i just wanted to share my expierence of this thrift store. I do not do many reviews but when i experience a place that is as outstanding as this I had to give it a 5 star. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ultimate treasures an antique thrift store that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door, I was transported back in time, surrounded by an incredible array of vintage items and timeless treasures. The store is beautifully curated, with each piece thoughtfully displayed to highlight its unique charm and history. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just someone who appreciates the beauty of antiques, there's something here for everyone. I was particularly impressed with the selection of vintage furniture, which ranged from elegant Victorian pieces to mid-century modern gems. One of the standout aspects of Ultimate is the knowledgeable and friendly staff. They are passionate about antiques and eager to share their expertise. Me and my wife accidentally stumbled here to see what this place offered. The man at the front told us that nothing here is priced but everything here is negotiable which I thought was pretty odd for the store concept. Basically you're just playing Pawn Stars haggling with the man at the front (probably without any experts involved.) Don't get me wrong this store got plenty of business and customers throughout our visit here. The store itself is chaos and unorganized. In the men's restroom it's absolutely awful because they have stuff thrown and shoved all over the bathroom and around the corners it seems like it's definitely a fire hazard just walking around. One of the weird things I found was a checkbook from many years ago. Nobody should be selling that that thing needs to be sent to the fire. I've had more organized experiences inside a dumpster. Let me be clear: I did not come to Ultimate Treasures expecting Nordstrom. I came expecting a thrift store. What I got was a fever dream of accumulated junk stacked so haphazardly that I genuinely feared for my physical safety navigating the aisles. I've seen episode hoarders with better merchandising instincts. But the real star of this show -- the main event -- is Martin and his absolute, iron-willed refusal to put a price on a single item in the store. Not one. I picked up a chipped mug. No price. I looked at a wobbly bookshelf held together by optimism and one remaining screw. No price. I examined a lamp that appeared to have survived a house fire. Mysteriously, shockingly -- no price. Now, some people call this "the treasure hunt experience." I call it a man who simply does not want to do his job. Pricing your inventory is, and I cannot stress this enough, the bare minimum of running a store. It is step one. It is so foundational to the concept of retail that the ancient Mesopotamians figured it out. Martin has not. What this means in practice is that you must carry every item you're remotely interested in up to Martin himself, like some kind of medieval peasant presenting goods to a lord, and then wait while he gazes upon your selection and decides -- based on absolutely nothing visible to you -- what it costs. There is no system. There is no logic. There is only Martin. The store smells like your grandmother's basement if your grandmother had also stored a car engine in there. Items are dusty, crammed together, and many appear to have been placed on the shelf during the Clinton administration and never touched since. I left empty-handed, slightly dusty, mildly irritated, and completely unsurprised that the word "treasures" is doing enormous heavy lifting in that store name. Zero stars. Not because I'm being dramatic -- but because the option exists and Martin has truly earned it. read more

The problem with ultimate treasures EstateSales is Martin... This man is going to destroy your business. He's rude. He's mean. He's ignorant. He's hung over. Think of the very worst type of person to run an estate sale and that's Martin. Whatever you do... Do not hire ultimate treasures to conduct your estate sale. This is a warning. They don't even put their name in the listing because people stopped coming. You wouldn't believe how rude this guy Martin is. You just wouldn't believe it until you see it. Place is a "dump" We walked in and the gentleman said nothing is priced. We negotiate everything. We found a few things and the women behind the register tossed out a price. I said too much, can you toss in the wine and bourbon glass I was holding? This is a fun place to browse and there is a lot to sift through. A lot a lot. I found my quirky ladies here, so far I've framed 3. The staff is very approachable and friendly. It's worth it to check back every couple weeks since there's so much inventory. read more

My fiancé and I love Ultimate Treasures!! We have come here many times for furniture pieces we need and Martin and his crew always give us great prices. The pieces we have bought are all solid wood and the prices for each were all super reasonable. My fiancé has also bought Christmas items here, as well and lawn and garden equipment. I have found knick knacks that I've loved as well. The store is huge and everytime we go, they have more and more items to choose from. You're sure to find something at Ultimate Treasures. This place is large, tidy, and full of stock. However, their use of "thrift" in their description (as in the sign outside) is rather misleading because the prices are very high. This is either a vintage store masquerading as a thrift shop, or if it's truly a thrift shop, it needs to reconsider its prices. read more

This business runs estate sales where they post multiple pictures of valuable or collectable items only to tell customers that these items aren't for sale when they show up and attempt to purchase them. I actually witnessed the man running the sale remove items from an older woman's bag. When she asked why, he simply said "No no no. Not for sale". When she pressed him, and brought the sale pictures to his attention, he stopped responding, continued to remove items and just stared at the floor. read more

