We had a great time with Glen and Seray. Though it was a chilly morning, we barely noticed as we were enjoying the sail and conversation.

I went here with my wife, being new to the area, we wanted to see what it had to offer. We always enjoy Havre De Grace for its small town feel, so we thought we'd give this a whirl. We were the only people on the boat under 50, I'm almost positive of it. Nothing against older people, but it just wasn't my ideal dinner cruise. The eating area was really small and they reserve seats for some and not others, I still don't know why. We ended up launching early so the food wasn't ready for about 20-30 min into the ride. The captain told us to go up on the deck and they'd let us know when the food was ready. Eventually after a while we just went back down, with no announcement, to see half the people on the boat had already eaten. This was quite annoying. The food itself is catered. They bring a caterer on board and he serves it. The man they used when I was on the boat had a pony tail and didn't wear a hat... even around the food. I only point this out because I had not one, but two long stands of his hair in my food. Coming from a family that caters for a living, I tend to get a little set off by little things like that. I have to give credit where credit is due though because the other food (that didn't have the hair in it) was pretty good. The steak was well prepared and seasoned. The crab cakes had a good portion of meat in them and the rice was your basic pilaf. Salads are also served. It is buffet style with a small carving station for the beef, so you can get multiple plates and really get your money's worth. Along with the food, there is a cash bar. Pretty limited selection and they have on bartender who is slow as molasses. I waited in line almost 20 minutes to get a beer behind 3 people. Beer is actually pretty cheap for a dinner cruise, at around 3 bucks a bottle. Selection is limited to most mass market beers. Make sure you bring cash, because the only way they take card is with an old swipe machine. After dinner, you go up on the deck which is a "track" shape with seats in the middle facing both sides of the boat. The seats are cheap little plastic things and very uncomfortable. Standing at the railings was preferred, at least for me. The trip along the water was, well, underwhelming. You pretty much see everything you can see off of 95 or 40 and there's a lot of boat traffic around you. You end up passing the quarry and a couple of water front condos, then you turn around and see the sides of rock faces one more time. I was pretty disappointed, although the sunset was nice over the water. This boat cruise is pretty expensive, and honestly I don't think it is worth it. The boat is just too small and the cruise itself isn't anything to write home about. It is nice to support a family owned operation in a small town, but I would only recommend this if you're a little older and have about 100 bucks to waste.

The owners, crew and staff were super friendly and the food was good. A small flat-bottomed riverboat propelled by a functioning sternwheel, the Lantern Queen is a charming venue for a cocktail hour, birthday party or any informal dinner event. The owner invited us to bring our toddler into the wheelhouse so he could man (boy?) the helm and sound the authentic steam whistle. To top it off they prepared a small certificate marking this accomplishment. Captain Steve really hit it off with our boy and they blew bubbles together from the top deck. There is space on that deck for dancing or just enjoying the view of the beautiful Susquahenna River. We loved it and heartily recommend this quality entertainment venue.

As we entered, the tables on the main deck were arranged to fit party groups of either 6 or 8 guests and a table for 2. The buffet food was arranged at the front of the dining area and the musician (acoustic guitar) next to it. He did a wonderful job of singing and playing both guitar and harmonica. Upstairs, they had tall tables with a few metallic stools. So happy the room was air-conditioned. Serve yourself was near immediate. Bar and drinks were upstairs on the observation deck. Soft drinks and tea were included. The accommodations up there were tall tables and a few metallic stools To the food: The assorted greens salad was fresh with your choice of salad dressings. Then rolls with real butter, followed with spaghetti with meatballs and a pasta with shrimp and parmesan, and chicken parm cutlets. Potato salad and a caprese salad of sliced mozzarella and tomatoes topped with a balsamic dressing. There was enough for seconds. Close to the end of the cruise, they brought out some desserts that looked like magazine quality. Cheesecake, chocolate layered cake, carrot cake, and lemon bars. All were very rich, and nothing was left. The staff could not have been nicer and very efficient. It's a really great crew. There is plenty of free parking. One note, this is not a wheelchair accessible due to a series of steps.
