It's kid-oriented: climbers, a slide, swings ... I cant believe i'm the first to post a photo of the ride-on seagull. It must be pretty new. I did read that this park is continuing to be developed. The next phase is supposed to be completed next summer, but someone needs to come check on the already-completed part because it has fallen into massive disrepair in a seemingly short time. There are no swings on the swingset. There's no water in the water feature (small brook/pond), leaving exposed drainage pipes in a sandy pit. There's a large staircase to nothing. I know this area is used for a lot of events, and I hate the idea of tourists and locals coming across these things and thinking that Baltimore is a, to quote the president, "rat-infested shit-hole." Baltimore is so much better than this. Who is in charge of this project?People, especially children, could get hurt here. It's such a bad look for the Inner Harbor.

It went in on a Thursday. Diver came out on a holiday, at their normal rate, and assured me he could find it. I thought he was smoking something or deluded, because it was lost in 24 feet of water in the infamously filthy (yet getting better thanks to some environmental efforts) Baltimore Inner Harbor. He was in the water for maybe half an hour before he surfaced. "Is this it?" He asked as he handed my ring to me. Thoroughly professional. Personable. Efficient. Reasonable rate. We really enjoy visiting Maryland and finding interesting things to see while we're there. We had…read morewalked around Oregon Ridge and one of the naturalists recommended Soldiers Delight so we decided to try it out. We enjoy the variety of terrain like how there are some rocky places, some water crossings, some open, grassy areas, and also so tree-covered areas. Make no mistake, this isn't difficult, rugged hiking, but it's enjoyable and scenic. We also enjoy visiting the nature center and, especially, seeing Effy and TV-1 and TV-2, the turkey vultures. The naturalists here are fabulous and we have learned so much from them about the animals that are at the nature center and also those in the wild. This is a great place to spend a few hours walking, seeing some unique topography, visiting the animals, and then getting ice cream at the corner store or better yet, great frozen treats from nearby Original Hawaiian Snowball.

But every time I come to Sandy Cove, I don't need to be uncomfortable physically, and focus my mental energy on retreating. The hotel rooms are great - they're a comfortable place to sleep at night. During the day, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Chesapeake Bay by the fireplace or while eating your meal. There's a large number of options for food, and they are able to cater to specific allergies/intolerances. The food is buffet style, so you won't go hungry! In fact, you may not even be hungry by the time the next meal rolls around. There's also an indoor and outdoor pool, mini golf, shuffleboard, a tennis court, and other things I'm probably forgetting. During the warmer months, there are lots of other activities set up too like kayaking on the water. I look forward to every time I get a chance to come here. The only thing to remember is to time your drive to avoid traffic since there's a lot of time on 95.

The rooms are modest, but still comfortable and the facilities, while not fancy, are always clean and in working order. The staff were polite and helpful. The only thing was just that the food selection was ok. There were strict hours for meal times, so if you missed the common meal times, you won't get full meals and the cafes were rarely open (they still do have some sundry shops open with some snacks though). Overall, great place for retreats to relax and unwind. I cannot wait to come back here again.

This park is HUGE! And I love me a good park…read more I've been here a few times for road races, but never to just check out the park itself. Since retiring, I've been hitting up every outdoor space on my list. I came to walk the trail(s), but one visit is simply not enough. I see that now. I'll definitely have to come back on my bike to get the lay of the land. Random, but everytime I come to this park, my GPS takes me on a tour of the neighborhood when I can see the park is RIGHT THERE. Anyway, I came during the week and parked on a side road inside the park. Again, I'm not really familiar with the best place to park to access whatever it is I'm trying to access. I started walking on the trail and was actually hoping I didn't get lost (even though my Garmin can take me back to my starting point). I asked a woman where to go and she directed me to 'the loop'. The loop will work for today! Apparently the loop was closed due to construction. There's work being done on the water tanks (or something like that). But the loop is open, and it's a bit over 1 mile. It's smooth, and I'm already plotting to try it on my bike. But there's absolutely NO SHADE on this portion, so plan accordingly. From the loop I could see the pool, tennis courts, and basketball courts, so I made my way there, via a trail. Again, the park is huge! From my research, it's the third oldest established park in the United States! Whoa! And, it covers 745 acres of land. Like I said, you'll have to come more than once to see all there is to see. That includes the Baltimore Zoo, which is inside the park. I'll be back on my bike for more recon.

The park is well kept, the grounds were nicely cut and preserved. There were dears out in the middle of the day, there were pavilion areas with picnic tables , trash cans and port of John's (bathroom), I will definitely be visiting again. I noticed that there were working in a project around the reservoir and I can't wait to see it .
