You would think a restaurant like this - in the most expensive area in Madrid would have the best service and people would understand English. But no, only the managers and one Asian lady understood English. I understand that they don't speak English, but don't pretend to understand and ignore us. The service was super slow. Food was so so. I felt full after sitting there for 40 minutes after only one plate of ham was served. The best thing we ordered was the ham, but that did not require any cooking skill. The second best was their artichoke anchovy salad, it was tasty. I found sand in both green salad and their Secret pork's cabbage. The pork was yummy but was a bit overcooked, not as good as a small restaurant in Barcelona where I first had it. When the bill came they charged us for an extra person, and charged 7.20 euro for my hot water. They probably thought we didn't understand Spanish so they could just trick us. It was super shady. Don't come here, since food in Spain's so cheap, this place's totally not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere for better food. read more

I don't know if the servers here purposely try to overcharge foreigners, but they sure did a lot of it. They probably assume that we won't read the receipt to make sure the charges are correct before paying. They charged us for 3 ppl service for our table of 2. My wife asked for hot water because it was raining and cold. They charged 3 separate tea service for a total of 7.80 Euro. We brought these extra charges up and they took almost 20 mins to correct the charge. The lady basically dropped the tray in the table as if to say "there are you happy". Fantastic restaurant in Salamanca. I had heard about this place many times so I finally went to check it out. The restaurant is very cute and well decorated. It is a bit dark but I really liked the ambiance. We started with the burrata and the ceviche. The burrata cheese was extremely flavorful and paired so nicely with the tomatoes. It was a great choice. The ceviche was also very nice. It wasn't the best ceviche that I've had in Madrid but it was still very good. We then shared the Peruvian quinoa, which everyone absolutely loved. We split three starters between five people and we felt that this was enough as we were not too hungry. For my main I had the quintin pasta. This is amazing and absolutely made the meal for me. The sauce was so flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. It was so rich but yet not overwhelming and not too heavy. It was a great choice and I would definitely recommend. For dessert I shared the brownie with ice cream. It was warm and tasty and hit the spot!! It is a very rich dessert but delicious. Overall I had a great experience here. There is a decent wine selection and we had great service. read more

Pasta starting at 16€. Of course you pay the location, but it's just a bit too much in my opinion. Next downturn: seating. Literally no space between tables and chairs, they cram in whatever is possible. Not ok and not a comfortable or relaxed setting. For the high prices and seating one star less each. Service is OK, but not very personal. Otherwise: give it a try when you feel you need to spend some extra. read more

We were with kids and it seemed that it bothered them and sent us to the only one table in the second floor close to where the servers were picking and storing dirty dishes and trash. Gorgeous dinner stop on our first night in Madrid, and we loved it so much we came back for a sangria at the bar the next evening. It nicely bridges the traditional vs trendy gap, with exposed brick walls and soft lighting that give it a warm, homely feel whilst attracting a notably well-heeled crowd. There's even a fruit display in the corner reflecting their grocery store beginnings. We were seated in the dining room upstairs which had the perrrfect ambiance for date night... though I had 2 colleagues with me for entertainment instead. The waiting staff were extremely helpful when ordering as there were a few things we needed a little translation help with - they had English menus but not everything had an equivalent. I persevered with the Spanish menu anyway, dusting off the cobwebs on the high school Spanish to give it a go! The selection was mostly traditional dishes and some others with a twist, and even a pizza section which seemed a little out of place. The focus throughout though is on fresh eco-friendly ingredients (hence the organic pizza line-up). They actually had me at the free cheese they brought out to nibble on first. I know, I'm a cheap date. That cheese may in fact have been the reason I was so keen to go back the next day... mmm. We ordered a few dishes to share to start, including black cod croquettes (which I was excited about but couldn't taste much cod) and duck rolls (which I wasn't excited about but should have been - nicely crispy, not greasy at all). For main I ordered lasagne with leeks and artichokes, which I'd been worried was going to be too heavy after the sizeable starters and plenty of lovely Spanish white wine, but turned out to be the most low-carb, light and delicious lasagne I've ever tasted. No melted cheese in sight - in fact it was predominantly full of greens. Just what I needed after the fairly heavy starters. The only sour note came at the end when it took about 20 minutes for our bill to arrive. And when you're a starving-by-7pm UK gal adjusting to the let's-have-an-early-dinner-at-10pm Spanish way, I was practically ready for bed with the last mouthful so it seemed like an inordinately long time to wait! A very high quality meal overall though, with prices reflective of that and the location. Make sure you book in advance for dinner, though you can stand outside or get lucky with a bar spot if you're just after a drink (and that cheese)... read more

Ugh, Quintin is so chic, it's ridiculous. My husband and I stopped by around 7pm this past Saturday night for an aperitif and a plate of jamon, drawn in by the beautiful surroundings and lively atmosphere. They have a salon for dinner, a counter for take-away, and a bar area for drinks. The most popular at that time was obviously the bar area, brimming with well-heeled Madrileños. Our waitress flaked out about halfway through, but other waitresses picked up the slack. If I lived nearby, I'd most certainly be a regular here. read more
