Look at photos before you use Utimate Pools to resurface your pool! We had done in 2021 in about 3 months we had problems with plaster changing color was supposed to be white plaster, we have contacted several times via phone and told oh well! We did send email 2025 with photos and they wanted to put blame on our service company and no warranty on plaster! Funny our service company has maintained our pool from building of pool in 2011 with no problems until Utilmate replastered 2021. So we are getting pool acid washed if that doesn't work we will have to replaster after only 4 years! read more

The only thing good with this company is they show up when scheduled. See my previous review. We had them redo our plaster and tile, only to mess up our coping. First, their cables to remove the plaster scrapped the top of the coping, we found other companies actually cover the coping, then when the grout was applied between the coping and tile, they smeared the grout into the holes of the porous brick color coping, next they used a metal brush in an attempt to remove the grout in the holes which only removed the color from the coping. Now they want to stain the coping to cover their poor workmanship. read more

Our experience with this company was terrible, and costly. If you choose to use them, make sure you get a VERY detailed and itemized cost sheet for any and all work to be performed down to the tiniest detail before you sign on the dotted line. There were many mistakes made throughout our project, including the location of the new jets in our spa, the water return lines in the pool, sharp edges on the plaster, and the electrical work. Thankfully my husband is a retired inspector and caught most of the mistakes however, they wanted to charge us to fix their mistakes. We even had to have the manufacture of the new breaker box (Pentair) come out to confirm and let Ultimate Pool Remodeling know that it wasn't done correctly. Luckily There was an employee by the name of Eric who was able to help us out on some of these issues. Our pool light doesn't even work, but due to lack of confidence in this company, we have no intention of calling them back out to fix it. When we got to the concrete patio and decking portion of the project, we were told to choose an Admixture Inc. color so, we chose Desert Tan-D21 which is a dark gray/beige (color shown in picture below) however, the concrete that was colored, mixed, and delivered by Robertson's Ready Mix then finished by Ultimate Pool Remodeling dried to a ugly peach color. (also seen in the picture below) When we called Ultimate pool remodeling about the color, they told us that it takes 28 days to cure, and also that concrete colors are not guaranteed. It's not like the color was a shade or two darker or lighter, it was a completely different color altogether. After waiting 33 days and going back and forth with them about this issue, they still wouldn't stand behind their finished product or even contact Robertson's Redimix to help us get a refund for the incorrectly colored concrete. We then told them we wanted the concrete removed but they wanted close to $4000 to remove it. We then worked with Eric who was able to get us a discounted price of $1800 for Ultimate Pool to come tear it out so that we could replace it, at our own expense of course. We then decided to contact Robertson's Readymix ourselves and went through their quality control department. They sent a representative to our house to take a look and confirmed that there was definitely something wrong with the color mixture. They took a sample back with them and said they would get back with us soon. We thought things were going well with Robertson's until our last phone conversation with them where they abruptly stated that we were not their customers, Ultimate Pool Remodeling was their customer so, they could no longer speak to us. They also stated they had called and spoke with the owner of Ultimate Pool Remodeling "Daniel" and said that we would need to contact him to work this out. We left messages for Daniel, but never received a call back from him. So, we reached out to Eric again to see if he could help. All we were asking for was a refund for the cost of the concrete and that was all. We weren't even asking for a refund for the finishing of the concrete or the tear out of it. Eric said he would look into it and get back with us. After inquiring a few times, we were finally told that they were only refunding us $539 out of the $4,400 we paid for the concrete. I believe that was the amount or a portion of the amount of the colorant that was used in the mix. This makes no sense to us at all. So much for standing behind your work or customer satisfaction. Do what you want, but this was our experience. read more

