This is a beautiful restaurant in Salamanca, where the beautiful people with money dine with friends and family, or have a swanky date night. The interior of the restaurant is dark and luxe, with red leather booths surrounding the dining room in the back. Nice paintings and bookshelves adorn the walls, and everything has an expensive, luxurious feel. We ordered two cocktails to start: a Violetta for me, which was incredibly sour and almost undrinkable; and a Humo for boyfriend which he loved. The Humo came with a waiter using dry ice to create a bubble which burst and erupted into smoke. Very cool. For a starter, we ordered the Grilled Octopus, which was outstanding. Probably the best octopus dish I've ever had. Tender, but smoky, and accompanied by slices of potato with a dollop of green sauce, which was cool and refreshing, or red sauce, which was spicy. For entrees, we had the Truffle Risotto and the Beef Shank Wellington. The risotto was among the best I've ever had. Lots of grated fresh black truffle on top of a very creamy risotto. I ate every bite. Boyfriend thought the Wellington was odd, with meat sliced like "stew meat," as he put it, inside of pastry dough with greens on top and served with a beef gravy. I tried it and thought it was excellent; however, he is a Wellington connoisseur. He managed to eat all of it, though. As this was a Saturday night, there was an excellent live band playing Spanish music, at just the right level of volume. Several customers, including me, took videos of the band. We also ordered glasses of wine which we did not like; however, we have no familiarity with Spanish wines at all. The service was very spotty, odd and uneven. We only saw our original waiter once, who took our food order. Another waiter handled our initial cocktail order only. When we ordered wine and a second cocktail for boyfriend, the young waiter who brought out the drinks messed up the order twice. We had to get up and flag down someone for the wine list, who asked our original food waiter to come see us. Then no one seemed interested in processing our bill. After about 20 minutes, we flagged down another waitress to pay the bill, who obliged, but had "this is not my job and not my table" written all over her face. Despite the good food, good music and nice ambiance, we would not go back. They clearly have service issues; the food and drinks are overpriced; and I did not like the wine or cocktail I ordered (probably my fault for making poor choices). read more

We were seated and immediately our waiter came and asked for our drink order and we asked for a little time to look at the cocktail menu. He never came back and so we waited quite a bit to place order. Another waitress came and took cocktail and appetizer order and drinks took over 30 minutes to arrive. And I had to get up to speak to a manager to ask who was our server for the night. He brought a bread basket to the table, apologized and brought out appetizers. The food was delicious, but the pulpo came out cold. Ordered entrees and more cocktails. Waiter brought cocktails and spilled one on my daughter. Felt bad at first, but then the waitress spilled another cocktail on the table. Then again, waited for the bill for way too long, and once received the bill, we were charged for three bread baskets. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was r sure what to expect... When we arrived, we waited a short time to check in with the hostess for the reservation. As we got seated, someone came over with a free tasting of a white wine for the entire table. Our server spoke English and was able to give detailed recommendations and how the food was prepared. The cold tuna appetizer was absolutely perfect. By far one of the best dishes I've ever had. On top of that, the portions were huge. We ordered a salad to share and it was definitely enough to share! Prepare your phone camera because this is one of the fancier places in Madrid for a nice dinner. It will awe you immediately upon arrival. Just be aware that they will rush you out after 2hrs (which seems to be the norm in Madrid) It feels like a party because there's a live band and DJ to make the night more entertaining and festive so expect it to get loud as the night goes on, not much of a place to hold a conversation. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and most of them speak English. It's not only looks because the food does not disappoint but plan on spending significantly big for a premium experience. The menu is extensive and the dishes are more on the upscale side. I can say that everything my group ordered was delicious. They start you with a very nice touch: bread, tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil so you can make your own Pan con tomate. The highlights were the rice with slow-cooked ribs and the Milanese with a poached egg. One of the fancier places in Madrid for a nice meal. We had to make reservations since it looked like it was fully booked a lot of nights. On the phone they told us we could only have the table for an hour but when we got there and ate they didn't rush us out. One thing I always like to check is the bathrooms for cleanliness and they had spotless bathrooms. This is a little on the pricier side where it was around 20-30 euros for starters. We tried the broke egg with patatas starter which was very good. This is a classic spanish dish. My wife had the filet for dinner and I had the suckling lamb. Filet was cooked perfectly and tasted like good quality. The lamb had a unique flavor with the suckling aspect of it. I know suckling pig is popular but suckling lamb is a little funky. The meal was nice and it was comfortable in there. You will spend a pretty penny for the meal. The question is if it was worth it.... hmm... I personally am not dying to go back but it was good as a one shot deal. read more