NEGATIVE STARS is not an option My experience with using Ultimate Treasures Estate Sales LLC was a true rip off - terrible. Unprofessional in every way, a big problem was managing the sale itself. Instead of making money I actually lost money from the sold items and the total sales amount received for them. They sold big ticket items including a 30 ft ladder that was Not for Sale, a drill press and a Dooney Burke purse among many more items, yet the total sales only came out to $415.00, it doesn't add up (were they giving stuff away?) They did not lay items out like the large volume of books and clothes we had so people could actually look through - they were left out in xl bags so items were not visible and not easily accessible. They were scheduled to do a 3 day sale (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) they only did Friday, notifying me Friday that they will not be continuing, thus not fulfilling what they originally told me was planned. Martin the owner and Andrea the person doing the sale are extremely rude, terrible customer service and don't care about the customer at all. I've seen negative reviews (unfortunately after I hired them) and Martin's responses were extremely disrespectful and actual name calling like a very immature person lashing out when hearing something they don like. It will be quite interesting to see the response I receive from this review. They presented themselves very well which is why I moved forward with them and was looking forward to a positive experience with at least good results - I cannot tell you how very disappointing of an experience it was. Unfortunately it makes Estate Sales in general being performed as "professionals" look like a scam and not worth it. It ruins it for the good ones. Staff at Schaumburg sale on May 1 was pushy, rude. Nothing is merchandised. Unclear which items were for sale or were not. NOTHING was priced. They have no idea what items should sell for. They pulled prices out of the air. Everybody that I saw at the sale walked out - they were angry and disgusted. Absolutely terrible estate sales! Rude people working. Stopped at their estate sale in Schaumburg. No organization or prices anywhere. Boxes stacked all over and are forced to try to look through piles of stuff. While attempting to rummage through things I was told "you need to leave this room so ther customers can come in". I had a few things set aside, that I left without purchasing after that. Left a review on Google reviews and the owner responded by calling me cheap. Seems like they don't care about selling items at their estate sales. Don't bother buying or selling with these people. read more

At the suggestion of the video posted by Ultimate Treasures, I am posting a review. I haven't been since they moved but I will say when they were in countryside I went in a few times. Nothing is marked with a price so they can randomly give you a price on the spot. These prices have risen over time to the point where it is more expensive than a thrift store and less organized. They say you can negotiate but when you do they get super aggressive in tone so don't bother. They act like the customer is stupid. Also the video where the owner slaps and punches the customer that he doesn't like it really stupid. read more

The owner is pure garbage. He sits on his oversized bottom (cell phone in hand) with his distended, hanging and exposed belly and is rude, condescending and insulting to customers. He had the nerve to claim how much an item was "going for" on eBay. Hey genius, list it on eBay then!!!! BUT he won't because he's too lazy. He won't even wrap the fragile, overpriced and very easily attainable items found everywhere else for less. He just motions like a blob towards the couch behind him to let you know that you now work there and that's where the wrapping paper is. What an embarrassment. My condolences to your family. He's a gelatinous blob that won't take the initiative to list, pack and ship. His MO is what he thinks is a witty response that ends in an insulting manner. The service was awful. We went in just to see what they had and really found nothing we were interested in except a model airplane purely because it looked cool and a photo of a military airplane from the 90s. We asked the owner on a price of the model before finding the photo and he said $20. Which wasn't bad but we were told that if we by more we could bundle. So after finding the photo we went back to him and asked for a total. His response was $10 for the photo and that he has to look up what the model is going for. We asked about his initial offer of $20 and he said it's not for sale. So a place with no price tags can't even honor an offer that they gave us. Who does that??? read more

Stopped in looking for a dresser for my daughters room. The owner was very kind in explaining the process and then we just looked around. We found the perfect dresser among lots of great options. I would NOT recommended coming here. I love thrifting and good finds and for the mess that was in there I did NOT expect the prices to match other, better, maintained stores like goodwill where you can try on the clothes. I grabbed a pair of jeans from a bin labeled $1 and was charged $5.40 at the counter because they were quote "jeans". The lack of organization and upselling is disgusting, save yourself the trip of coming here and just go to goodwill bins or something. read more

The place is a mess, but that didn't deter me from looking for a bargain. When we entered the store the man said there was nothing more than $20, including furniture. (Except for jewelry) I thought... Awesome! If big pices of furniture are $20, other stuff must be priced great too. I had an a medium sized SS saucepan,a basket, a jacket & robe, a small wood st of nativity people, a candle holder and 3 old, dirty, pitiful dolls that I felt sorry for (lol). So I got to the checkout and asked the man if he'd take $15? He said no. I asked what if I took these couple of things out, could I get the rest for $15? He got mad and started yelling at me, took the stuff from me and said he'd sell it to someone else! It was loud, abrupt and made no sense to me. So I just walked away and he started telling whoever would listen.... " I can't stand these resellers and I know them when I see them! Does she think I'm stupid!?" Wow! Nope, I'm not a reseller. He also told me I should go shop at the dollar tree where I belong. Never again. I'm sorry I wasted my time. It was crazy. P.S. there are no prices on anything and the women's bathroom is also part of/open to the donations dock with men in and out of it. So that was weird. My husband and I went to UT to find two different types of dressers and found exactly what we were looking for. We had prices in our heads what we would be willing to pay and he said it before we could even offer. Delivery charge was reasonable and prompt, they were friendly and professional. In my opinion the Price on the item I asked about was way too high but that's not the point. Point is that I hate estate sales where they don't take the time and effort to price things. I have been shopping with Ultimate Treasures for about two years since they opened their store in Countryside. I have been able to find wonderful furniture, artwork and decor for my home and garden on my restricted budget!! Martin, Diane and Josh are wonderful. I don't believe any of the negative reviews I read here-they have always given me great prices on quality merchandise. I was recently in the Downers Grove store and witnessed many customers enjoying the place. It is great to see young couples starting to furnish a new home with quality furniture and housewares without having to break the bank. People like me really enjoy coming here to see what's new!
