Once inside, I was disappointed. Maybe it was the "longing to get inside" but once inside it was less than I anticipated. Even with the 50% off, I found absolutely nothing to be a bargain and took nothing home.

Happily it was still open (hours weren't anywhere to be found online, but I found a sheet in the store snd added them here!) and we had some time to roam around the small two story space which is packed with goodies! If you've lost your marbles, this is the place to look for them; bottles and jars full can be found all over the shop! Along with items as diverse as a lady's plumed riding hat, artistic miniature figures, a lot of classic bar gear, vintage radios, classic instruments from makers like Fender and Gibson, and so much more. If you like tiny things, the owner has boxes behind the counter, divided out into categories (political etc). The owner, John, was a fun fellow to chat with. Be prepared to pay cash; Uncle Bubs across the street does have an ATM! My friend did find a unique metal clarinet, including its original case and a stand, for $65. Prices were fairly reasonable overall for the things I looked at. Items do apparently move quickly here; someone stopped in while we were shopping to ask about a typewriter that was recently there and it had since sold. So if you see something you like, better jump on it! Overall, definitely worth dropping in! I would certainly check back on a future trip to that side of town.

I found exactly what I was looking for - some prints for the kitchen - and I struck gold. Three botanical prints, beautifully framed for just $95. The volunteers were friendly, helpful and more than gracious. I will look forward to frequenting this store for more treasures.

This is the resale shop that benefits The Wellness House- a not-for-profit organization that…read moreprovides families and individuals with the tools needed to meet the challenges of everyday life after a cancer diagnosis. The Courtyard is staffed almost entirely by volunteers, with proceeds directly supporting Wellness House. I was expecting something very different. These pieces in here are not only incredibly expensive, but also caught somewhere between old and not old enough. There are absolutely some antique pieces here that are stunning. There are also pieces in here that are outdated (not in the cool way). While I've gotten the occasional "hello and welcome in", none of the staff is overly friendly... which is odd because everyone at The Wellness House ARE friendly and inviting. I wanted to love this place, but it feels like their target market is old and upscale. It also feels like this is a project kept going by retired interior designers. Perhaps a change in the friendly, inviting atmosphere as well as more moderately priced pieces? That's the marketing person in me and clearly not what The Courtyard is going for. (So what are they going for?)

This far exceeded my expectations! The store just goes on and on and on - there are multiple areas with different sellers, and different promotions all the time! I ended up purchasing from three different sellers and all had a different deal (ranging from 10-20% off). Only one had the advertised deal, so it was a nice surprise while checking out. From a large alcohol-related collection, to bookends and books, to trains, toys and more - this a great trip to nostalgia. Take your time and enjoy the trip!

On tv show you see people getting awesome things for very cheap, but I've never experienced it, that is until now. This place is absolutely amazing! This place is exceptionally dirty, unorganized, and has no rhyme or reason, and I wouldn't have it any other way! It is a thrifters dream. Don't wear something nice, you will get dirty. If you have allergies, take a Claritin before hand. It is worth a visit, trust me! They have furniture, China, glassware, lamps, art, kitchen stuff, old nuts/bolts/fittings, old tools, and more. They have a little bit of everything. It's a labyrinth of small paths, dead ends, strange rooms, all full to the ceiling with stuff, literally stuff hanging from the ceiling.

From the lady I talked to on the floor to the folks at the register, very nice customer service! I did encounter a number of times in the clothing area that clothing was in the wrong size area. Whether another customer had stuck it there or it was put there originally, don't know, but it was enough to be noticeable. The housewares areas were very tidy in some sections but then bursting at the seams in other areas (toys, holiday). Don't forget to look for the colored tag that's on discount!