The ambiance is classy and upscale, so I had high hopes for this place. I was underwhelmed. It may have been because we came as a group and had a prix-fixe menu. The only item I liked was the iberico pork cheeks dish. It tasted like it was stewed for a long time and the meat was very tender. 1 star off: The quinoa salad lacked flavor, as if there was no seasoning at all. It was sprinkled with a few cranberries for color, but sadly, that did not save the dish. 1 star off: The waiter at our table provided terrible service. We had some people with food allergies and he kept putting the allergic items in front of them. When asked for the plates to be changed, he forgot to return with a different dish. To start the meal we had an appetizer of bread, cheese, and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were delectable, the bread was light and fresh, and the cheese was succulent. For the entree I had filet mignon.sauted spinach, and whipped mashed potatoes. The steak was robust, the spinach was perfectly seasoned, and the potatoes were creamy. The food & service was heaven. Hands down the best food I ate in Madrid. Everything was delicious! From the perfectly cooked solomillo (sirloin) to the delectable lamb meatballs. I would return to Madrid just for those meatballs! So tender, juicy and flavorful. The sirloin is like no other sirloin you've ever had. I couldn't even tell what kind of cut the meat was since it was so tender; I didn't even need a knife. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, but they cooked it to a beautiful medium-rare, a little more on the rare side. Just perfect. I also had the milanesa steak, which is breaded, fried and topped with egg and truffle. I'm usually not a fan of fried, breaded steak, but this one was very good. For dessert I had a hazelnut cream-filled cake with some ice cream, which was very tasty. The service was outstanding, the decor lovely and the ambiance soothing. There was a woman with an incredible voice performing right by where I was sitting. She made the experience all the more enjoyable. This place is a must in Madrid. read more

But Here is the Bad News, what they charge for the food you get takes the Expression, "WAY-OVER-PRICED" to a whole new level. As we were having drinks, there was live music as well as flamenco dancers. We were able to get a table without having any reservations. Our seats had the perfect view and our dinner was delicious. Best restaurant in Madrid!!! The place itself is super sexy, the decor is elegant but has this sexy thing to it. The bar area is huge and full of light, plenty of seating around the bar area. Service was excellent. All of our servers were so kind, they suggested delicious items and were super eager to prepare anything or bring us anything extra. It was probably the best customer service we received in Madrid, I guess service is not a thing for many Spaniards. We ordered a bottle of wine which was delicious, a little bit higher priced than most of Spain prices. But it's probably the location and place. We shared lamb meatballs, which were these meatballs from heaven. They had this truffle and mushroom sauce which was to die for. The meat was tender and the lamb flavor was amazing. As starters, we had the specialty which is solomillo and the breaded steak with an egg on top. I ordered the breaded steak not thinking it was going to be breaded for some reason. So I was expecting this heavy, greasy, super fried steak and it was far from that. It was just a thin steak with light breading which gave the meat even more flavor. My only complaint, is the portion sizes of the sides. I eat regular to above average and I found the side to be extra small. We shared a hazelnut dessert which was good, but nothing out of the world. My mom recommended the rice pudding which I did not order. As I look back at the pictures I wish I was back. Will re-visit on another trip to Spain. read more

It's only been open a few months. The concept is quite brilliant. Beautiful interior, DJ, stunning bar, great cocktails, with a fine dining like atmosphere for dinner that includes live performances. After dinner, the place turns into a lounge/dance party until about 2-230 in the morning. Came for drinks and apps several times and the service was always on point and friendly. I would rate it a zero if I could. The location is nice, but that is it. First of all, the tuna starter which is a Tatel special is way too salty, second the asparagus daily special was incoherent and not good at all. We were recommended to share the specialty rice between four people and the rib portion was way too small and the rice was inedible since it was too salty. Additionally, a member of our party also ordered a fish was again too SALTY. The only normally salted thing was the jamón because it was not prepared there. Finally, we ordered dessert, but it was the wrong order since we ordered a chocolate tart, but we got a cheese tart. It was not a good experience. To top it all of the meal was 340 euros for five people with terrible service. You can get much better meals in Madrid with better service and better food for less money. To top it all of, the waiters counted the money left wrong and ran after us to demand money. It was a weird interaction in which the waiter realized they had counted wrong. In typical trendy fashion, took us forever to get seated even though tables were open. Why do you guys do this? You're not special. Doesn't make you look cool makes you seem dumb. Worst part of the meal was that after spending hundreds of dollars we had to return something that someone in our table had an allergy to. We did not touch it. The menu did not mention the allergic item. The restaurant quickly took it away but the idiot manager wanted us to still pay for it even though the menu did not mention that it came with a common allergen. Also found a hair on a plate of food.
