First of all, I apologize for not having better pictures. I was so excited to be able to something outdoors after all this quarentine time that the first thing I did was jumping into the water. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everyone here is wearing mask and disinfecting from pens to life vests. Affordable prices for 1 hour of fun. You can rent paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats and windsurfing. One of the best parts of this is that I only drove 30min out from Baltimore. The water is nice, not cold at all. Ultimate Watersports is an excellent place to get your outdoor adventure fix! The new location is super convenient to get to and to park. No entrance or parking fees! Rental and instruction costs are very reasonable. There are bathrooms and picnic tables on site to round out your day. Free lockers available too. We took a one hour SUP lesson and then took our boards out on our own for another hour. Angelina was an amazing teacher. Very patient and very good at explaining how to do everything. I highly recommend trying Stand Up Paddle-boarding at Ultimate Watersports. They will make you feel at ease and help you get up and paddling in no time! It's great for families, groups, couples or individuals. There are also other types of watercraft available. Life jackets provided. I will definitely be returning! Awesome experience. Great location with plenty of parking, a shaded picnic table area, playground set for kids, restroom, shower heads to clean your feet off, and a covered snack shack/ check in area. This place has all the accommodations and it was so easy and laid back. I was able to reserve 3 SUP's online in advance, only an hour before I wanted to go, on a Saturday in the summer. That's unheard of! And though it was "busy", it never got crowded on the water, and they have plenty of staff to get you out and through the process quickly. Super friendly and no hassle. Will definitely be back for kayaking or windsurfing sometime! read more

Ultimate Watersports was incredible. First, we loved the location in Middle River - easy to find, easy parking. The staff was so friendly and helpful in so many ways - helping to choose the right equipment for each of the 3 of us (and handling it at the water before and after our paddle), suggesting an anchor so we could hang out (so much fun btw!), great instruction for the newbie amongst us, info about where we might want to explore, and all the support we could have possibly needed. The water / the paddle was perfection. Also, there are picnic tables and shade (bonus!) and the bathrooms were super clean had A/C which was really a treat after a few hours on the water! Added bonus - free lockers. It was a really perfect experience and we ill be back, for absolute sure. Highly recommend. read more

I visited Ultimate Watersports this past Sunday to take a SUP lesson accompanied by an hour rental. The staff was all extremely helpful, nice and knowledgeable and my lesson was well worth the money. The location is on Hammerman Beach located in Gunpowder State Park. There is a $5 per person fee to get into the park, but once you are there, the water is impeccably clean and there are acres of coastline to swim in or relax on the beach. There are two 'nature trails' that are actually just small inlets that snake through the park that are too small for larger boats to enter, but are perfect for SUPs or kayaks, that are beautiful and filled with foliage and wildlife to observe. UWS rents all kind of equipment - Stand up Paddle boards, kayaks, Hobie sailbots, and windsurfing rigs and boards. I found the pricing for the paddle boards to be a bit on the high side ($25 for 1 hour, $75 for the day) especially when you can rent a kayak for $45 for the entire day, or even a sailboat for the day for $190. They have no competition that I know of in the area so I guess it's all supply and demand. That said, their equipment is top of the line, as they replace it every season, and they sell their used equipment for a significant discount at the end of the season. All in all, i highly recommend the SUP class, and will likely be taking the advanced class in the near future. read more

Teenager has been itching to go SUP, so on a friend's suggestion we went to the Dundee Creek location (instead of Hammerman). And although the "protective cove" didn't really help protect us from the wind on this particular day, it was def less crowded and we didn't have to pay per person entrance fee. The staff here was ridiculously kind and helpful, and before we knew it , we were on the water. My son could not manage to stay on the board, but we had a blast trying. If you have even considered SUP, I would highly recommend doing it read more

My first time at Ultimate Watersports did not disappoint. The staff and crew made renting a Hobiecat sailboat as easy as 1-2-3 and were polite and very attentive. They also a have a wide variety of other water related equipment. The well kept and modern equipment with the friendly and very helpful staff made my rental experience a true pleasure. I definitely would recommend to anyone interestend in (fresh water) catamaran sailing - they even have lessons available for you if needed. Prices are fair and reasonable but you'll need to pay a fee (per person) to enter the park they are located in. A great value and super way to spend a nice day down by the water. Kayaking 101 Lesson (Neub) The lesson was good. I felt more confident about kayaking after taking the lesson. The people were nice. They went over the basics but didn't "over" teach. I took the group class but there was only 1 other person so it was more like a private lesson. I may go back and rent again or take SUP lessons, but it's far away from me. read more

I rented a kayak for the day. Its pretty expensive in my opinion ($45). Fortunately I had a half off coupon. The people were nice. This rating is a reflection of value and bang for your buck. Rentals are expensive here, and there just isn't really any cool things to see whilst kayaking. The kayak trails are fairly lame for seeing any wildlife or interesting vegetation. read more

