drinks. I am sure that we will come again soon.

Lu rou fan bento - "Braised Pork Belly" (4/4) The portion size is generous and includes all the elements you'd expect from authentic Taiwanese lu rou fan, or braised pork rice. The fresh vegetables, including pickled radish and cabbage, are tasty and pair nicely with half an egg, tofu, and corn. The dish lacks some of the bold Taiwanese flair I was hoping for, but it's still a solid meal. Popcorn Chicken (4/4) Freshly made and served piping hot, the popcorn chicken has a nearly perfect batter with a light, tender crust. However, the chicken itself is slightly dry. Traditionally, this dish is served with fried basil and optional chili powder for extra spice, but neither was included. Iron Buddha Milk Tea (5/5) I ordered this with 50% sweetness, and it tasted amazing! It was slightly creamy, with a well-balanced milk-to-tea ratio, a wonderful aroma, and a subtle tea aftertaste. Milk tea can be quite pricey these days, so it was refreshing to find such a delicious one for only $5.25.

I saved this place when I saw an Instagram reel from when they first opened and wanted to come…read moresupport them. Now that we were in Issaquah, we were craving poke and I wanted to come here as they had less reviews than the other poke places around Issaquah. As we walked up to the entrance, I did notice the food safety sign and was a bit nervous about the low rating especially with an establishment that deals with raw fish. Once we entered inside, there was one customer making his order. They have a digital menu on big screens or a brochure menu near the cash register. We placed our order which was two large bowls. I got salmon, chicken and shrimp but the man misheard me and put in tuna instead of the shrimp. Now I would have stopped him but he placed the salmon and tuna into a metal tin and put spicy mayo on it before I could stop him. I do like that they marinate it fresh as soggy foods make me gag. I got half salad and white rice with my order as well as a bunch toppings to go with it and everything was pretty good! I was very happy with my bowl but my biggest complaint is that I didn't like that the rice was really hot as it was a weird feeling to eat cold toppings, proteins and salad with hot rice. I feel that if you are better off putting it in the fridge and enjoying it later. I didn't have that option as we wanted to eat out. The service here was very friendly and professional. We were served by a kind man who welcomed us the moment we walked in and when we left, he bid his a kind farewell. The inside was nice and had a couple tables and chairs for people to enjoy their meal and they offer free water to have with your meal. They had nice soft pop covers playing in the background and the space looked clean. Overall a great poke spot!

While waiting for my…read morekiddos to finish tutor, decided to give this place a try since I already tried the nearby burger restaurant. My first impression, the place was clean and bright but as I sat down with my foods, there were multiple fruit flies circling around my table which really turned my appetite off. One of the flies even landed inside my vermicelli bowl. I ordered the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. Priced at $11, which was decent. The veggies were fresh and added a nice crunch. The grilled pork was disappointing, flavors were off. The fish sauce was also not the same ones I normally get at pho restaurants. Overall, the food taste is not for me. The service was friendly.