I contracted with Ultimate Pool Remodeling to replace the plaster and the tile in my pool. While the price of the work was within estimates of other contractors, I chose them based on a referral I had received from someone else. The Tile replacement went well and looks wonderful, however I had issues with the plaster work. First of all, while removing the old plaster the persons performing the job created a big, long crack in the bench seat located in the deep end. I called the contractor to let them know and they sent a person out to examine the crack. Ultimately, they jack-hammered another 5 inches of material off the top of the seat and then built it back up with new material secured by rebar studs. I question if this would have been repaired if I didn't notify them??? After the replastering was complete and the pool was filled, I found the clear lens cover to one of the fiber optic lights was laying in the bottom of the pool. I retrieved the lens cover from the pool and observed the screw base of the lens was broken off half-way down the threaded base. Clearly, whoever broke it had to know they broke it and just placed it back in position as best as possible to avoid the look of breakage. Once the pool was filled with water, the trapped air behind the lens allowed it to pop loose and sink to the bottom of the pool. Ultimate Pool Remodel said they did not warrant lights. I guess you don't warrant breakage performed by the workers removing the plaster! Lastly, after the pool was filled, I noticed black spotting in the plaster at various locations and what appeared to be brush / trowel streaks. I notified the contractor and was told to let it cure for the next 30 days. Well its been about 60 days now, the black marks are still present, the brush mark/trowel streaks did not go away, and mottling exists all over the pool. I contacted the contractor once again, this time they told me the issues with the plaster were due to a "Poor Start-up", translation: it's my fault, even though I followed NPC start-up procedures. Lastly, other than calls I have made to Ultimate Pool Remodeling no one from the contractor followed-up other than to schedule the one-time start-up service. read more

Overall the experience with Ultimate Pool was good. The "remodel specialist" was outstanding in going over all our options as to materials and equipment, timing, responsiveness to questions and concerns, meeting to choose materials, etc. The end product is also very good, not perfection but I wasn't expecting that. However, after you sign the contract that outstanding remodel specialist is out of the picture and you are left dealing with the main office for everything. The office seems reluctant to have any contact or answer questions, claiming that everything is on the contract and on the contract cover folder. It seems that after spending $$$$$ with them that they would at least be willing spell things out for me. The contract and "contract folder" do not contain all the details and I have very specific questions. Maybe you need to spend more like 6 figures to get that. Anyway, would be 5 stars if not for this icy after sales treatment. If you are ok with that, I recommend them as the presales and product are good and pricing is good. If you expect a "the customer is king" work ethic then shop somewhere else and pay more. read more

I was given the number of Ultimate Pool Remodeling in Riverside as a referral of my local Leslie's pool. Their office was 37 miles far from my address but they still wanted to do business with me. I work 50+ hours so I was hard to catch me at home. Dan Crane got out of his way to meet me at my work during lunch break and we signed the contract 4-26-23 to start the draining, demolishing, and re-plastering of my 20k gallon pool on 5-8. My standards are high so I told them ahead: No monkey business or delays with me! They followed through. Dan would text me and answer all my questions. They re- plastered my pool and left everything nice and clean , even 4 days earlier than the deadline. I can say with confidence they completed their job earlier than expected and my pool guy is confirming they did a good job. I would highly recommend them. A+. read more