There is no way that this place should have 5 stars. I walked up to the desk and waited a whole minute before a skinny blond guy looked at me and asked something to the tune of "what do you want?". I was so taken back that I almost just left. Fortunately for the company I really wanted to get out on the water so I asked him about their rates. His answers all came while he was looking at the computer with a tone that said " you're an idiot for asking that" Again if it was any other business I would have immediately left and gone to a competitor. BEST SUMMER EXPERIENCE EVER! Our teenagers outgrew the community pool a few years ago and we were looking for something for them to do this summer. Purchasing the Season Pass gave us the best value and allowed us to experience it all, whenever we wanted, as often as we wanted. We have been kayaking, took sailing lessons, son loved fishing on the Dundee Creek. Kiddos have brought friends with them. This was a totally new experience for our family and our summer would have been dull/boring without it! The staff is super supportive of newbies! The instructors are knowledgeable and PATIENT. We learned a lot about the waterways of eastern Baltimore County. If you get the Ultimate Watersport Season Pass, buy the MD Park Pass for unlimited entry to Gunpowder State Park-Hammerman. AND I love the fact that they are open on the weekends thru September! As for me, the mom, I loved this summer experience. I kayaked by myself on numerous occasions at Dundee Creek. I loved watching my kiddos learn how to sail together. It was a good value for the money and we will return next summer! read more

Staff was very kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They offer unique, fun trips/packages/activities. Based on my experience (one trip) I recommend them. Please be aware - Ultimate Watersports seems to run on a skeleton administrative crew (not in itself a negative, but) this means you should contact them well in advance to assure a spot on a particular tour. I just had a one-of-a-kind fitness experience called FloYo (Floating Yoga) on a stand-up paddle board at Ultimate Watersports. We did a series of different yoga poses after paddling ourselves out to a remote and peaceful location on the bay. The yoga was challenging and the paddling was fun! Jessie was an amazing instructor who knows how to have a good time, but also work hard and help you connect with the environment around you. She finished the session with a reading about finding happiness and it really resonated with the group. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend the SUP FloYo to any beginner or intermediate yoga-lovers! In addition to a great time, I got a good workout in - I was sore the next day! read more

I love kayaking at Gunpowder State Park with Ultimate Watersports. I can't go back and kayak on the Potomac River. The location of this venue allows you to go into the waterways that meander through the marshes. You see wildlife and the water always feels like just the right temperature. The Dundee Creek entrance doesn't seem to have a park fee but the Hammerman entrance does (although, I could've completely missed it). It is $3/person for MD residents and $4/person for non-residents. I've always kayaked on the Hammerman side. The staff at Ultimate Watersports are friendly and helpful. Other types of water sport rentals and lessons are offered as well. read more

LOVE Ultimate Watersports!! All 3 locations are fantastic in different ways: Dundee Creek tends to be the least busy and most protected from wind, Hammerman Beach is a bit more challenging and boasts lots of wildlife, and Sunset Cove has relatively calm water and a built-in opportunity for beachside lunch/cocktail post row. My husband and I took a SUP lesson 3 years ago (which I would highly recommend before settling sail - you'll save a ton of time and aggravation for yourself) and have been hooked ever since. The staff is lovely and the owner is an absolute GEM. We decided to purchase SUPs for ourselves this year and opted for a set of used boards from Ultimate. They are in great condition and we are always well-taken care of. We will continue to spread our love of SUP with friends and bring them to Ultimate every time! read more

Have been here many times to rent catamarans in the past and always enjoyed it. Now they have something called "qualification" where you have to pass a test in order to take a boat out. The person qualifying me was quite rude and began asking me all kinds of questions in technical nautical terms that I did not understand and would not even explain it to me in plain English. It was a beautiful day wih perfect wind. I went out twice for 5 minutes each, did just fine, stayed clear of other crafts and vessels, able to steer and slow down without a problem, but each time I did not apparently do what the man in charge wanted to me to do and which he refused to explain. After I got back the 2nd time, he told me he couldn't let me go out. It's a small sail craft, and it's easy to maneuver, i's not rocket science and i shouldn't have to pass some complicated test, when I've done it plenty of times before. Sadly, I will NEVER return to this place. read more

Just got back from paddle boarding at Dundee Creek (no entrance fee to this side of the park). Dealt with absolutely amazing staff-- very kind and helpful. And the water and surrounding marsh areas were beautiful. Brought my dog (doggy life vests supplied and mandatory, which I really appreciated) and had a blast! Definitely recommend to others, dog owner or not. Truly a hidden gem in Baltimore with lovely people that work there to help you out! CJ explained the park and surrounding area, how wind levels affect the kayaking experience, and lots of other info...then we went to the lesson, where after his thorough instruction, I paddled off, with confidence, to the beautifull scenic waterway around the bend!
