The facility is great and the location is even better. It's a little weird at first, having to drive through a strip mall parking lot to get to the marina, but that feeling quickly goes away when you realize that you have everything you need within walking distance of your boat slip. A Walmart, McDonalds ,Farm Store Chicken, Dunkin Donuts, Rita's Ice, plenty of good restaurants , Advance Auto parts store, and a True Value. It couldn't get any better. The staff are incredible, the amenities are plentiful (free ice). Lets not forget the Bengies Drive-In. Bottom line, it's the place if you need a marina.

I am so belated in this review, as I did my pool sessions back in March with Thor. I am reminded…read morethat it was still outstanding because I am headed to YayScuba with my partner to manage his bottles now. I suggested he call them because I had such a positive experience and then realized I have only been sharing that with friends and family instead of in formal review. I was lucky enough to be Thor's solo student during my sessions and he did everything possible to make me comfortable. All of the skills were very personalized and he is very experienced and knowledgeable. Even more important, he was an excellent teacher. He was very patient and was quick to repeat skills that I misunderstood or was struggling with. The scuba world is very male dominated, but I was never the only female in the pool nor was I ever made to feel less capable than the male students doing a refresher course. Thor made the skills fun and he was meticulous about making sure I understood and could safely execute each one. I cannot recommend the shop or Thor enough to anyone starting out, but especially to women entering the water.

We have been long time slip holders here and are friends with a select few of the regulars here…read more The new owner Tom has been making cosmetic up dates here at the expensive of the slip holders. The live a boards in this Marina causes problems because they believe they have the authority to police the marina. Tom has raised the slips every year he has owned this Marina and if a slip holder asks why Tom becomes defensive and yells. However the docks and piers still need repairs and his main concerns are new bathrooms which are not cleaned or stocked on a regular basis. Tom is in for a surprise when he finds out how many of his long time slip holders are looking for a "new marina to call home"

To sum things up, these guys are dishonest and unwilling to take responsibility for something that…read morehappened to my boat while under their possession. As far as the details... I purchased a boat that had been maintained at this marina for several years and intended to continue maintenance here since it was recommended to me. I noted everything that was broken and took it to the marina to be serviced. This included small details such as the water pump, live well, and port side docking and head compartment lights that were out. After having my boat for almost 3 weeks, I picked up the boat and saw the compass at the helm was completely cracked through that the liquid had drained and made it non-functional. I immediately called that day to report and simply asked it to be fixed since it occurred under their possession. There was no acceptance of responsibility nor willingness to fix. When I spoke with Al, instead of taking responsibility, he blamed me and insinuated it was already broken when they received it. If I went through the entire boat in the detail that I did, how is it possible that I did not see a broken compass right in front of my face?
