I called the store as soon as I left and told Ellen that the way she handled this was inappropriate. She told me to return to the shop the next day and she would give me a $20 store credit. This is a screenshot of my timestamped email sent at 950am the next day 10 mins before the store opened. I entered the store at 10:03am and my shoes were on the sales rack marked at $30. These people are wild and their own cameras and my time stamped evidence prove it. These con artists really took my shoes, made me leave the store barefoot. Offered me a $20 store credit after I called and complained and then had the AUDACITY to have my shoes on the sale rack for $30 Even when presented with evidence that these were my shoes they tried to argue that they weren't because they were in like new condition. The woman who did all of this was the assistant manager Ellen. Mind you, I asked multiple times to see their cameras and to fill out an incident report before I left the store barefoot which they REFUSED. When I called the police Ellen REFUSED to give me the store address and kept telling me to hang up the phone. Also, as of 6/28, the website to the not for profit they claim proceeds support is invalid.

That same shirt was $16.99 brand new and selling for $4.99 at Goodwill. It is t like the used clothing is curated to justify the pricing. It's all low end brands and most of the items are heavily used. Granted I am a knowledgeable thrifter but it was crazy to see how heavily used and overpriced the items were. I understand there is overhead and it's a charity but $15 for a pair of average worn pants, no tags at a thrift store is crazy to me. Maybe online people will spend that, but an online shopper is different than a thrift store shopper. It almost feels like a consignment store, not a thrift store anymore. It's a cute shop in a cute location, and I'll still stop in for the thrill of it, but I don't expect save a dollar anymore. The donations are impeccably checked for cleanliness, chips, holes and working order. There are some awesome deals to be had. He will bring magic and merriment to our home each holiday season starting next year (my husband wouldn't let me have my present early, or Santa would be proudly on display this year too lol). Everything I looked at was in good condition, especially considering how old some of the items were. I told them no, but then two staff members continued following me around, demanding that I pay for it and threatening to call the police. Their behavior was very intimidating, and I ended up crying in front of them while asking them to stop treating me that way. I truly felt profiled and discriminated against during the entire situation. Afterward, I posted a Google review and tried many times to contact the manager, but my calls never resolved anything. Eventually, their lawyer contacted me and asked me to remove the review, saying they would have the staff go through training. However, that did not resolve the harm that was done, because the experience left me traumatized.

But I knew it was meant to be when I scored the last long flowy skirt (made in Italy ok!) in my size. So if you're looking for a nice & unique gift for kids, your mother, girlfriend, etc., this is a good place, but of course don't leave here without buying something for yourself!
