Don't pick up anything off the shelves as your going to accidentally break something else!! All the shelves are just stuff put on top of stuff and why doesn't it sell because they doubled their price! No more vintage clothes?? At a thrift store!! Wanted an 80's - 2000's party dress none here. No funky unique clothing here! Looks more like a kohl's clothing rack! All more modern clothing but at almost retail price for USED clothing!! $12.99 a used sweater - No thanks! And they don't sell pajamas? Why I have no idea!! I need some warmer sleeping lounge pants. $8.99 here - brand new at Walmart - yup $8-10 range!! And the music? Felt like I was at the Aria hotel in Vegas? It's faced pace dance music. While I am browsing and shopping? Isn't the idea to keep us in the store longer and not feel rushed? Maybe they know that the younger crowd and grandmas shops there but separately. But us young people shop there because we want the same stuff grandma's want at thrift pricing. Oh and the cashier changed the price on me. Twice! First item It had 2 tags at $1.99 and she said no I priced this item this morning at 4.99? I was like what!! Then A handmixer had a tag of $1.99 in a really weird spot! but she ripped the tag and said it should be $3.99. These tags once removed leave a residue so people don't take the tags off and reduce the price!! I should have asked for a manger! I declined the 2 items because you guessed it a new handmixer at Walmart is $7! Rather but it new and know it works and it's new!! And then she didn't like the fact that I got $4 plate at $2 because it was the color of the day? So what's the problem here I was going to ask? SMH Goodwill has lost its way! Of all the Goodwill locations this one is by far the best one. Never have I ever gone to a thrift store and it had everything I needed and in amazing condition! They have a dressing room thankfully and their selection is immense. I purchased a peacoat which was really hard to find! Even a Tommy Bahama Shirt at a bargain with a Christmas sweater! I purchased some other stuff but saved myself hundreds compared to going to a big box store! It's pricy compared to other thrift stores but it was worth it read more

The cashier (seems store manager ) change the price in stuffed animal which is $.99 without tag to $1.99 at the cashier.

Normally the shelves are grouped by kind but not in this store, items are randomly placed in a very disorganized manner.

I don't like Black Friday, and I sure as heck don't like Grand Openings. But when I got the flyer in the mail for Goodwill Plainfield's grand opening on June 14, you bet your ass I made it my mission to be there at 8:00 a.m. when the doors opened. After all, I was already off work that day, and other than going for a run, I had no plans. OK, so I wasn't at the doors at 8:00 a.m. I was actually just waking up. I got there at about 9:00 a.m., and I could not believe how packed the parking lot was - cars in the Meijer lot, cars along the curb? This is a thrift store. There were several dudes in suits near the door and checkouts. They looked really out of place, and I really have no idea what purpose they served. There was also a DJ, and listening to Selena's "Bidi Bom Bom" or whatever the hell it's called, was irritating. Why haven't I heard Macklemore in a thrift store YET? Anyway, this store is much bigger than the Naperville store and is comparable to the Bolingbrook store in size. So there is enough room to get through the aisles with a shopping cart and if someone else was browsing. There were a lot of juniors size clothing, which you normally don't see. I went to the fitting room with 17 items, but the girl told me the limit was 10. I don't mind limits, but seeing as she didn't count them, and there isn't really a safe place to keep my items aside, AND I've never been held to a limit at other Goodwill shops, this was mildly annoying. She was just doing her job, I get it. I left with 5 or 6 tops all in very good condition, most of which were Kohl's or JcPenney labels like ELLE and Nicole Miller. The same applies with grandma tops and Target's Mossimo overstock, there's plenty of it. The best part of this Goodwill is that I could walk here from my house. The worst part, for now, is the long lines and Men in Black at the front doors. I'm sure I will be back. read more

I've had my eye on this new Goodwill for months now, and finally found the time to stop by! This is a great spot. Very new feeling, spacious - with room to grow. The parking lot was packed, but the inside still felt like we had room to maneuver around. Overall, the selection of clothing seemed the same as other locations - with the exception of dresses, which had half the rack of normal stores. Odd! Also, I was caught by surprise at the wall of shoes - it was a very small selection, as well. I have a feeling that this location will only grow. The staff were all friendly and fantastic as well - something I usually don't receive at other Goodwill locations. read more

This Goodwill is spacious as other reviewers have said, but that doesn't make up for the lack of certain things. If you're looking for any clothing smaller than 4T, this place is horrible. Any children's clothing for sizes newborn-3T are all piled into one 3 foot by 3 foot shallow tub. Piss poor if you ask me. When I went, the miniscule "Children's Clothing" tub was about 50% full of adult underwear and junior sized pants. Now I totally understand, customers are slobs and probably dumped stuff somewhere it shouldn't have been, but it was very disappointing. Also of course any thrift store is hit or miss, so I will probably try them once more. Half off days are Sundays and Mondays, only certain tag colors. Kind of lame considering I used to live near one that had 50% off the entire store days every other weekend. All in all, just okay. read more

This location is my favorite by far. Employees are always friendly and do a great job at keeping the store clean. Their prices are amazing and always cheap. I get lucky every time I come here and find a great selection of video games all for cheap and always find a ton of clothes for cheap as well. read more

A lot of parking which is nice. Prices are ok-one time I saw a coach watch that they were asking more than the actual original price on. ( really?!?)Baby clothes are a steal at $1.50 a piece ( some brand new) but they are piled in a bin that's hard to sort through. I never walk out empty handed. read more

I've been to the Joliet, Bolingbrook, and New Lenox Goodwill locations and this location in Plainfield is the best out of them all by far. I stopped in on a whim on a Sunday morning right when they had opened for the day and ended up leaving with 2 pairs of gently worn size 7 women jeans and a super cute (and basically new) sweater. This is the only Goodwill location I've been to where the items are ACTUALLY gently worn and modern and not just stereotypical odds and ends pulled from someone's closet a decade ago. My total was under 15 bucks for those items, I will be back for sure! I would recommend going in the morning when they open up, as I left the crowds were getting busier and it was getting more difficult to shop. read more

So, the reason I go to thrift stores is for a great price. If you want a great price, this is NOT the store for you. A kitchen table for $249.99??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Clothes are super expensive as well. I could deal with the high pricing if this store had anything worth a crap of spending the time to find. Sadly, it's just a bunch of high priced, nicely organized JUNK. Spend your time elsewhere. read more
