There are benches but not a lot of shade, so we used an umbrella to create shade for the family elder who only wanted to watch. This was a great outing!

We rented a home right on the Chesapeake and i couldn't find anywhere that would deliver kayaks and stand up paddle boards to me until i found Capital SUP. Kevin was terrific he drove up in a big van took out 3 beautiful clean colorful tandem kayaks and carried them far down to our dock with life jackets and paddles. We had so much fun in and out of the water with our families. ...and did I say the price was so much better than going anywhere and renting even for the day. I have been going to this business for years and have now been to all 3 locations. The people working here are very friendly and helpful. The location of Quiet Waters is awesome, very serene place. A nice little walk from the parking lot about 10 mins surrounding by beautiful trees and wineberries. Also cool that they have classes and yoga SUP. This was one of the highlights of my trip. They offer kayaks (single and tandem), paddleboards, and more. For $25, I rented a single kayak for an hour and enjoyed exploring some more of the Hammerman beach shoreline and the bay. (You can rent for longer than a hour as well, but that's all I had time for yesterday!) You have to pay to enter the park itself ($3 for state residents, $5 for out of state residents), but you can enjoy the park and then also rent a kayak or a paddleboard! Great way to explore some of the bay!

My wife and I have…read morebeen looking for new outdoor activities during the summer of COVID and while exploring Hammerman beach we saw Eastern. Prices on their website looked very reasonable so we decided to give it a try. Renting a Hobie Cat from here is extremely easy. I had to pass a quick check out and then it was $40 to rent a Hobie Wave for an hour. There's no setup required, you just push it off of the beach and you're good to go. I'd never sailed a catamaran before but they are fun little boats and the Gunpowder River is a very nice area to tool around in. One thing that I wish Eastern would do is make their website/facebook page a little more helpful. The first time we tried to do a cat rental we came here on a Friday evening, only to learn that they only rent the Hobies on Saturdays and Sundays. I'd tried calling their phone number a couple of times as well but it always went straight to voicemail. I'm glad that I discovered them though and my wife and I are already discussing getting a season pass next summer. Edit: Within a few minutes of my review posting I was contacted by the owner to check what phone numbers I had called. Apparently they also do rent the Hobies during weekdays in September this year, not sure what the source of the confusion there was. Still, I was extremely impressed by the prompt response and attention to good customer service.

The kayaks are already lined up at the launch point until the day is over. Go play, then after you return your rental gear, go pay. The Susquehanna River is a gentle river...the water is more like that of a bay or a lake. There are beaches and islands to explore. There are marinas and and docks so there is some traffic areas with boaters and jet-skiers, but it isn't daunting...just stick to the river bank until you're comfortable...you will be paddling in the middle of the river, soaking up the view like a pro before you even realize it! The staff is really, really nice, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend spending the day on the Susquehanna and Shank's Mare. note: the launch point is directly across the shop where there is public parking, picnic tables, docks, fishing, duck feeding, etc.

An amazing day trip if you live in Baltimore, DC area, or even the Eastern Shore. Kent Island is easy to get to and close to a ton of restaurants so you can make an entire afternoon out of it. Karla was especially amazing because she let us know before the day of that the waters were going to be choppy due to the wind so we were warned about it being a little more difficult. Once we arrived, she took us through an introductory class to teach us the fundamentals about paddleboarding and form. She impressed upon us that the water was not very deep so that we weren't nervous going out on the choppy waters! She then came with us to take pictures of us standing up and a group shot all together! She also followed up with a thank you email and attached the pictures she took -- now if that isn't unbelievable service, I don't know what is!! I would (and will) visit her again as it was an amazing day on the water even if it was almost 100 degrees out!!!