We started off with a meeting with Tom, who was extremely nice and friendly! He made it seem like everything would be so amazing. He mentioned that we would have someone who was in charge of our job and over see it. We told him what we wanted and we were pretty clear, everything was great. It came time to signed the contract and then it ended up being... Oh I didn't know you wanted that, that will be $400 for each rock etc. Which was a little annoying since we were clear the day that we spoke with him originally. Regardless we went thru with it and added it on. Our whole job ended up being around $37 or $38k I believe. (My husband added on some stuff so I may be over or under) We were set to start September 5 with a completion date of Oct 16th. Day 1 demo went by super quick. They were done within a day. Which i was originally really excited about until I saw the big chuck that was taken out of our house. That was hiccup one. Hiccup #2...we weren't even introduced to a job site manager.... it wasn't till few weeks later we learned it was Juan. We didn't even get Juan's number so we could reach out directly if we had an issue. We had to go thru the answering service the company provides and wait for a call back if we had an issue. After that things progressed fairly quickly. We felt like we were left in the dark as to what was happening each day. The office said we would be called the night before in regards to who was coming. Sometimes we didn't even receive a call. Most of the time they were coming out and working while we were both at work, so we were unable to over see things. When it came to the tile work they were sloppy. First of all they never even showed me the tile before installing it, which looked nothing like the catalog. It was way darker than shown. Had that been the case I probably would have sent it back and gotten the lighter tile. But now I am stuck with it so oh well. Its not terrible just not what I would have put in. But after the work was done I had to go out and mark every tile that was messed up and crooked. They came back out and fixed their work, which I appreciated. The rock guy Juan was awesome. He did a great job with his work and even made as additional accent rock on the side of our steps without saying anything. The rocks ended up being a little darker than I originally wanted but in the long run, the contrast against the concrete worked out perfect and I love them. He really listened to what we wanted. Now come the most awful part of it :( (I WILL ATTACH PHOTOS) The concrete work...... I cannot say enough how SLOPPY and RUSHED this job felt. I was BEYOND disappointed in our decking. Mind you this is only September 18th at this point....13 days after they started the job. They were moving so fast thru everything...and it really showed in the concrete. First of all, they got concrete ALL over our alumawood patio cover. My husband was able to scrub some of it off but the rest is stuck there forever and now looks extremely trashy. They also did a terrible job concreting around it. Mind you its not even a month since they have poured and my concrete has a huge crack in it around the posts to my patio cover. Second of all, they did a terrible job concreting around my pool rocks. It is all crumbling and chipping away. I was just outside washing off the patio and the pressure from my garden hose was chipping the concrete away. It looks unfinished and very sloppy. Third, there was a piece of styrofoam that got concreted into our decking. Which, ok whatever... things happen. They came back out to fix it which we really appreciated (and expected). Today when i washed off the patio I came to find out that they patched it with a totally different color so when it gets wet it looks like there is a big rust spot on our deck. Which it will always be visible because its right next to the pool and will get wet when its being used. Other issues, there are chunks missing from the corner, the lines they made are not all even and some even touch, the corners where the lines touch are super sloppy and have chunks of concrete... I may sound like I'm being super picky but after spending almost $40,000.00 I expect things to be done with pride and done right. On to the caulking they put around the pool between the concrete and coping.... They got it all over our concrete so now we have huge tan spots on our brand new concrete that we can't get off. Some of the caulking has a gap in it around the pool, one spot looks shiny and not like the rest. We were told Juan would come out to collect final payment. Well it was not juan! We showed them all the things that were wrong and they took pictures. Saying that they would pass them along to the boss. We still haven't received a call or email in regards to that...nothing. Pool is cool, concrete is awful, customer service is awful. read more

Update on pool remodel! As of this date the owner, Daniel, of Ultimate Pool Remodeling, has not made any attempt to come to my property to address my concerns. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they contacted him, he denied any wrongdoing on his part, and they believed him, so nothing was done. I have since filed a complaint with the State Contractors Board and am awaiting a reply from them. They sent me a letter saying they instructed the company to contact me within 7 days but, of course, I have not heard from them. My expectations are not positive regarding my complaint, but nonetheless, I'm exploring every avenue to get some satisfaction. I am adding more photos of results of the shoddy remodel job that show what the rough finish of plaster job can do to your body, the dead tree I have to pay to have removed due to their neglect of my sprinkler system, and a photo of the rails they damaged and that I had to pay someone to reinstall them. The price went from $30k to $60 in a flash and unfortunately I did not even receive a $30 job. I'm asking for a $5000 refund to enable me to paint the concrete pool decking in order to camouflage the inferior finish. Considering all the things that are wrong, the amount I have requested should not be a hardship on the company and would go a long way in creating goodwill. In comparison, I hired Paramount Landscape to repair and update my sprinkler system in my back yard. The job was done this past Spring and I noticed some issues where the sprinklers were not working. The owner came back last week and personally repaired what had been chewed on by unknown rodents and spent two hours making sure everything was working well. No charge, no excuses and no ignoring my concerns. This is how a company should be run! Take note! Do not use the company under any circumstances! The positive reviews on this site are outweighed by one bad review, if the truth be known. Do your research as a pool remodel can be a costly home improvement. read more

I had a full pool remodel by ultimate pool remodeling. The existing pool had a deteriorating concrete deck. Ultimate pool remodeling put in a new paver deck and coping, new tile and quartz plaster. Their pricing was transparent and reasonable. They finished the project a few days ahead of time. Overall the quality of the pavers and the coping was very good.
